Author's Notes: Mrs. Anderson decides that Blaine is better off with her than Kurt and decides to take him home.
“Kurt, you haven’t long come out off surgery so you can’t see him just yet. Please rest and we’ll take you to see him later.” Burt told his son.
“No, I need to see him now. You both have seen him and you’ve told me things but I want to see him for myself. I need him to know that I’m okay and I’m going to be there for him no matter what. I’ll go in a wheelchair if I have to; please dad just let me see Blaine.” Kurt pleaded.
Burt eventually gave in and got a wheelchair for Kurt, helping him in gently and covering him with a blanket so he was warm. He wheeled his son to Blaine’s room and to the bedside where Blaine’s mum was.
“Hi Kurt.” Blaine’s mum said. “How’re you doing?”
“I’m okay; I just needed to see Blaine.” Kurt reached out and took Blaine’s hand.
“He’s doing okay, he’s sleeping.”
“Can I have a minute on my own with him please?”
Burt, Carole and Mrs. Anderson left the room leaving Kurt alone with Blaine. He immediately started crying and kissing Blaine’s hand.
“Oh baby, look at you. Everything will be okay, I promise and I will be there for you no matter what. I love you baby and I need you to be okay. I want to marry you as soon I can but I need you to wake up and walk again. I need you so much baby. I had surgery earlier; there was a shard of glass in my side that needed removing because it would’ve killed me. But they removed it and I’m okay now, I just needed to see you. I’m going to spend as much time here as I can with you and I’m going to help you get better.”

A couple of days passed and the doctors decided it was time to wake Blaine up, Kurt was once again in the wheelchair as he demanded to be there. They said it would take a while for him to wake up but Kurt stayed there until he did. Kurt lit up when he saw Blaine’s eyes open, they filled with tears and he squeezed on Blaine’s hand.
“Blaine? Oh my god baby.” Kurt cried with a huge smile on his face.
Blaine said something but it didn’t come out in actual words, more like a slur. Kurt understood that he couldn’t talk yet so he just smiled at him and squeezed on his hand.
“It’s okay baby, I’m here. I’m not going anywhere, I promise.”

After a while Blaine could speak again, he was slow and had a stutter but Kurt didn’t care, he was happy that he had his Blaine back.
“Y-you’re alive.” Blaine smiled at Kurt. Kurt could see happiness and relief wash over Blaine’s face. “I tho-thought you were dead.”
“No I’m okay. I had to have some surgery though; there was a big piece of glass in my side that was stabbing my organs so they had to remove it.”
“I’m glad you’re okay.” Blaine’s face went from smiling to panic. “I can’t feel my legs. Why can’t I feel my legs?”
“I’ll get the doctor so he can explain it.” Burt said, turning to leave the room.
“No! I want Kurt to tell me.” Blaine looked at Kurt. “Please tell me why I can’t feel my legs.”
Kurt couldn’t believe that Blaine had asked him to tell him. “You have a fractured spine which means you’ll have to be in a wheelchair for a while and learn to walk again.”
Blaine sighed and pressed his head more into his pillow, tears running down his cheeks. He put his hands over his face and sobbed into them. Kurt felt really bad and wished he could cuddle up next to Blaine to help him feel better, but he was in pain himself.
“Sweetie, I will help you get better I promise.”
“Get out! All of you get out!” Blaine shouted.

Burt took hold of the handles on Kurt’s wheelchair and pushed him back to his own room, Carole and Mrs. Anderson following them. They helped Kurt get back into bed and watched as he curled up and hugged his pillow. Burt had no idea how Kurt was feeling but he could guess. All he wanted was to help Blaine and he was told to leave but he could also understand why Blaine did it. He was just told that he’ll be in a wheelchair and have to learn how to walk again. It must’ve been hard to take in and he could understand why he’d need a minute to himself. Burt and the women decided to give both boys some space and went to get some food and coffee. As soon as Burt left the room, he heard Kurt crying and was tempted to turn round and go back to him but he knew that he needed a minute to himself.
“I think it’s only right that I take Blaine home with me when he’s released. I have a great private doctor that he can see to help him recover.” Mrs. Anderson said before taking a sip of coffee.
“No, you’re not taking him with you. You have a vile husband and I won’t let you take Blaine back to him and besides he’s engaged to Kurt now, he should be with him.” Burt said with a mouthful of tuna sandwich.
“They’re engaged?! Since when? Why didn’t Blaine tell me?” Mrs. Anderson screeched.
“They have been for a while now and I guess Blaine didn’t tell you because he didn’t want your husband to come and beat him up.” Carole jumped in.
“I’m still taking Blaine home with me so he can have the best treatment. Kurt can come and see him if he wants to but Blaine is coming with me. I can afford the best treatment and I am his mother and I’m going to do what is best for my son and that is him coming home with me.”
