Kurt held Blaine’s hand and squeezed it and nodded, Karofsky did hurt him. He hit him and shoved him and kicked him and locked him in the cupboard. “H-he hit m-me and... and he sho-shoved me and kicked me.” He said quietly, tears running down his cheeks as he used Blaine’s hand as support and comfort. “He broke my phone and took it.”
Blaine nodded, that’s why Kurt wouldn’t answer because he didn’t have his phone. “I’m so sorry. Why didn’t you call me before? Or message me on facebook or something. I would’ve come straight to you, helped you. If not me, then why didn’t you tell the others?”
“Because I was scared, Sam and the guys got hurt last time and I didn’t want anyone else to get hurt. I didn’t want them to have to worry about me.” Kurt shrugged, that and he didn’t want to risk his dad having another heart attack. He wouldn’t forgive himself if someone got hurt because of him or something happened to his dad, his dad meant everything to him and if he lost him then Kurt would be alone. He had already lost his mother, losing his father too would destroy him especially if it was his fault, he would never ever forgive himself. Kurt didn’t hear anything that Blaine was saying to him, he had gone off into his own little world.
“Kurt!” Blaine said a bit louder, snapping back Kurt’s attention.
“Sorry.” Kurt mumbled. “I was just thinking.”
“It’s okay. Do you... did he... did he mark you?” Blaine asked, Kurt’s face paling a little. This wasn’t how he wanted Blaine to first see his body, he wanted it to be romantic and for love making.
“Yes but you can’t see it. I don’t want you to see me like that, I’ll show anyone else and they can tell you but not you.” Kurt said honestly, holding Blaine’s hand tight and stroking his knuckles.
“I understand. Who do you want to look? Rachel? Finn?”
“Rachel, I’d feel more comfortable that way but not now.”
“Is it bad?”
“I don’t know how it looks now but last time it wasn’t pretty.”
“We’re going to get through this and we’ll do it together, if anything happens then you tell me and we’ll fix it. We’re together now, you and me against the world, okay?”
This made Kurt smile, hearing that he and Blaine were together and that he was going to be there for him, it meant so much to him. He nodded in response to the question, he moved his chair round and sat next to Blaine, his head slipped down onto Blaine’s shoulder. Blaine’s arm went around him and the other held Kurt’s hand, he remembered when he was bullied and how badly he wanted for someone to help him. He was going to help Kurt no matter what, he was going to be there for him and support him, be the perfect boyfriend for the perfect guy.
Blaine took Kurt home in his car with Puck being trusted to take the navigator back. The car journey was silent, mostly Kurt was thinking about what had happened and Blaine was worrying about Kurt. He kept taking glances of his silent boyfriend, wondering what he was thinking about. Blaine pulled up outside the Hudson-Hummel residence and got out, Kurt still in his own world and didn’t know they were back until Blaine had opened the door to him. He took Blaine’s hand and got out of the car, leading him to the door and taking the keys from Kurt. He unlocked the door and led Kurt inside, Burt’s head shot up and immediately looked concerned.
“Kurt? What happened?” Burt got up and helped Kurt sit down on the sofa, Blaine sitting next to him with his arm around him.
“Karofsky, he’s been bullying Kurt again. This time it’s worse, even more physical. He’s been hitting Kurt and kicking him. I found him locked in a cupboard at school, apparently he’d been there since midday and I only found him an hour ago.” Blaine informed his boyfriends dad, both of them not taking their eyes off of Kurt.
“Kurt? Is this true?” Burt asked and watched Kurt nod, his heart breaking at the fact that his son was getting hurt because of who he was. “Are there any...?” Kurt nodded before he could even finish. “Can I see?”
“C-can I go in the kitchen and do it? I don’t want Blaine to see.”
Burt nodded and led Kurt to the kitchen, helping get his shirt off and gasped at the bruises on his back and front from being slammed into the locker with such force and from being kicked. He saw the mark on Kurt’s arm too. After helping Kurt with his shirt, he led him back to the sofa.
“How bad?” Blaine asked, taking Kurt’s hand in his, this went unnoticed by Blaine.
“Bad enough, tomorrow I’m going to the school and we are getting him expelled. He can’t get away with that. I won’t let him.” Burt had a sudden pain in his chest.
“Dad?” Kurt spoke, his voice broken and holding back scared tears.
“I’m okay.” Burt forced a smile and sat down, there was another pain this time he clutched his chest. Kurt got up and ran to his dads side. He looked back at Blaine with tearfilled eyes which broke Blaine’s heart, this was the last thing Kurt needed.
“Dad?” Burt’s face paled. “Blaine, call an ambulance, get help. Please! Dad!”
Within minutes, Burt collapsed, Kurt screaming at him to wake up but it wasn’t happening. He was right, this was going to give his dad a heart attack, and this was his fault. Blaine had to pull Kurt off of his dad and hold him back, his own tears being forbidden to fall. It wasn’t long later that the ambulance arrived and examined Mr. Hummel. They looked at Burt then at Kurt before continuing with their work.
“He’s not breathing, begin resuscitation now.” One of them said.
