Kurt lay on the hospital bed and stared at the ceiling, well not exactly staring. He relived the conversation with Blaine in his head and cried as he held himself.
“There’s something we need to talk about.”
“What is it? Are you okay?” Blaine held Kurt’s hands but Kurt moved them away, fearing what was going to happen next.
“Feel free to walk out and leave me, any other person would.” Tears started rolling down Kurt’s cheeks as he held himself.
“I am not going to leave you. What is it?” Blaine was no worried and Kurt could see it in his eyes.
“I can’t...” Kurt started before crying more.
“Can’t what?” Blaine asked, reaching a hand out and stroking Kurt’s leg softly.
“I can’t see! The doctor said I’m blind. They operated and nothing! They don’t know if its permanent but I can’t see. I can’t see your face, I can only see black.” Kurt couldn’t look at Blaine, knowing that he would probably break up with him because of it. “Blaine?” Why would he want to be with a blind person? Blaine deserved better than that. Better than him. He didn’t know what was happening because one minute he could feel Blaine’s presence in the room but then the next, the weight of the bed changed and he could hear footsteps running away. He knew this would happen and it only made him cry more. This told him that Blaine didn’t want to be with a blind person.

Blaine continued holding the punching bag and crying into it, just thinking about what he and Kurt were talking about. He didn’t know what to do.
“I can’t see! The doctor said I’m blind. They operated and nothing! They don’t know if its permanent but I can’t see. I can’t see your face, I can only see black.” Blaine just stared at Kurt who was looking away from him. “Blaine?”
Blaine’s world was turned upside down, he didn’t know what to do or what to say. Kurt was blind. His beautiful boyfriend was blind and he just sat there. He needed a minute to think, he needed some time to think about what to do. As much as he tried, the words couldn’t come out of his mouth so he just got up from the bed and before he knew it, he was at the front of the hospital. Oh my god, he’d run out on Kurt. He ran out on his blind boyfriend! What on earth must Kurt think? Oh no, what if he thought Blaine had left him? But Blaine honestly had no idea what was going to happen, Kurt did say that the blindness might be permanent but then he might not. He was so angry that someone so young was blinded in such an evil way. He went to run his hand through his hair, feeling his face was wet from tears that he didn’t even know he was crying.
“He assaulted my boy! He blinded him. His name is Sebastian Smythe and he goes to Dalton Academy. He assaulted my son, Kurt Hummel with a tampered slushie.” Blaine heard, he walked a bit closer to the voice and saw that it was Burt Hummel. He couldn’t see him right now. He needed to think about everything because he had a choice to make. He could stay with Kurt, love him but possibly ruin his future or he could leave Kurt, leave them both heartbroken but have an amazing future career. He needed to know what to do. He got into his car and instantly knew where to go when he needed to think and blow off steam.

Rachel had heard about Kurt from Finn and had been to see him, she knew that Blaine had been there and what he had done. She wanted to know how Blaine was and what he was planning to do about Kurt. So she made her way to Dalton and started walking through the hallways, trying to find Blaine.
“Excuse me, I’m looking for Blaine Anderson.” She asked a few people but no one answered but then she saw some people who she recognised from the Warblers. She called to them and ran over to them. “Excuse me! I’m looking for Blaine Anderson.”
“Blaine Anderson? Are you a spy? We’ve had one before but never a girl.” The blonde one said.
“Wait, I know her. She’s the lead singer for the New Directions.” The larger boy said.
“Yes I am. Rachel Berry, future Broadway star. I’m not available for autographs right now because I’m on a mission. I need to find Blaine Anderson, I’m a friend of Kurt Hummel.”
“Kurt Hummel?! We know Kurt! We love Kurt. Oh, I’m Jeff, this is Nick, Thad and Trent.” Jeff said, pointing to each person in turn. “We don’t know here Blaine is, we’ve been looking for him ourselves but we can help you find him.”
“That would be wonderful, thank you.”
The boys and Rachel were looking all over the school but there was no sign of Blaine. His car was still there but he wasn’t around.
“Wait! I know here he might be.” Thad said and started running, making the others chase after him, calling his name.

They arrived at the gym and saw Blaine crying against the punch bag. No one, but Rachel, had any idea why and they were worried. Rachel stepped forward and touched Blaine’s arm, making Blaine move and hug Rachel tight.
“Shhh, it’s okay.” Rachel rubbed his back. “He’ll be okay.”
“Who? Kurt? Rachel, what’s happened? Is Kurt okay?” Thad asked with worry in his voice.
“No, but he will be.” Rachel said, hugging Blaine still.
“No! He won’t! He’s blind and it might be permanent! That... he’s not even worth the names. I hate him. He did this to Kurt and... I hope he suffers.”
The Warblers stood with their mouths open, trying to take in what Blaine had just said. Kurt was blind; their friend had been blinded by Sebastian. How something had just changed and been turned upside down. It was hard to take in and understand.
