Blaine sat at his computer checking his email when he got the next text from Kurt. He opened it excitedly, begging the phone to reveal the contents of the message. And he grinned like and idiot when he saw what it said.
Come by my place tonight and we’ll talk about it. =)
Blaine immediately went downstairs, finding his mom at the kitchen table reading. He smiled as he looked at her, knowing that he had saved Kurt from what he and his mother had experienced. He grabbed his keys from the counter.
“Hey, mom, I’m going out for a while, okay?”
“Sure, honey. Be careful.” Blaine smiled.
“Always.” As he climbed into his car, he sent a text to Kurt.
Be at your place in 15
He started the car and pulled out of the driveway, excited to go see Kurt. It was a short drive. Blaine could’ve walked there if he’d had the patience right then, but he clearly didn’t. A few minutes later, Blaine pulled up in front of Kurt’s house…but something was going on outside.

Kurt smiled when he opened the most recent text from Blaine. He would be here in a couple minutes and Kurt couldn’t wait. He heard a car pull up outside. He jumped up off his bed and ran downstairs to meet Blaine at his car, but when he ran outside he was surprised, and terrified, to see that it wasn’t Blaine who had pulled up. It was David.
David did not look happy. As a matter of fact, he looked like he’d been drinking, which scared Kurt even more. He was home by himself, so calling for help would be useless. He put as much confidence as he could muster into his voice.
“What are you doing here?” David walked toward him. Kurt backed up, jumping when he hit the garage door.
“Y’know…apparently the only reason people left me alone when I came out wasn’t that they all liked me, wasn’t that they were intimidated by me, no. Apparently, it was because I was with you.” David grabbed the collar of Kurt’s shirt and shoved him hard against the garage door, growling his words right into Kurt’s ear. “Do you know what I’ve gone through since people found out that we broke up? Huh?”
Kurt was so scared he was in tears, but he knew exactly what David was talking about. He knew because it was all exactly what David had done to him single-handedly when Kurt had come out.
While Kurt was in thought, David hit him, his fist connecting hard with Kurt’s jaw. As Kurt’s head, flew backward, David spoke louder. “Answer me!” When Kurt said nothing, and David felt tears fall onto his arm, he hit Kurt again. This time, however, he didn’t stop. The next thing he knew, Kurt was on his stomach on the driveway.
