Just two weeks with Kurt Hummel and the world was shining brighter.

After that first date-yes, Blaine had admitted that it was a date and Coop had appropriately bear hugged him-and that amazing kiss, Blaine had felt his confidence rise just enough to ask Kurt out again. After a second date in the park, where the two had stayed out until the moon was high in the sky, shimmering silver, they seemed to agree without either saying it, that they were together. They were Kurt and Blaine not just Kurt with Blaine, but Kurt and Blaine.

Over those glorious two weeks they'd managed to spend as much time as they possibly could together. They had to work around Blaine's detention sentence still, which seemed to feel longer and longer the more often he was there, but they managed to fit to one another’s agendas.

Some days they would go to see a movie or go out for lunch or coffee, other days they would stay inside Blaine's house, listening to classic Broadway songs and kissing on his bed, enjoying each other's warmth.

"You've got the puppy eyes for him," Wes laughed.

"Has that ever been a good thing or were you just mocking me the entire time?" Blaine asked him.

"I'm always mocking you, no matter what I say," Wes said pointedly.

"Most supportive friend ever," he muttered sarcastically, sipping at his morning coffee. He'd been up all night texting Kurt. "Should I attempt to tone the puppy eyes down then or-"

"I'd suggest no," Wes said, grinning. "Everybody likes a good puppy eye."

Blaine sighed, "How do I feel like that's a compliment and a joke all at once?"

"Because you can read me so well," Wes winked, elbowing Blaine playfully in the side before turning down the opposite hall. Blaine watched him disappear around the corner and then headed for his next class.

Things just seemed to be getting better. His professors seemed to be glaring at him a little bit less and his grades were improving slowly. He could walk down the halls holding Kurt's hand and sneak off between classes to steal a kiss from him. They were just so open and trusting with each other that nothing remained hidden.

So of course there was still one, large problem.

Just as well as his relationship with Kurt had been going, the situation with Acid had only managed to get worse. She kept showing up everywhere, stealing from banks or threatening terrified hostages from the tops of buildings. Half the time it seemed she just sat around breaking down walls until Silver arrived, looking amused. She'd fight him for as long as she could manage, Blaine hiding his pain behind the rush of adrenaline, and then seemingly angry, she would dart away quickly before he could catch up to her. Each time though, the fights seemed to drag out longer and Blaine seemed to get in worse shape. He was already hiding cuts on his shoulders and legs from Kurt and Coop.

Somehow she seemed worse each time.

And somehow she seemed more pleased with herself each time.

Blaine wasn't sure how much more he could take, and yet the suit seemed to be repairing itself faster and shooting out new things with each challenge. It was adjusting for him, just like it always had.

The other downside to this, though, other than Blaine's constant aches and bruises, was that every time he heard the beeping in his ear, knowing that he had to leave, he would have to make an excuse to Kurt and hurry away. He was getting sick of making up lies, and even if Kurt didn't appear to notice, he was sure that it was affecting him somehow. It wasn't fair for him to just get up and leave when they were supposed to be spending the afternoon together.

One day, the two had been curled up together on a park bench. The winter weather was chilling to the bone, and Kurt, as usual, was draped in a heavy scarf. Blaine wanted to pull it away and kiss his neck, and Kurt had settled for wrapping it around the two of them. The snow was falling lightly around them and he had his head against Blaine's shoulder.

"This is nice," Kurt murmured, holding tight to his coffee.

Blaine kissed his head. "Very," he smiled.

That was when he heard the soft beeping. He bit down on his lip, trying to ignore it but the sound only grew louder in his head and he wanted to swat at the back of his neck for the tingling sensation that was spreading out. He knew what he had to do and sighed into his coffee. Kurt was just so warm and cuddly.

Blaine coughed slightly, rubbing his eyes. "Kurt...you know I'm not feeling too well..."

Kurt frowned empathetically up at him. "Do you want to head over to your house? We could watch a movie."

He felt awful lying to Kurt. "No, I think I better just get some rest and I don't want you to get sick or anything," he added, making his voice a mixture of absent and concerned. "The sicker we both are the less time we have together, right?"

