When Blaine went to leave the hospital, he bumped into Blaine who was sat outside with his head in his hands.
“Burt?” He sat down next to him.
“Oh, hi Blaine.”
“What’s up?”
“It’s just everything, work, Kurt, his blindness. I need to get the house redone and I need to get him so much new things because he’s blind. I’ll need to sort out the school. He can’t go back to Dalton, I’m sorry Blaine but he was much safer at McKinley.” Burt sighed.
“I know. If you need help with money, I can help you.” Blaine offered.
“Blaine, I can’t do that. You know I can’t. It’s wrong of an adult to take money from a boy.”
“But what about my parents? What if I asked my mum and she agreed to give the money?”
“I’ll have to think on it but thanks Blaine.” Burt smiled and patted Blaine’s back before getting up and going back inside.
“Mum!” Blaine called, rushing inside his house. This was one of the only times in the day that she wasn’t busy. He ran to the office where she was usually and knocked on the door, waiting for the voice that told him to come in.
“Oh Blaine, hi honey.” Mrs. Anderson smiled. She looked a lot like Lea Salonga, the resemblance was really strange but his mother was nice, but strict. “Is everything okay?”
“There’s something really important I need to talk to you about.”
“Go on.”
Blaine shuffled into the room and sat opposite his mother, he looked at her and made sure she was looking at him before he spoke. “Well, it’s about Kurt, my boyfriend. Yesterday, I found out that he was blind because of the slushie that Sebastian Smythe threw at him.”
“Sebastian Smythe, as in the son of the man that works with your father?” Mrs. Anderson asked, putting down her pen.
“Yes mum. He blinded my boyfriend and I was wondering if I could have some money so we could help Kurt get some stuff to help him. Like rails for the shower and a cane and one of those letter things that you run your hand over and it tells you the letter.”
“Braille?”
“Yeah that. And a watch so he can tell the time and a computer that’s easier for him to work. Also a new phone because he’ll struggle. Please mum, they don’t have loads of money and what they have, they use for food and to keep their business afloat.”
“I’ll need to talk to your father but the chances are, he’ll reject it. He and Mr. Smythe are good friends and they’re trying to get a big business deal so they can’t afford any fights.” Mrs. Anderson wrote down something, Blaine assumed it was a note to remember to talk to his father about this.
“Thank you mum. It’s just really important and I love Kurt. I love Kurt so much and I need him to be happy. He’ll need to start his whole life over again and learn everything in a new way; I want to be able to help him with that.”
“We’ll see Blaine. I’ll be sure to make those points to your father but I already have an idea as to what he’ll say.”
That’s the best thing that Blaine could ask for, his mother asking but if he said no then he’ll campaign himself. If he couldn’t still get anywhere then... Blaine had a brainwave and got really excited about it. “Thanks mum. Love you, see you later!” He said as he practically ran from the room. He had to get back to Dalton, he had to plan and make arrangements. This was so exciting.
Blaine ran to his room when he got back to Dalton and got his big notepad out and started writing down notes. There was a knock at the door and he told them to come in, it was Thad and Nick.
“Hey Blaine, how’s it going?” They asked with concern.
“I have an idea and I need you guys to help me with it. It’s really important.” Blaine smiled.
“Is it killing Sebastian? I don’t think I could do that.” Thad said nervously.
Blaine laughed. “No it’s not that. Although it’s not a bad idea. I am going to get the Warblers and the New Directions to throw a concert so we can raise money for Kurt’s blindness management stuff.”
