Chapter 2
“And why in the actual fuck, Detective Anderson, would I know who my pimp was banging?”
Blaine scrubbed his hand over his face repeatedly. He could tell Kurt was trying, even though he was speaking rather crudely and behaving slightly difficult. Really, a no would suffice if he didn't know the answer to a question, but Blaine knew that hookers didnt often trust people so Kurt must have had no idea how to handle his questioning.
“Blaine. Call me Blaine.” Kurt looked unimpressed. “Please, Kurt. Please, just try to remember. Did you ever see Kenny with a girlfriend? How about his sexual preference? Did he ever talk about preferring women over men? Or vice versa?” Kurt rolled his eyes for about the thousandth time before responding.
“He once said if he was into dudes, he'd have me over the table in seconds.” Blaine flinched a little at that, but Kurt continued. “He also fucked the girls every once in a while, but I think if he was single he would have done it a lot more.” Blaine nodded.
“Anything else?”
Kurt thought for a long second before responding. “Oh! Sometimes he left women's jewelry store gift bags around so I guess maybe that means he was some bitch's sugar daddy.” Kurt's trademark scowl crossed over his features. “Why does this even matter? I thought I was here to talk about Kenny's crimes not his mistresses.”
“Anything could end up helping with the case.” Kurt rolled his eyes at the cliché cop line.
“Yeah well I'd rather get the bad things over, right now.” Blaine looked flustered, how could a cop be so easily flustered? Whatever the reason, it was adorable. No, Kurt thought, not adorable, never adorable, annoying. Yeah, that's what it was.
“Ok, sure. How did Kenny behave when he was…angry?” Blaine tried to speak lowly and soothingly, but Kurt didnt look like he was even remotely upset by the nature of the question.
“Well, Kenny always says if your late on ‘rent,' otherwise known as money we get paid for fucking people, one time, you get a beating.” Blaine just nodded, willing him to continue. “And two days in a row, Kenny talks to the other girls to see what's going on. Three- I've never seen anyone come back after three. Kenny's not the type to let you just walk away.”
“Have you ever seen someone getting beaten?” Blaine was serious, like he always was, but Kurt just snorted.
“Honey, I've had first hand experiences with getting smacked around more than a few times and I've seen him beating up on the girls more times than I can count.”
“How many people live with you in the wh- house?”
Kurt raised an eyebrow before bluntly stating, "Whore House. you can say it, I know what I do, I know where I live, and I know what you think of me.”
Blaine looked down and his desk before he spoke quietly, "Kurt, no one blames you for the terrible situation youre in." Kurt let out a humorless laugh.
"Yeah, whatever, continue the questioning."
"Y-yes, so how many people lived with you in the...Whore House?
“Six girls and two other boys.”
“Their names?” Kurt giggled- how is it as cute as it if for this hooker to giggle?- and said, “People were in and out of their like nobody's business, only one who ever stayed as long as me was another girl.”
“Did you know her name?”
Kurt smiled sadly, “She called herself Starlight, but she told me her name was Rachel. Shes got one hell of a mouth on her, but she really is all I have.”
Kurt's face drained of color and he stood up abruptly. “I have to go. Now.”
Blaine, of course, was immediately confused, they had been doing well. Kurt was opening up like nobody off the streets he ever met. “We only have a few more questions to get through, then I swear you can leave.”
Kurt shook his head adamantly. “No. Kenny knows Rachel and I are friends, if I don't turn up she'll be the first one he takes his anger out on. He's done it before and I can't let her get hurt again. I just can't.”
Blaine was even more upset by Kurt's reason for leaving than his actual leaving. “Kurt, I can't let you go back there.” Kurt raised his eyebrow in rebellion.
“You know what, Detective? Either you let me go for an hour, just one hour and I'll be back, or throw me in a prison cell and I swear on my life I'll die before a speak another word about Kenny to you.” They stared at each other for a long minute before Blaine sighed and scooped up his keys.
“Alright let's go.” Kurt looked as if he wanted to protest, it would be disgustingly dangerous for everyone involved for Blaine to come with, but his expression told him that he wouldnt budge an inch from his idea of how things were going to go.
Kurt rolled his eyes and turned on his heel, walking quickly and leaving Blaine to follow behind. Blaine, who had a fairly unavoidable view of Kurt's ass. Spectacular ass, Blaine thought, before shaking the completely inappropriate thought out of his head and following Kurt out the door.
