The kiss was lovely and sweet, both of them were smiling and happy, Kurt’s arms moving around Blaine’s neck and Blaine’s arms were around Kurt’s waist. When the kiss was broken, they both stared at each other for a minute or two.
“I don’t think I could handle having time to myself, not knowing that you are here and that I‘m so crazy about you.” Blaine said softly, their foreheads leaning together and them both smiling like idiots.
“I would’ve waited forever for you.” Kurt said quietly back.
“Forever is a very long time Kurt.”
“That’s how long I want to be with you for...” Kurt instantly wished he could’ve taken that back because Blaine’s face was unreadable. “I’m sorry, i shouldn’t have said that.”
Blaine backed away slowly, Kurt was scared that he had scared him away and it turned out he had. Blaine quickly said goodbye before rushing out of the house, Kurt stood shouting at himself in his head for being so stupid. He was so mad at himself for what he had said, but it was true he did want to be with Blaine forever, but then it did sound like some silly teenage fantasy. He was about to go after Blaine when he heard a car drive away and guessed it was Blaine. He went outside to see that it was Blaine that had driven away; he slammed the door in frustration prompting Finn to come running down the stairs.
“Hey dude, what’s with the slamming?”
“Sorry Finn, Blaine just left.” Kurt sighed, sitting down on the sofa and running a hand through his hair.
“Are you okay?”
“No, I royally messed up. I need to make things right but I don’t know how, I need Mercedes.” Kurt said as he got out his phone and sent a text to Mercedes asking to meet.
“Can I help?”
“Thanks Finn but I don’t think you’d have a clue how to help. I finally got him and then I messed it up.” Kurt got a reply from Mercedes to meet him at the Lima Bean to talk. “I’m going to meet Mercedes, I’ll see you later.”

“Blaine?” Thad walked into the practice room and saw Blaine looking out of the window, he looked deep in thought. He tapped Blaine on the shoulder and looked round to see if he was okay. “Blaine, are you okay?”
Blaine turned his head to look at Thad and shrugged. “I don’t know. I was feeling so great earlier and then... I think I ruined it with Kurt.”
“What happened?”
“He was being so sweet and I think we were getting together and he said something and I freaked out.” Blaine sighed and closed his eyes, lowering his head as he shouted at himself in his mind.
“What did he say?”
“He said that he would’ve waited for me forever...”
“That’s nice, what’s wrong with that?”
“It wasn’t that, it’s what he said after. I said that forever is a very long time and he said that’s how long he wanted to be with me for...”
“Oh... What did you do?”
“I didn’t know what to do or say, I just backed off and walked out. He apologised but I just left. His face, he looked so upset. God what have I done? This is why I wanted time to be single, so I didn’t keep screwing things up and I could work out how to be in a relationship.”
“It’ll be okay Blaine, just talk to him and explain that it might’ve felt forward.”
“I can’t Thad, I don’t know how i’m going to be able to see him after that. I should’ve just stayed and we could’ve talked but no, I ran like an idiot!”
“You’re not an idiot, you didn’t expect that. I know how he feels about you Blaine, everyone knows. You have choices, go see him and explain, wait a while then talk to him or move on.” Thad said honestly, he didn’t want Blaine to move on or Kurt, he wanted to see them together and happy.
“He makes me crazy, he always has. I’m crazy about him but look what’s happened in the past month, things keep getting worse for us. I want to make it better so badly but I don’t think I can, I want to be his friend and something more desperately but it won’t work.”
“You don’t really give it a chance Blaine, you kiss him then tell him to wait, you kiss again and he tells you he wants to be with you forever because he likes you that much. I think it’s you Blaine, you either want it to work or you don’t, you’re playing him around and you need to stop. He’s at McKinley now, you didn’t help with that at all, if anything you pushed him there. I’m sorry Blaine, I know you don’t want to hear it but it’s true.” Thad said before patting Blaine’s shoulder and leaving the room, leaving a stunned Blaine standing there wandering if he was right or not.

“Boo?” Mercedes called out to a daydreaming Kurt as she sat down opposite him.
“Oh hey.” Kurt said finally noticing Mercedes, he weakly smiled at her before taking a sip of his coffee, pausing and them realising that it wasn’t his usual order, this was Blaine’s order.
“Are you okay?”
Kurt shrugged in reply, he didn’t really know, he had just ruined everything and he didn’t know if he still had his best friend. “I don’t know Cedes, I mean I really like Blaine, I love him but I just mess everything up. I told him that I want to be with him forever, how pathetic is that? I scared him off.”
“Well I happen to think its sweet and romantic, it’s usually the drippy “sap” that Rachel and Finn come out with but with you and Blaine its more believable.” Mercedes tapped the top of her cup, watching Kurt with sad eyes. “Sweetie, if its meant to be then it will be.”