He nodded and unwrapped the scarf from around their necks. In the car Blaine avoided his eyes, feeling guilty once more, and ignored the itching sensation that he was going in the wrong direction. Kurt gave him a quick kiss when he dropped him off and Blaine waited just inside the door until he heard the car drive away. Feeling like his mind was exhausted, Blaine snuck back outside and was sprinting down the streets in a minute, slinking into the shadows.

The time that he was busy fighting Acid could have been precious Kurt and Blaine time. Instead it was try-not-to-get-too-badly-injured-or-someone-will-notice time. One was quite enjoyable, the other was just becoming annoyingly repetitive.

Luckily, though, Kurt never did bring up how he always disappeared. Blaine figured he either believed every lie that he told him, or he was hiding his disappointment in him. How could he build a trusting relationship with him if he was always lying? Occasionally, he would picture himself telling the truth to Kurt while they were lying together in his bed, curled up under the blankets. Even in his head that conversation never ended well:

"Kurt, I have to tell you something."

"Go ahead, Blaine," Kurt smiled.

Blaine took a deep breath and nodded, staring at Kurt. "I'm really Silver. I'm the guy out saving the city and that's why I always run away. I'm really sorry."

Kurt gaped at him, his eyes wide and horrified. "You’re Silver? But-but Blaine!"

"I promise I can-"

"That's just insane! How-you can't! Blaine that's just dangerous and reckless have you no head? I don't think we should be together if you're not going to tell me the truth. Besides, I've always thought you had weird hair."

Okay, so maybe it was a tad bit dramatic, but hey, you never could tell how someone would react to news like, "I'm actually the city's 'masked hero'."

Whenever he thought about this Kurt would look up at him and brush a curl off of his forehead, twisting it around his finger. "Are you alright?" he'd ask. Blaine would avoid his eyes-they were becoming increasingly good at reading each other-and just nod it off and change the subject.

'I hate lying to you, Kurt,' he thought sadly.

"He's been everywhere, how do we still have nothing on this guy?" Sebastian said angrily, throwing down another photograph of Silver-yet again fighting Acid. Most of the new photos looked the same: Silver and Acid, battling in the middle of a street while citizens gathered on the edges. "Who is he? How the hell does one person manage to evade identification for so long?"

Kurt sighed into his hands, downing another coffee. "He wears a mask and a suit that looks like it's from a cheesy clothing-of-the-future ad, I think he can manage to get away with hiding himself."

Sebastian glared over at him, filing through another pile of photos. "Nobody has anything on this guy-no hostage or witness. The police are baffled-how? How does he do it, though?" He tossed Kurt a few photos and he caught them easily, looking at them for what felt like the millionth time.

"We're getting nowhere," he sighed, flipping through them.

"Yeah, well all we have are shitty photos and grainy security footage," Sebastian scowled.

Kurt rolled his eyes. "It's not like he leaves prints anywhere."

"He could be considerate enough to drop a hint at least," Sebastian muttered.

Kurt bit down on his tongue. He hated working with Sebastian. Any other day he just generally tried to avoid him, but when the boss wanted something done, he wanted it done. He was stuck working with him until they uncovered Silver. This, in itself, seemed impossible when there was no smidge of evidence anywhere. There were no finger prints, his entire figure was covered, and they couldn't go off approximate height alone. His voice wasn't recognized in any system. It was almost as if he didn't even exist.

"Ugh," Sebastian scoffed, glaring at a photo. "Too bad he can't just...disappear."

"He's helping people," Kurt mumbled.

"He's a pain," Sebastian corrected.

'I think he's a hero,' Kurt thought, looking down at the picture. In this particular one he was holding a young girl who Acid had nearly acidified. He smiled softly, thinking of his conversation about Silver with Blaine. He's probably a good guy under all that armor. Blaine was probably right. The guy was just some innocent man wandering around helping people, and here they were trying to figure out who he was so they could stop him from doing exactly that just because it was messing up their plans.

'Is this really the best thing I can be doing?' he thought, running his finger unconsciously over the photo. This was his job, though. This was what he did. But was it right?

"We've got a call," Sebastian said suddenly, shaking Kurt from his thoughts. He was slipping a phone into his pocket and standing, making his way to the door. "Acid's sent a friend to do her dirty work apparently," he said with a grin. "And that means Silver will be there in a flash."

