It was a lazy Sunday morning and the Hummel-Anderson’s were out grocery shopping. Kurt was walking ahead of Blaine who was pushing the cart with one hand and feed Zeppelin ,who was sitting in the cart, with the other.
“Do we need bread?”
“I think so, most likely.”
“So I was thinking that we should start trying to feed her baby food.”
“That sounds like a good- Zeppelin, sweetie what are you doing.” Blaine said as he looked down at Zeppelin, now chewing on his finger. Both him and Kurt stood in the baby food ail just staring at their daughter.
“She’s teething,” Said a lady walking down the ail.
“What?”
“She’s chewing on his finger because her gums are sore were the teeth are coming in. You can get a teething ring, or even a cold wet rag will work.”
“Thank you.”
“No problem, it’s kind of my job.”
“That sounds like a fun job,” Blaine said as he pulled his finger out of Zeppelins mouth, only to have is pulled back in when she started to cry. “Where is her pacifier, will that help?” Kurt walked over and started to dig in the diaper bag, pulling out a pacifier and replacing Blaine’s finger with it.
“I’m a consultant for new parents, down at a clinic.”
“So what is the best type of teething ring?” Blaine asked as he walked over, flipping over the teething rings he had in both hands.
“This one,” she said pointing to the one in Blaine’s right hand. “You two should come down to clinic on Monday night, we have a new adopted parent class, group, thing.”
“We would love to come, when is it,” Blaine said as he tossed the ring into the cart.
“Monday nights at seven o’clock. I hope to see you there.” With that the lady left. The Hummel-Anderson finished shopping and went about their normal Sunday rotten. In the morning Blaine went to work, Kurt went to work, not before dropping Zeppelin at daycare. When Blaine got home the family left to go to the clinic.
“Why are we even going to this?”
“I don’t know. Maybe we can another couple and their kid and Zeppelin can be friends forever. And we might find out some things we didn’t know.” Blaine answered as he opened the door for Kurt. When they walked inside they walked up to the front desk. “We’re looking for the-”
“Parents was adopted kids. Down the hall there’s a big sign.”
“Thank you.” The family walked down the hall and into the room that had a big sign that read, `Adopted Parent Group!`. “Is this like a support group?”
“I was thinking gay parent alliance group.”
“You got the gay parent part right,” Blaine said as he look around the room. There was three kids with gay dad, not including them, then another three kids with gay moms.
“This is going fun.” Kurt said as they took their seats. Zeppelin woke up crying so Blaine picked her up, when he did she stopped crying.
“That was impressive,” one of the dads of a little boy about Zeppelin’s age said.
“He has magical powers, I don’t understand it.”
“I am truly amazed, how did you do that?”
“I didn’t do a think. I just picked her up and put her on my lap.”
“Magical powers,” Kurt said in a sing-song voice. All the parents started to talk about the new parents in the group. Then the lady from the super market walked in.
“Hello. This is a new group so how about we go around the room and introduce are selves.”
They all sat there for a little bit until Blaine stood up. “I’m Blaine Hummel-Anderson.”
“I’m his husband Kurt Hummel-Anderson, and this is are daughter Zeppelin Hummel-Anderson.” All the others introduce them selves, Blaine started to zone out. Then a couple stood up, one of them looking very familiar. One started to do sign, and the familiar looking one translated.
“I’m Luce Karofsky-Love.”
“I’m his husband Dave Karofsky-Love, and this is are son Cored Karofsky-Love.” Kurt looked over to Blaine and he looked just as surprised. They sat though the meting, it was mostly about how to act when your kids does something they are not suppose to do.
When the class ended Zeppelin was asleep and Blaine look like he was about to be. Kurt nudged Blaine which made him wake up. “The meetings over.”
“Do we have to go to another one of these, because I don’t think we need to.” Blaine said as he put Zeppelin back in the baby seat.
“Kurt,” came a voice across the room. The two turned to see Dave and his family walking over to them. “Long time no see. How are you? Can’t be that bad considering Blaine and you are still together .’
“Should I be offended?” Blaine asked himself in a quiet voice.
“Wonderful. You seam to be doing good yourself. Adorable little boy, and I very nice looking husband.”
“Still here,” Blaine said as he raised his unoccupied hand.
“You know what I mean.”
“You look very professional Blaine. What do you do for a living?”
“You look the same, I’m a lawyer.”
“I own and Luce cooks at The Shamrock.”
“That’s a five stare restraint.”
“Hints the suit,” Dave was interrupted by Luce taping him on the shoulder. He then started to sign. “Luce wants to know if you would like to go to diner?”
“Shore, why not.” Kurt said as he looked to Blaine for confirmation, Blaine just shock his head. The two families walked down the streets of New York, Blaine and Dave leading, talking about the babies, because they keep pointing down at them. Kurt and Luce following behind, Kurt trying his best to keep up a conversation with Luce.
“Is this place okay with you two?” Dave said as he stopped in front of a small Italian place.
“Yes,” Kurt said as he opened the door for the others. Blaine was the last one in. “This is wired,” he whispered in Blaine’s ear as they walked up behind Dave and Luce.
“Fore of us and can we get tow high chairs-”
“Zeppelin can just sit in on of are labs if she wakes up.”
“Okay, one high chair.” The were then shown to their table. Dave and Luce sat on one side with Cored in a high chair. Kurt and Blaine sat on the other side, Zeppelins baby seat in between them.
Luce started to sign as Dave translated. “It funny I was just talking about how I wanted to meat some of Dave’s old high school friends.”
“But I told him to wait until the reunion in July. Are you going to go to that.”
“We were planning on it. Not to be rude, but how well do you think that this is going to go over with your football friends?” Kurt said with a very censured voice.
“I was going to rub it in there face’s, but then came to the conclusion that it would not go over well. So I’m going to go and just blend in.”
“You can just hang with us,” Blaine said as he pulled an newly woken up Zeppelin into his lab. He then put the seat on the floor, and with out even thinking Kurt and Blaine both saturated to move closer to one another. The for made small talk until diner arrived, then there was a silent’s that Dave broke.
“Is she chewing on you finger?”
“She’s teething, but she never chews on my fingers only Blaine’s.” The tow families finished diner, then numbers were given with the promise to do this again some time soon.
