Kurt woke up the next day and saw Blaine sleeping next to him on the bed, he smiled a little and raised his hand and stroked his head. He couldn’t remember exactly what happened but what he did know was that he had an amazing boyfriend. He didn’t know what Blaine was doing there either but he was so happy to see him, he needed Blaine and he had him. Slowly it started coming back to him, the photos, the writing on the locker, the jocks and their gestures. He could never go back to school, ever, not after that. He was far too scared to go back and he couldn’t go back to Dalton, maybe he could be homeschooled or move to New York and get an internship. He moved gently and slowly closer to Blaine, so he could be closer and have the comfort of having him there. Blaine woke up and saw Kurt awake and smiled.
“Kurt, hey. How are you doing?” Blaine asked as he sat up a little, not taking his eyes off of the gorgeous blue ones.
“I’m better. I’m awake and I have my boyfriend here, and that is a nice thing to wake up to.” Kurt smiled, pressing a soft kiss to Blaine’s lips. “I haven’t had many of these, I want so many more.”
“Then more you shall get but when things get better. I don’t want to go too far.” Blaine said honestly, he didn’t want to push Kurt and make it seem like he was doing things when he wasn’t.
“Okay, but I have waited far too long to do this.” Kurt kissed Blaine softly again, just because he could. “I love you.”
“I love you too. I’m going to make things right, okay?” Blaine said as he gazed into Kurt’s eyes.
“What can you do? Nothing. What will the schools do? Not a lot. This is my fight to deal with, you don’t have to worry about a thing.” Kurt smiled, putting the hand that was on Blaine’s hair to his face, stroking it.
“But I do worry; I worry about you so much. He is doing this because of me and I won’t let him keep doing this.” Blaine wrapped his arms around Kurt and pulled him closer so they were lying face to face. “I want you to be safe and happy, I want you to be the happiest person in the world.”
“When I’m with you I don’t think about anything else and I’m happy because you make me happy.” Kurt smiled back, he was so smitten right now. “I want the same for you, I need my man to be happy.”
“Your man huh?” Blaine grinned, lightly tickling Kurt who made little “oww” sounds while he giggled. “You are my man and you will be for as long as I get to keep hold of you for.” Kurt said, making sure not to say forever again so he didn’t upset and scare Blaine away.
“Forever, you get to keep hold of me forever.” Blaine smiled back, yes this was what he wanted, to be with Kurt forever.
Kurt’s face was shocked, a happy shocked and so in love. “Really?”
“Yeah, really. I’ve had time to think about it since you said it and yeah, it’s what I want too. I’ve never liked anyone like I like... love you. And if you can love me through all the bad stuff i’ve put you through then I think we can last forever. Get married, have kids, have great careers, love each other, yeah I think we can do that.”
“You know that I love you right?”
“Yeah, I do. And I love you too.”

“Dude, you don’t have any luck with dads.” Puck said as he threw the ball and got it in the basket. “What with Kurt’s dad and everything.”
“Yeah it sucks, its why i didn’t want mum to get married again so we didn’t have to go through this again.” Finn sighed, jumping to grab the ball, dribbling it around the garden before shooting and missing.
“I feel bad for Kurt man, you’d still have your mum and him, he wouldn’t even have that. He’s mum’s dead and his dad is on the way out, I wonder what will happen to him.”
“He’d go live with his grandmother or some random weirdos.”
“Really? He’d have to move away? Oh man that sucks. I’ve just got used to him too.” Puck sighed, tackling Finn. “But I guess it’d probably be for the best anyway, what with Karofsky and those Dalton asses.”
“That Blaine kid ain’t that bad, he’s Kurt’s boyfriend after all.” Finn said jumping and shooting the ball.
“Boyfriend? Wow they’ve come far. So you’re not going to go all protective big bro on him?”
“Why should I? Kurt can take care of himself.”
“Can he Finn?” Puck caught the ball and stopped, standing still and wiping the sweat from his forehead. “Can he really? Finn, Karofsky beat him up and locked him away, is that taking care of himself?”
“I guess not but maybe if he moved away it might get better for Kurt.”
“What might be better for me?” Kurt asked walking into the garden, hand in hand with Blaine.
“You know, when Burt dies you’ll have to move away.” Puck said playing with the ball in his hands.
Kurt and Blaine looked at each other before Kurt walked forward, his face inches from Puck’s. “My dad is not going to die, so there is no “when” and if, IF he does I won’t move away. I’ll stay here.”
“But you can’t, you need a guardian.” Finn said taking the ball from Puck.
“I have one, your mom. Her and my dad married which makes her my stepmother so if anything happened to my dad, I would be placed in her care. God Finn, I thought you were smarter than that.” Kurt sighed, Blaine taking his hand again.
“Come on, let’s go back inside. I don’t want you getting worked up.” Blaine said caringly, not wanting Kurt to collapse again. Kurt nodded and followed Blaine back inside, he only came out to get some air and have a little walk with his boyfriend.
“Well that was awkward...” Puck said quietly before getting hit in the head with the ball. “Hey!”
