Author's Notes: Sorry it took so long, but here it is!
Blaine dropped his hand to his side as Kurt walked away. He hated to admit it, but he deserved it. He had disappeared at the time Kurt had needed him most. He didn't deserve forgiveness. He didn't deserve another chance.

He sighed, disappointment settling in his stomach. He made the decision to skip the Warblers performance and go straight to his dorm.

--

Blaine was half way finished unpacking when Jeff knocked on his door.

“Can I come in?” asked Jeff as he leaned against the door frame.

Blaine placed the box he was holding on the foot of his bed before sitting down. “Yeah, come in.”

Jeff shuffled into the room, hands tucked into the pockets of his jeans. “Missed you at the performance today. Nick replaced you on lead after Trent finally managed to get the gavel away from Wes.”

Blaine looked at Jeff for a moment before looking back at the floor. “Yeah, I got a headache. Sorry.”

Jeff raised an eyebrow before he sat in a chair across from Blaine. “Anything you want to talk about?”

“I..” Blaine hesitated. Technically, he'd never actually lied to Jeff. He just wasn't forthcoming with all of the information. “You know how I told you about why I transferred to Dalton?”

Jeff nodded but remained silent so Blaine continued.

“I wasn't alone that night,” Blaine said quickly. “I had a friend with me.”

“Okay..” Jeff trailed off. “Did he, you know, survive?”

It was a blunt question and caught Blaine off guard. “What? Of course he did!”

Jeff shrugged. “Okay. So what are you getting at bro? You're not making much sense.”

Blaine sighed and dropped his head. “He transferred here.”

“That's awesome! Can he sing?”

“No, it's not awesome,” replied Blaine. “I moved away after the attack. I wasn't allowed to contact him at first but after a little while I could have and I never did and God, I basically abandoned him!”

Blaine felt his throat constrict and he blinked back the tears that formed in his eyes. “I should of been there for him.”

Jeff shifted uncomfortably in his seat. “Can we avoid your emotional breakdown because to be honest I'm not entirely sure how to deal with that kind of stuff,” he stood up and walked over to Blaine, placing a hand on his shoulder.

“Look bro, you can't change things you've done in the past. You can only learn from it and be better in the future. This friend of yours can either accept that you've made some mistakes and move on, or he can be an ass and dwell on it. One or the other.”

Blaine exhaled slowly before he collapsed back onto his bed. “Kurt's changed. He's not the same person he was two years ago. He's changed a lot.”

Jeff shook his head. “Are you telling that you're the exact same person you were two years ago? You had Dalton, you had us to help you recover. Who was there to help Kurt recover?”

Blaine swallowed, eyes locked on the ceiling. Jeff was right. He'd had help, he'd had friends. As far as he knew, Kurt didn't have anyone.

“Look, I have to go. I'm meeting Nick and I'm already running a little late.”

“Finally got up the nerve to ask him out?” asked Blaine playfully.

Jeff blushed slightly, hand running through his blonde hair. “No, actually. He asked me.”

“Well at least one of you finally did. It's been well over a year. Everyone will be pleased.”

“It'll work out, Blaine. Everything's okay in the end, and if it's not okay, it's not the end,” Jeff said, sending Blaine one last smile before walking out of the dorm.

Blaine propped himself up on his palms, sliding down the side of the bed until his knees hit the floor. He dug under his bed and pulled out a dusty shoe box. He took off the lid and instantly felt his stomach drop.

He needed to talk to Kurt.

--

Kurt managed to avoid him for three days. After the class they had together, Kurt would throw his bag over his shoulder and disappear.

Blaine found him at the end of the fourth day, cigarette tucked between his fingers while he exhaled the smoke.

“That's bad for your health, you know,” Blaine said softly as he rounded the corner.

Kurt gave him a look before bringing the offending item back to his lips and sucking hard.

Blaine leaned against the brick wall, eyes cast to the ground. He was unsure of how to proceed, but at the same time he didn't want Kurt to walk away before he got the chance to say something. “You've been avoiding me.”

“What's your point?” asked Kurt, dropping the cigarette to the ground and putting it out the heel of his shoe. “Did you ever think I just don't want to talk to you?

“Look, Kurt,” Blaine paused, his mind suddenly blank of any form of conversation. He reached into his pocket and pushed a black and white photo into Kurt’s hands.