Blaine could hardly believe what he was seeing. Acid had seemed like the worst things could get, but when he arrived it wasn't Acid who was tearing apart the city like she owned it.

No, instead, what welcomed him was a man. This man looked pretty ordinary, even the bulging muscles could have been normal-if he wasn't about ten feet tall. Dressed in all black that stretched out across his large torso, he was lifting a car off of the road as if it didn't weigh anything more than a feather. Luckily the car was empty, but he tossed it over his shoulder and people screamed, scrambling away as it crashed into a building.

"Oh come on," Blaine hissed under his breath, staring paralyzed at the man.

"I WILL SMASH," the man yelled. "I AM SMASH."

"Well, now or never," he said to himself. 'Come on suit show me that you've got some hidden strength, too.'

Biting down on his lip, Blaine sucked in a breath and then sprinted forwards towards Smash. He was holding a sign, twisting the metal with a loud creak. Distracted, Blaine was able to throw himself straight into him, knocking him off his feet.

"Silver!" someone yelled happily.

Smash looked around and his eyes rested on Silver. He glared, getting unsteadily to his feet. 'Okay so strength is all you've got then,' Blaine thought, watching him rise. He swallowed-he seemed even taller standing right in front of him. 'So if I can use your size to my advantage-'

Blaine jumped back as Smash threw out a hand, grabbing for him.

"Woah there, big fellow!" he said, backtracking. "Hands to yourself, please!"

Smash growled and grabbed for him again, to which Blaine ducked and he lost his balance again and wobbled forwards unsteadily. He sprinted behind him, his eyes on those hands that looked pretty big-big enough to crush him with one simple swipe. Smash turned around, his legs unsteady, and hit his head off of the building when he ducked to hit him again. He rubbed at his head, snarling. "I WILL SMASH YOU STRAIGHT INTO THE GROUND!" he shouted to nobody in particular, still looking around dizzily.

Spinning a little too quickly, he staggered towards Blaine, looking confused. His hand shot out quickly-moving when Blaine moved. 'Shit shit-Blaine think of something!' The hand was coming too fast for him to move. He lifted up his arms, bracing himself for the impact, and felt the fist collide with his hands. He was nearly knocked to his knees by the force of it, but something overtook him. His arms felt stronger, thicker, and he pushed back against him, resisting the force.

He pushed up with every ounce of strength he had left. The hand flew off of him and Smash stumbled back, falling to the ground once more, his head hitting off of a streetlamp which was knocked over by the force.

It took him a minute this time, but he rose to his feet again, panting. He ran towards Blaine, shaking the ground, and Blaine almost lost his own footing. He threw out an arm and it hit directly into Blaine's stomach. The impact sent him soaring backward, right through the window of a shop. Shards of glass flew out around him, scratching up against the suit. He felt them once more like tiny pokes, but when he collided with the ground he could feel that fully well. He bit down on his lip, his head spinning. When he could finally see straight he could see Smash taking off down the street.

Nobody was pursuing him.

"Silver? Are you alright?"

"Oh my-Silver? Silver?"

He smiled at the people and got to his feet. Hands were stretched out to help him but he ignored them and ran off.

Kurt watched from across the street as Silver flew through the window. Pieces of glass rained down around him and bodies filed towards him in horror. Sebastian, however, was grinning.

"Not so tough now."

He gritted his teeth, resisting the urge to lean over and punch Sebastian right in his stupid, smug mouth. They were supposed to be blending in with the crowds of people that were watching as Silver and Smash battled it out. Kurt wished that he could do something other than observe, but everybody seemed to figure that Silver was alright on his own. He's probably a good guy under all that armor. He was probably a lonely guy under all that armor, too.

The crowds surged forwards, pulling Kurt and Sebastian with them. The pair snaked through unnoticed, trying to get a better glimpse of Silver. By the time they broke through to the front Silver was gone from the shop and probably ducking down another alleyway. Kurt stared down the street, searching for movement, but there was no sign of the masked hero.

"Damn," Sebastian muttered beside him.

Kurt replayed the nasty fall through the window in his mind. Any normal person would've for sure been hospitalized by that. Was Silver limping off somewhere, bleeding from cuts from battles he didn't even have to fight? Or maybe he was taking off the armor, and below he was just a guy, bleeding from the burden he'd bared.
