“What?” Blaine looked at Kurt a bit shocked. “You want to run away? Are you crazy?”
“No I don’t want to but I’d rather that than them take me from you. Please don’t let them take me away, please.” Kurt clung to Blaine; he really didn’t want to go.
“I won’t, now i’ve got you I’m not going to let you go.” Blaine kissed Kurt’s head and held him close.

“What’s this about Figgins?” Sue asked sitting down on the couch.
“Well you are both aware that Kurt Hummel was attacked and some of our own students were responsible. He was also bullied by David Karofsky, now we cannot let this go and leave Mr. Karofsky unpunished for his part in all this. Also we need a good and proper no bullying policy. We do not want this to happen again, ever.” Principal Figgins told Mr. Schuester and Sue. “Mr. Burt Hummel wants to take Kurt to Vermont.”
“Vermont? But that’s so far away and he has friends here. It was okay when he went to Dalton because he wasn’t that far away. But Vermont? The other kids would be devastated and is this what Kurt wants? Because I doubt it.” Mr. Schue said, leaning forward in his chair. “The other kids have tried so hard to protect him. Yes, it didn’t work but they tried.”
“I know that William but it wasn’t enough. Kurt Hummel almost died because of some of our students. No student, gay or not, should have to go through that. Look at this.” Figgins pushed a photo of Kurt over the desk to Will. It was the picture of what Kurt looked like after his attack, the school had one, Burt had one and so did Kurt. Will gasped at the picture while Sue remained silent.
“Oh my god. I didn’t know he was that bad. What’s happening to the students who did this?”
“They were arrested and currently in a juvenile prison for assault and attempted murder.” Figgins said.
“And Karofsky?”
“He’s been expelled. He won’t be coming back to McKinley.”

“So you, Kurt and your family are moving away?” Mercedes asked, checking to see if she had heard correctly.
“That’s what my mum says; she said it isn’t safe for Kurt anymore.” Finn sighed and kicked the chair. “I get that he was beaten and everything but we shouldn’t have to move. I mean he’ll get over it. There’s no reason why I should have to move away.”
“How could you be so selfish after whats happened. He almost died! When did you get so heartless?” Quinn said, voice raised.
“For once, I agree with Quinn. How could you Finn? He’s your brother.” Rachel looked at him.
“He doesn’t even want to go so why should I have to too?” Finn sighed.
“Because he’s family! He’s been through some pretty bad stuff and he needs his family and to be safe.” Rachel said practically shouting.
“No, what he needs is to be here with his friends and let us help him through it!” He shouted back.
“He needs to be safe and here is not the place to do it, or Dalton. Vermont is gay friendly and he’ll be safe there. It’s probably just until he finishes school and then he can go wherever he wants. I never thought you’d be this heartless Finn.” Rachel picked up her bag and walked out. A few of the others followed her, just leaving a couple of the guys giving Finn mean looks.

It was Burt knocked on his son’s door and waited for an answer. He needed to talk to Kurt about the future and schooling.
“Kurt?” Burt opened the door and looked at Kurt lying on the bed, not moving. “Kurt!” He ran to him and shook him, Kurt winced in pain and stared at him.
“What are you doing? What’s wrong with you?” He asked confused and holding his ribs.
“I thought... Never mind. I need to talk to you.”
“About Vermont?”
“How do you...”
“I heard you talking about it. I don’t want to go dad, I can’t leave Blaine behind. I love him and it would hurt too much and I have my friends here.”
“I had another idea actually, I called your grandmother.”
“You did? Why?”
“Finn doesn’t want to move, he has made that pretty clear and Carole won’t leave him behind so I’m sending you to live with your grandmother.”
“What?!” Kurt sat up bolt right, ignoring the pain in his ribs. “I don’t want to. As much as I love her, I can’t, I’ve given my reasons.”
“There’s no other choice, it’s that or a boarding school.”
Kurt lay back in bed and continued staring at the ceiling, this wasn’t happening, this can’t be happening. He didn’t want to move away, that was the last thing he wanted right now. “Get out.” He said quietly. Burt nodded and left.

“Boarding school? He wants to send you to boarding school?” Blaine shouted down the phone, making Kurt hold it slightly away from his ear.
“Or my Grandmothers, either way I have to move away without my family. Thanks to Finn. I’m basically losing my dad because of him and his selfishness.”
“Let’s run away.”
“What?” Kurt almost dropped the phone.
“Let’s run away and don’t ever look back. That’s the only way we can be together properly without the distance and the worry. I hate being at Dalton and you not being here with me, I couldn’t cope if you went away and I couldn’t see you.”
“You’re serious, aren’t you?”
“Deadly. Come on Kurt, you suggested it the other day, why can’t we?”
“I can’t walk, I can barely move Blaine.”
“Well I doubt that they’d want to move you right now. Don’t you want to run away with me?”
“Of course I do, I love you so much and I don’t want to be without you.”
“Then we’re running away, I love you so much Kurt Hummel.”
“I love you too Blaine Anderson. Goodnight.” And Kurt hung up, lying back on his bed and fell asleep with the thoughts of running away with Blaine.
