Thad had snuck out of the practice room to go and find Kurt; he was genuinely worried about him and thought that he might need someone to talk to. The poor kid had been shoved for the Warblers doing so it was only fair that he tried to make it right. He didn’t know where to find him, he tried his room first, then the dining room, everywhere that Kurt would usually be but he wasn’t around. He had decided to go for a walk outside, see if he was out there, he doubted it but there was no harm in trying. He looked around at the huge, beautiful school remembering his first day there, he came there just like any other child would go to a public school, and he didn’t transfer for any reason. The gardens were beautiful, very green and colourful, full of flowers and life which he loved; it was a passion of his. People usually thought that Thad was gay because of his love of flowers and other plants but he wasn’t, he was into girls but he just hadn’t had much luck with them, he stuttered whenever he spoke to one who wasn’t a relative, he got shaky and blushed like mad. He was only a small boy, he was often referred to as a mouse since he was quiet and didn’t speak much. It wasn’t like he didn’t speak at all because he did; he was just one of the quieter Warblers. He almost passed out during his audition for the Warblers, he was so scared, and he had never done anything like it before.

He continued walking through the gardens when he heard what sounded like someone crying, he thought it might be Kurt so he made his way to where the sound was coming from. Thad look behind the tree to find Kurt there, all curled up and crying. He felt so bad for him, he just wanted to help. He went to reach out to him but was a bit hesitant before actually doing it.
“Kurt? It’s Thad, are you okay?” He asked quietly before sitting down next to the crying boy. He watched the boy shake his head which prompted him to put his arm around Kurt and pull him closer.
“I’m scared Thad.” Kurt said quietly so that Thad could only just hear, he knew he could trust him, he raised his head and looked at his friend, wiping the tears away with his sleeve.
“What are you scared of?”
“I’m going back to McKinley...”
“Why? Didn’t you leave because some guy bullied you? Why are you going back?”
“I don’t really have a choice Thad; my dad can’t afford the tuition fees. I have to go back.”
“But what will happen? Do you think that he’ll come after you again?”
“Maybe, he will be so mad at me for getting him suspended. He’ll want revenge.”
“You can’t go back.”
“I don’t really have a choice do I? Please, please don’t tell Blaine, he’s got enough on his plate as it is, I don’t want him worried about me, if he’ll even be worried. He’ll probably hate me for going back.” Kurt shrugged, getting out a tissue to wipe his nose.
“Hate you? Kurt, Blaine could never hate you. He’d be worried out of his mind, honest. I don’t know if you’ve noticed but Blaine has feelings for you, Kurt.”
Kurt laughed a little at that. “No he doesn’t, he said he didn’t and he said he never would. And Oliver knows Blaine pretty well and he even says that Blaine will hate me.”
Thad sighed. “Kurt, Oliver isn’t right. I’ve known Blaine longer and the way he is with you... He’s never been like that with anyone, ever. He obviously doesn’t know which one of you he wants, you or Daniel. Daniel is a bit weird but he’s nice but you... you and Blaine are soulmates. He cares so much about you, he could never hate you.”
“So I should tell him?”
“Yes you should tell him, you shouldn’t keep that from him. He’ll be annoyed if you don’t tell him, he won’t hate you but he’ll be annoyed.”
“Oliver told me not tell him.”
That sighed again and ran a hand through his short hair. “Oliver isn’t right Kurt, far from it. I think he has a thing for Blaine and he’s just trying to get you away so he’s in for a chance.”
“He wouldn’t, would he?”
“Maybe, I don’t know. I don’t like the guy in all honesty. He strikes me as strange and unstable. You shouldn’t trust him Kurt.”
Kurt sat there in silence for a minute before realising something. “Oh god, I told him things, I told him secret things and he can use that against me.”
“How bad?” Kurt said nothing. “Kurt?”
“Blaine and I... we almost kissed. I tried talking to him about it and ask what it meant but he said that nothing almost happened and nothing will ever happen. But recently I’ve found myself thinking about him more and I dream about him and the dance. God this is so hard Thad, I’ve never loved anyone like I love him.” Kurt dropped his head back into his lap. Everything was such a mess and he hated it, he wished he didn’t love Blaine, he wished that he didn’t feel like this, he wished he was home.

Thad didn’t know what to say to him, he knew that Kurt loved Blaine and he could see that Blaine had feelings for Kurt; he just didn’t want to admit it.
“Well if it makes you feel any better, Blaine was looking for you, he said he needed to see you and make sure that you were okay.”
“He... He what?” Kurt looked up to make sure that he had heard right. “He said he needed to see me?”
“I think he and Daniel have broken up.”
“What?” Kurt’s heart skipped a little but was also sinking thinking about how sad and devastated Blaine must be.
“He was mad and annoyed with the Warblers for pushing you two together and he said that they should’ve known that he was with Daniel, he started saying “I am” then he changed it to “I was with”. Kurt please don’t blame yourself for this...” Thad said but he was cut off by Kurt.
“But it is my fault, oh my god poor Blaine. This is all my fault, I should’ve left Blaine alone, I should’ve left ages ago.” Kurt got to his feet, wiping more tears from his eyes.
“Where are you going?” Thad asked with concern.
“I don’t know, just away from here.” Kurt said quietly before walking away, slowly turning into a run so Thad couldn’t follow.

Blaine was walking down the hallway, trying to find Kurt still when he saw Thad running down the hallway, stopping in front of him and out of breath.
“Blaine... I’m glad I f... found you... It’s Kurt.” He told Blaine.
“What? Is he okay? What’s happened? Take me to him.”
“He’s... He’s leaving...”