Kurt looked from Blaine back to the picture at least five times, and if Blaine didn't know any better, he could have sworn he saw tears in Kurt’s eyes.

“Is this some kind of joke?” Kurt choked out. “Showing me the picture from that night? What are you trying to say Blaine Anderson?”

Blaine instantly began to panic. This was not how it was supposed to go at all. “No! It's not a joke. I..” he swallowed again. “I want to get back to that, Kurt! I want to be friends like we were! I've missed you, Kurt. I've missed you a lot and that picture you're holding has been with me wherever I've gone for the past two years!”

Kurt looked back at the picture, his facial features becoming indistinguishable. “I'm not the same person I was, Blaine. I've changed. I've changed so much.”

“I know. I'm not the same person I was back then either. I've had boyfriends, I've done things I'm not proud of. I've been all over the place, really,” Blaine said. “My parents kicked me out of the house and made me start boarding because of my sexuality, Kurt. I know you think that I've had it easy and if I'm honest, I've had it a lot easier than you have. But that doesn't mean we can't be friends.”

Kurt sighed, face muscles relaxing as he gazed at the picture. “We were so happy that night. I thought for sure..” he looked up at Blaine before shaking his head.

“Thought what?” Blaine asked carefully.

“I thought we'd be okay that night,” whispered Kurt. “I honestly thought we had just gone to a dance and nobody said anything to us and we were just going to walk out of there.”

Blaine took a step closer, reaching for Kurt’s hand. Kurt noticed and pulled away before any contact was initiated. “What are we doing, Blaine?”

“Starting over?” Blaine threw out, eyes hopeful.

Kurt scoffed, shaking his head. “There is no starting over for us, Blaine! After everything that's happened to us, you can't seriously expect-”

“Hey, Blaine, are you okay?”

Both Kurt and Blaine turn around, and Blaine groaned when he saw Jeff and Nick making their way over. “Yeah, I'm fine. You guys can carry on with your date.”

“Is this the friend you were telling me about earlier?” Jeff asked, looking at Kurt.

Blaine dropped his shoulders. “Jeff and Nick, this is Kurt. He's a friend from my old school.”

Nick held out a hand but Kurt didn't take it. “Pleasure.”

Jeff looked at Blaine, understanding quite quickly. “Nick, come on. We're going to be late for our reservations. See you tonight, Blaine!”

Nick allowed himself to be pulled away, and Blaine returned his gaze to Kurt.

“You told them about me?”

Blaine nodded. “I told Jeff, yes. He's one of my best friends.”

Kurt pushed his hands into jacket, now actively avoiding eye contact. “Sorry to rain on your little parade that you had going on here.”

“What? Kurt, what are you even talking about?” Blaine asked, now thoroughly confused. “I'm happy you're here. I want us to be friends! Why is that so hard to understand?”

“Because if you knew who I am now, you wouldn't want to be my friend!” Kurt snapped angrily. “I'm not a good person anymore. I don't ever want to be that scared little boy that I was in public school. I won't go back to that.”

Kurt started walking towards the parking lot, and Blaine trailed after him. “Kurt! Stop! Come on, Kurt!”

“What do you want, Blaine?” Kurt finally stopped at his vehicle, twirling his car keys around his finger.

“Look, I hear what you're saying, and I respect it. I really do. But can you do me one favour, just one?” Blaine said hopefully.

Kurt unlocked his door and slid into the drivers seat. “What?”

“Come to Warblers practice tomorrow. You don't even have to sing. Just watch. See if it might be something you're interested in picking up again.”

“I'll see,” replied Kurt, slamming the car door and rolling down the window. “Don't get your hopes up, Warbler.”

Kurt squealed his tires as he pulled out of the parking lot, leaving Blaine quite literally in the dust.

--

Blaine grips the bed sheets, toes curling into the mattress as Kurt sinks his mouth down around his cock. His back arches, sweat beginning to form on his forehead.

He’d never imagined Kurt’s mouth working him over like this, up and down and swirling his tongue over the head like he knows exactly how Blaine likes it.

“Oh god, Kurt!” Blaine gasps, fingers twisting into Kurt’s hair. He’s already so close and they’ve just started and he doesn’t want it to end so soon-

Blaine woke up, chest heaving for air and a throbbing erection mocking him in his pyjama pants.

That was definitely new.

End Notes: Well then. That's a twist from his usual dreams.
