Their plan somewhat eased their minds, but there was still that year where Kurt wouldn’t see Blaine everyday. That was going to be the hardest part. He could learn to live in a new place, he could make new friends, no problem.

But leaving his room everyday knowing he wasn’t going to see Blaine’s infectious smile broke his heart more everyday.

So as the number of school days wind down, Kurt does his best to focus on the time they have, and not on his impending departure. They still have the summer.

He is surprised, then, when Blaine wants him to meet him in the auditorium. With the rest of glee club seated in a semicircle behind him to harmonize, Blaine takes center stage and begins to sing.

The tears flow freely for Kurt; he isn’t ashamed. He’ll miss his friends, his Blaine. But it is his turn. It is time for his dream to take flight, to soar, to take him places he’d never even dreamed.
