“I’m meeting with the florist today baby, want to come?” Kurt asked his fiance, hoping to get him outside for a bit. “It’s at the Lima Bean.”
“No thanks.” Blaine replied, going back to the magazine he was reading. “Who is going to look after me?”
“Dad is, he’s taking a couple of hours off to come and look after you.” Kurt finished getting his bag ready, leaning over to kiss Blaine’s head when he was done. “I love you, i’ll see you soon.”
“Love you too.”
Kurt met up with the florist at the Lima Bean because the florist had come from New York, he wanted to go somewhere and sit and look through different samples. He took what Blaine wanted into account and told the florist what they both wanted, which was basically the same thing. The florist, who was a man to Kurt’s surprise, told Kurt that he could have whatever he wanted.
“You seem like there’s something on your mind. We could do this another time if you want.” The florist said.
“No, it’s fine. My fiance and I had a really bad car accident not long ago and he’s in a wheelchair. He’s finding the adjustment really hard and I have to look after him and plan this wedding too, he wants to be walking for the wedding day.” Kurt sighed and took a long sip of his coffee.
“It’s good that he’s got goals but he’s exhausting you, isn’t he?” He saw Kurt nod and put his hand on Kurt’s arm, giving it a comforting squeeze. “When he’s walking again, it’ll go back to normal and you can focus on your future.”
“I want to get back to normal. I know its not his fault, he’s getting so frustrated that he can’t do the things that he used to and its making him angry. He yells at me a lot now and he’s angry a lot but then later he tells me that he loves me. I know he loves me but I’m tired of being yelled at.” Kurt wiped his eyes to stop the tears from falling.
“I understand.”
Burt walked into the living room and saw Blaine with a magazine in his lap and reading. He really thought that Blaine would go with Kurt to look at the flowers, but clearly he was wrong.
“You didn’t go with Kurt then?”
“Obviously.” Blaine snapped.
“Hey! Kurt may let you get away with being rude to him but I’m not going to tolerate it. My son is doing everything he can for you and you’re just treating him like crap, that’s not you. I understand what you’re going through and its frustrating but don’t take it out on Kurt. Do you know what things like this do to someones self confidence? It can destroy it. It’s taken Kurt a long time to build up that confidence and I don’t want you to knock it down. Now, i’m going to take you to the Lima Bean and you are going to sit with Kurt and look through flowers or whatever it is he’s looking at.” Burt grabbed onto Blaine’s wheelchair and pushed him to the car, helping him get in it. He drove Blaine there and helped him out, watching as Blaine wheeled himself inside.
Blaine got inside the Lima Bean and looked around for Kurt, and then he located him at the back of the room with another man. He assumed the florist was going to be a woman. He wheeled himself closer and saw the man’s arm go onto Kurt’s and squeeze it. There was a huge flood of jealousy and anger washing over him. He turned round and went back out of the door, to Burt’s car.
“You’re back already? I haven’t even managed to turn the car around yet.”
“Take me home. Now.”
So Burt did.
Kurt came home later with a booklet in his arms, excited to show Blaine the ideas he and the florist had. He walked into his bedroom and saw Blaine staring at the window, so he walked over and kissed Blaine on the cheek.
“How was the florist meeting?” Blaine asked.
“It was great! We looked through different flowers and narrowed down our choices.” Kurt smiled.
“Didn’t look like that when I got there.”
“You were there?” Kurt asked confused.
“Well you clearly didn’t notice since you two were all over each other!”
“What are you talking about?”
“You two! You failed to mention that the florist was a guy or was it because you were too busy fucking him!”
“Nothing is going on between me and our florist. I promise.”
“So why did he touch your arm like that?”
“Because I was upset. I was upset because you haven’t been treating me very well lately and it upset me.”
“But you see that’s the perfect reason why to go off with another man. Do you know what, i can’t bear to look at you right now. You’re making me feel really sick so i want you to go. Get out and I don’t want to see you again.”
A pain shot through Kurt’s heart and his eyes welled up with tears, before he could argue that nothing happened, his hand was held out and Blaine’s engagement ring was slammed into it. Blaine was really breaking up with him. It was over.
“You heard me you disgust me! Get out!” Blaine shouted.
“I...”
“Don’t talk to me! Just go!”
Kurt cried hard as he left the house, rushing against the car, he got into it and cried as hard as he could. Nothing happened between him and the florist. He couldn’t even fight and tell Blaine that, he tried. Maybe when things calmed down a bit. He held the engagement ring in his hand, thinking about all the happy times he and Blaine had together. He then thought about Blaine doing all the things with another guy when he moved on and it really hurt.
Comments
This was really sad but really good. It was sad to see Blaine treat Kurt the way that he did and I hope that Kurt will make him work for his forgiveness. I also enjoyed the fact that Burt stood up to Blaine and refused to be treated like crap. I can't wait to see what happens next.
Well Blaine broke up with him so they might be apart for a while, he strongly believes that Kurt cheated so he won't try and get Kurt back without proof that he didn't. He wouldn't take Kurt back if he really did cheat. Burt Hummel is the best, he wouldn't let Blaine treat him like that or even Kurt, he's an amazing dad.
