Who's really good at editing stories? I'd love to find someone :)
Part two up soon.
Karofky's threats had been getting worse lately. Blaine didn't know how much longer he could watch Kurt get harassed and bullied. It killed him to see his boyfriend get broken down by this coward who would rather hurt an innocent person than come to terms with who he really was.
But today Blaine felt a strange mix of relief and disappointment. Last night on the phone Kurt sounded pretty awful so he probably wouldn't be at school today, he would have a day off safe from Karofky's horrors. On the other hand, Blaine hated seeing Kurt sick and school was boring without him.
But at least he was safe.
His relief vanished when he saw a boy with pale skin, watery blue eyes, and messy brown hair walking his way.
“Kurt?!”
“Please.” Kurt whined, his voice barely there, “No shouting.”
Blaine shook his head and placed a hand on Kurt's forehead, “You are burning up!” His voice was softer but still held the same tone of angry but loving, “Why didn't you stay home today?”
Kurt looked dazed and pale, “Test...” he mumbled, “Can't make it up....” his legs started to give out but Blaine quickly caught him.
“God, Kurt.” Blaine's voice was coated with concern, “You can barely stand up!”
“I'll be fine.” Kurt nestled into Blaine's chest, breathing in his scent, “Can we just stand here for a while, please? My head is killing me and I'm freezing.”
Blaine gently wrapped his arms around Kurt and ran his hand through his hair, knowing how it comforted him, “Baby, I don't think we should stay here.” His eyes scanned the hallway, “If Karofsky sees you like this...something tells me he wouldn't have a problem hitting you while you're sick. Maybe we could-”
“Will you faggots move your disgusting love making somewhere else before I get sick?”
Kurt stiffened in Blaine's arms.
“Karofsky, please, not today.” Blaine said in a tired tone.
“You think you fairies have any right to tell me what to do?!”
Kurt flinched at the loudness of his voice and Blaine tightened his hold on him, “Just this once, Dave, just walk away-”
“I said don't tell me what to do!” He shouted and shoved both Kurt and Blaine into the lockers they were standing in front of. Kurt was released from his boyfriend's arms as they made harsh contact with the lockers and slid to the ground.
Kurt let out a strangled cry of pain and Blaine looked over to see him clutching his head in pain and tears streaming down his face “Kurt....” Blaine, ignoring the pain throbbing through his shoulder and head, reached out to for his boyfriend but a second later he was being yanked up by the collar of his shirt, and slammed into the lockers once more.
“Blaine!” Kurt croaked out, “Leave him alone!” He shouted at Karofsky. He attempted to stand up only to fall to the ground once more, a hand holding his head.
Blaine struggled against Karofsky's grasp, wanting desperately to get to Kurt. Karofsky laughed, “My God, you're more pathetic than I thought.” He spit in Kurt's direction.
“Hey!” Blaine shouted, “This is between you and me right now, Karofsky, leave him out of it just this once.”` Blaine's eyes locked with Kurt's, whose skin had impossibly gotten another shade paler and his breathing was labored. If Blaine didn't get rid of Karofsky soon, Kurt was going to pass out in the middle of this fiasco.
He knew that, physically, he was no match for the bully, but if he could drive him away verbally....
“You keep trying to tell me what to do, you little-”
“You know the only reason anyone still accepts you is because they don't know the truth. What would happen if your friends knew that you were just like us-”
“I am nothing like you!”
“Pretend all you want, tough guy, but you and I both know what you did to Kurt in that locker room. And what's to stop us from telling everybody about it?”
“I'll kill you!” Blaine could tell that his words were working, “I'll kill you both!”
“So what? Even if you do kill us, the truth will still be out there, and then you will be just. Like. Us.”
Karofsky yelled and punched the locker next to Blaine's head before storming off.
Blaine dropped to his knees beside Kurt, who fell limply into his arms, barely conscious.
“Kurt.” A cold sweat had broken out across they boys body and he was shaking, “Sweetheart, are you okay? Talk to me, c'mon.” Blaine knew it was just the flu but God. It was scary holding the love of your life in your arms, barley conscious and pale enough that anyone walking by would think that he was dead.
Kurt feebly clung to him, “So scared....thought he was gonna hurt you...”
Blaine grinned and kissed Kurt's forehead, “Well, he didn't.” Not today at least..
“Why won't the world stop spinning? Make it stop, Blaine...”
Blaine hugged him to his chest for a moment before lifting Kurt up into his arms, “That's it mister. We're taking you home.”
