Two months had passed since they started Hogwarts, they were loving it all. Well most of it. Snape terrified both Kurt and Blaine, Quirrell was strange and was the butt of a lot of jokes. McGonagall was both amazing and scary at the same time, both boys got on well with her. Halloween was now here and the boys were really excited about it, Kurt had been telling Blaine all about muggle Halloween's and Blaine loved the sound of it. They both shared stories about what wizards did and what muggles did, then they both told each other scary stories from both of their worlds. They had so much fun doing it. Their day was amazing, right until dinner when they were sat and eating, enjoying the amazing food when the doors burst open. Everyone's heads shot round and they saw Quirrell screaming about there being a troll in the dungeon. Just like the other kids, Blaine started screaming and getting ready to run. But Dumbledore's shout scared him into sitting back down again. Once they were informed that he could go, he got up and followed the crowd of Hufflepuff's. But before he would go back to his common room, he had to make sure Kurt was okay. He slipped away from the group and ran off to find him.

Blaine found Kurt curled up in a ball behind a pillar, he ran to him and put his arms around him.
"Are you okay?" He asked.
"I tripped and then kids in a panic kept walking over me. I had to move before i was trampled to death. Now i'm too scared to move." Kurt told Blaine.
Blaine helped Kurt to his feet and hugged him tighter. He was so glad that he was okay.
"We have to move now, the troll is getting close. Can you run?" Blaine asked.
"I don't know. I don't think i can make it to my common room." Kurt trembled.
"Then we'll hide in broom cupboard until it's gone. Come on." Blaine gripped Kurt's hand and they began hurrying to a broom cupboard. They just turned the corner when they found the troll standing right in front of them. Blaine felt Kurt's grip on his hand get really tight and they were both terrified. The troll spotted them and stepped closer. Blaine tried to pull Kurt, who was frozen like a statue to the spot and staring at the troll, into the broom cupboard but he wouldn't budge.
"Kurt please move, i don't want you to die. Come on!" Blaine shoved him hard. "I'm doing this because you're my best friend and i care about you so get in there!"
One last shove and Kurt and Blaine were in the broom cupboard, huddled down together and shaking so much.
"We're going to die, aren't we?" Kurt whispered.
"No, i won't let that happen." Blaine said and held Kurt closer.
Then the door smashed in and they both screamed, trying to shield each other from the wood blown their way. It was the troll and they needed to get out right now. Blaine wasn't too sure what happened next. It seemed that Kurt managed to get out his wand, cast a spell to make loads of things down the other end of the corridor fall and create a huge banging sound, making the troll turn round and investigate.
"You're amazing!" Blaine said as he and Kurt hurried out of the cupboard and ran for their common rooms.

They didn't make it very far, they were caught by the teachers. Blaine wasn't sure who Kurt was more afraid of, the troll or the teachers.
"What are you boys doing?" McGonagall asked.
"We... I... Me... We..." Kurt tried to get his words out but failed.
"Kurt got trampled on by some students and hid behind a pillar, i went looking for him to make sure he was okay. I found him and by then it was too late to run to our common rooms, so we decided to hide in a broom cupboard. We turned a corner and the troll was there. We ran and hid in the cupboard until the troll smashed the door open. But Kurt was so brave and cast a spell that made something down there fall and crash. The troll went to investigate, giving us time to run here." Blaine said.
"Mr. Anderson, it was very noble of you to come back for your friend but it was also seem as stupid. If that troll had killed you..." She stopped. "Just this once, i will not remove points from your house as it was done by genuine care and love and loyalty. If i see anymore students about, they will be in trouble. You two, get back to your houses immediately."
The two boys ran there as fast as they could, desperately wanting to get back to safety, even if the other wasn't around.

Later on, Blaine found out that he and Kurt weren't the only one to disappear from the group. Harry Potter and Ron Weasley did too, they defeated the scary troll. No one, other than themselves and the teachers knew about what had happened to them. No one would believe them anyway but this would be a story that he would tell his future kids when he was older. Blaine spent a lot of time thinking about Kurt in his arms and how scared he was, also how brave he was to cast a spell that saved them. He didn't even thank him, he remembered. Blaine hoped that Kurt was okay and that he wasn't too scared to sleep that night. When Professor Sprout came in and announced that the troll was gone, they were relieved and could sleep in peace. Blaine had been looking forward to sleep since they got back, that was all he wanted. To slip into his pyjamas and get into his nice, comfy, warm bed and sleep deeply for hours. Blaine ran up to his bed, climbing in it and snuggled down. Sleep didn't come to him immediately, but when it did he dreamt about those amazing blue eyes that he knew so well.
