Adam felt disbelief and disgust fill him until his skin prickled with it. He couldn't stay still. This could not happen. He walked purposefully up to the stunned looking couple, their hands still clasped.
"Is this what you needed time for? To cheat on me? Show me your arm, Kurt." Adam hand shook as he reached out for it.
"Baby, calm down. Please, lets go somewhere and talk," Kurt tried to soothe him.
"You don't get to call me that right now, Kurt." He gripped Kurt's arm and stared hard at the distinct "Bl" on it, making sure that this nightmare was real. He pulled Kurt into his arms roughly, away from Blaine and what he perceived as danger. He held on to Kurt tightly, and Kurt did not try and escape, just lightly stroked his back and leaned his head against Adam's shoulder.
Blaine felt as if a piece of his own body had just been ripped from him, as he lost the warmth of Kurt's hand. The pain was acute and deep, reminding him vaguely of his last visit to the dentist. He heard himself cry out, quietly, a whimper. "Kurt?"
Kurt tried to stay calm and more importantly, keep Adam calm. "Noah," Kurt began, "take Blaine home, please?"
"Sure thing, playa." Noah replied, smirking. Adam made a low growling sound in his throat in response.
This could get very bad very fast, Kurt knew that. He had read the history books. So he kept his arms around Adam and dragged them both away to his car.
"I need you so badly right now, Kurt, I don't even understand what is happening to my body I feel like if I don't have you now I am going to die. It's like my soul hurts. I HATE being this out of control. Why are you doing this to me?" Adam was panting out words, distressed. "What the hell were you doing here with him today? Dammit, Kurt, aren't you mine? Tell me that you're mine, show me that you are mine."
Kurt looked into Adam's eyes, which were wet and desperate. Kurt knew he had been irresponsible about this whole thing. This is how fights broke out, this is why countries had gone to war. Because of irresponsible, selfish, brats like himself that were afraid to make decisions and stand by them. His small hesitation, his lack of certainty, had turned a kind, gentle, beautiful man into the mess he saw in front of him. This was Kurt's fault, no question.
He had to fix it. First, calm Adam down. He knew how to do that, and it would be okay. It's not like they hadn't done this hundreds of times before. Once Adam was calmer, they would talk about this rationally, like mature adults. Kurt was going to try his best to make sure nobody got hurt.
He lead Adam tentatively into the backseat of his car, and met with no resistance. He kissed his lips lightly, and let Adam deepen this kiss, let Adam's tongue into his mouth in a familiar, owning gesture. He would let Adam have this one last time, whatever he wanted. It would be goodbye, and Kurt would explain everything afterward. He let Adam's hand rest on the top of his head, nudging him downwards, a pleading expression on his face as he looked down at Kurt.
It felt the same, Kurt thought. How strange. It felt like pleasure, it tasted nice, it was familiar and comforting. The body was such a strange thing, he thought, craving routine and falling into it so easily. He only thought of Blaine once, when Adam clasped his hand especially tightly. He stared at Adam's face for several minutes when it was over, waiting for something. Ah, there it there. The anger was drained, his face relaxed enough to talk now. He was about to demolish the world of somebody that he loved. Sex seemed like kind of an odd prelude to destruction, but what did he know? Maybe this is how people always had these conversations.
"Baby, I choose Blaine. I am so sorry." There it was. The words stayed suspended in the air of the car that now had fogged up windows. It was freeing, to say it.
"I will fight for you, Kurt. You are my soulmate and I will fight for you."
"No you aren't. You're my candidate. Blaine is my soulmate."
"Where will you live?" Adam's voice began to betray the tears filling his eyes. His handsome face screwed up into a grimace. "Who will take care of you? He's way too young."
"The age difference is the same as you and me, Baby."
"This can't be happening." Adam looked upward, as if asking the universe to agree with him."Spend tonight with, me, Kurt. Let me convince you to choose me again. You chose me every day for two years and I know you will choose me again if I remind you."
This sounded to Kurt like a desperate attempt, a last resort. He wasn't sure what Adam wanted to happen, but he couldn't imagine how it would change his mind. But, he figured he owed it to him. Kurt owed everything to him, now that he was stealing himself away. "Okay, we'll have tonight together to talk things through. But you aren't going to convince me to stay."
"Will you hold me?"
Kurt's heart melted a little. "Of course, Baby."
Noah could not actually get Blaine to leave. That little guy was stronger than he looked.
"You don't want to do that," he said to Blaine, who was beginning to follow Kurt and Adam.
"And what the hell do you know about it?" Blaine replied, past the point of caring about being polite.
"Your funeral, dude," Noah said, as he looked away from Blaine and helped a customer.
So Blaine followed them, and watched until the windows got too foggy to see much. Then he vomited into the bushes twice, and walked back to the truck, looking green.
"Hey dude, I told you not to go." Noah said, looking smug but a little sorry for him."Want me to drive you home now?"
"No, thanks," Blaine said, "I know someone I can call for a ride." If he picks up, Blaine thought to himself. He dialed Sebastian's number, his fingers feeling a bit numb for some reason.
Ring.
Ring.
Ring.
"Blaine." Sebastian said in a monotone.
"Sebastian, I have been wanting to speak with you. I also am in kind of a bind right now, and could use a ride. Are you teaching a class tonight?"
Sebastian sighed, defeated. "No, Aikido was cancelled tonight. Where should I pick you up?"
