“Blaine? What’s that bag for?” His brother asked at the door, watching as Blaine packed his runaway bag. “Where are you going?”
“Nowhere, it’s just stuff for Dalton.” Blaine lied; his brother knew him too well and knew that he was lying.
“Well the stuff in your bag isn’t stuff you usually take to Dalton; like your photo album or the bear mum got you when you hurt you knee and you had to go to the hospital. Where are you going?”
“Dalton, I told you.”
“Blaine, it’s me, please don’t lie.”
“Kurt and I... we’re running away together.” Blaine looked at his brother, but only just because he felt so bad for leaving his brother behind.
“But why? You have everything here.”
“But I won’t have him! His dad is sending him away soon; he doesn’t think its safe here for him anymore. I can’t lose him, I just can’t. Help me.”
“The only way I can help you if by telling you not to go. Blaine, if they find you, Kurt’s dad won’t ever let you see him again. If you don’t run away then you’ll still be able to talk to him and see him, in some way. Please Blaine, don’t do this.”
Kurt had made his way to the place where Blaine had said they’d meet so they could run away together. It was dark, very dark and surrounded by trees and strange sounds. He sat down on the bench and folded one leg over the other and placed his hands on them. It was pretty cold outside and he was grateful that be brought a jacket. Kurt waited and waited but Blaine didn’t come so he thought that maybe he got the place wrong, but he wanted to wait a little while longer. After an hour and a half, Blaine didn’t show which told Kurt that Blaine didn’t want it anymore. He didn’t want that life with him that they had spent so long planning. Blaine was the main reason that he didn’t want to go away to boarding school or his grandmothers but now it seemed that he should go. Blaine didn’t show which meant he didn’t want to run away with Kurt and be with him so Kurt would leave. Wiping his eyes, Kurt got up off the bench, it was darker now and the lights were flickering. Kurt was scared and alone. He had only got their by following the map on his phone, which had no service so he couldn’t do anything. Suddenly the lights went out and Kurt couldn’t see a thing and grew more scared by the minute. If Blaine were here then it’d be okay but he wasn’t and he wouldn’t be. He wrapped his jacket more around himself and sat back down on the bench, it seemed that he’d have to sleep there tonight and then go home tomorrow. But Kurt didn’t sleep that night, he couldn’t, he was too uncomfortable and couldn’t stop thinking about Blaine. When the sun rose up, Kurt started walking back to his house.
Blaine felt so guilty about not showing up to run away with Kurt the night before; he had changed his mind and forgot to tell Kurt. So he needed to see him and apologise. He got into his car and began driving to Kurt’s house, getting there before Kurt did. He got out his car and made his way to Kurt’s front door, knocking on it. Opening the door was Burt, he looked very tired and upset.
“Have you seen him?” He asked Blaine in a very tired voice.
Blaine panicked, could he be talking about Kurt? Surely not Finn. It would have to be Kurt he was talking about. He shook his head. “No. Why? What’s happened?”
“He’s run away. I went to check on him last night and he and his things were gone.”
“He and I were supposed to run away together. But I changed my mind and decided to stay, I think he’s gone alone.”
Bur t was so angry and grabbed Blaine’s shirt and pulled him close. “You! I should’ve known that this was something to do with you!”
“Dad!” A voice called which made both Blaine and Burt turn their heads. Kurt.
“Kurt, thank god!” Burt ran to him and hugged him. Blaine smiled at him but Kurt didn’t return it.
Burt started to lead Kurt inside the house when Blaine tried to call to Kurt.
“Kurt...”
“I think it’s best if you leave.” Burt said to Blaine before closing the door behind him.
Blaine had screwed up big time, Kurt was so angry with him and it probably wasn’t because they didn’t run away together. It probably was because that Blaine didn’t tell him that he’d changed his mind and didn’t show up, leaving him all alone. He had hurt Kurt, again and he didn’t know what to do to make it right. When he got home, he threw his jacket in anger.
“Cooper!” He shouted loudly, hoping his famous brother would hear him.
“Blaine, what is it?” Cooper asked coming down the stairs.
“He hates me! Kurt hates me because I didn’t show up. He was out there all night waiting for me and the look on his face... I never wanted to see that look when he looked at me.” Blaine’s eyes were watering, he was on the verge of crying. “I think it’s over.”
