Burt got up and walked through to Kurt’s room, watching as they wired him back up. He wasn’t wearing a shirt and he had a large bandage over his side. He had more colour in him now that he was stitched up, he had lost a lot of blood because of the glass. The doctor finished sorting Kurt out and walked to Burt.
“Kurt is doing better, we’ve had to give him some blood and we successfully removed the large bit of glass and repaired the damage. He should wake up soon but if he doesn’t then we’ll really need to do a head scan and especially since he’s been in a coma before, we’ll watch over him carefully.” The doctor said.
“So he’ll be okay?” Burt asked hopefully.
“Yes he’ll be okay.”
“Thank you so much!” Burt smiled and gave the doctor a handshake. “What about Blaine?”
“Well they’ll take him for some tests but we’re pretty sure that he has a damaged spine and will need to be in a wheelchair.” The doctor informed Burt.
“Oh god. Will he be able to walk again?”
“We’ll let you know after the tests.” The doctor said before leaving the room.
Burt walked to Kurt’s bedside and stroked his son’s hair, not caring about the blood in it. They hadn’t washed him properly yet but there was a couple of stitches on his head and on other parts of his body. The doctors said that there was a large shard of glass in his side and it was stabbing into his organs. They had to remove the glass and patch up the damage before he bled out but now he was okay, according to the doctor. They would have to keep checking for infection but was on the mend and now they just had to wait for him to wake up. He sat next to him and watched his little boy sleep; this was the third time in a year that his son had been in a serious incident. There was the time that the McKinley jocks beat him up, then that Sebastian punk threw a tampered slushie in his eyes and blinded him and now this. He wished that he had sent him to his Grandmothers because then he would’ve been safe from everything.
Carole kept coming between the rooms, sitting with Blaine for a while then coming to see Kurt. Rachel sat outside to give Burt some privacy with his son but she really wished she was there. Carole had told her that she tried to contact Finn but there was no answer to Rachel kept trying, he deserved to know that his step brother was in a serious accident and almost died. He still could die. Finn would be so angry if he didn’t know about Kurt, whether he was fine or not. Every time Rachel tried she got voicemail, which made her groan in frustration and stop trying for a while.
An hour later, Kurt’s eyes opened making Burt sit up straight and smile. His boy was alive and okay.
“Kurt, it’s me kiddo, your dad. How’re you feeling?” He asked, squeezing on Kurt’s hand.
Kurt was wearing an oxygen mask and kept trying to pull it down but the nurse in the room told him not to take it off. He spoke but it came out really quietly so Burt couldn’t hear what he was saying. He leaned in closer and heard what Kurt was saying.
“What happened?” Kurt only just managed to get out. “Where am i? Where’s Blaine?”
What could Burt tell Kurt other than that Blaine was alive? Well he was alive for now, he wasn’t doing very well at the moment and he really couldn’t tell Kurt just yet that Blaine’s heart stopped a couple of hours before. He just had no idea what to tell his son.
This was so awesome. After chapter 1 you had me convinced that Kurt was dead so it was nice to see that he was alive and that Blaine, although not in the best of shape, was alive as well. I can't wait to see what happens next for the boys and to see why no one can get in touch with Finn.
I planned it so that everyone thought Kurt was dead and them BAM! he's alive :P Yeah poor Blainey, he's in worse shape. I'm looking forward to writing what happens next with the boys, more drama to come than any kind of fluff. And Finn's just a pain in the ass
