The car smashed into side of the car, pushing the car for a while before it flipped over completely and landed on its roof. There were screams and screeching from stopping cars and there were voices outside the car, someone was calling an ambulance and there was someone saying that there was a dead person in the car. Kurt... No! He can’t be dead.
Blaine’s eyes shot open and realised what happened, everything was blurry and his head hurt like crazy. He coughed and turned his neck, which was in agony, and saw blood. But it wasn’t his blood, it was Kurt’s. He saw that Kurt’s eyes were closed and there was blood in his hair and on his face.
“Kurt?” He attempted to say, it came out all raspy. “Baby?” There was no answer which made him panic. Oh god... Oh god no please no! Blaine nudged Kurt with his nose but his head just flopped. Blaine’s heart raced and he was crying, he hoped so badly that his Kurt wasn’t dead. “Kurt, please baby wake up! I can’t lose you, you promised you’d never leave me so please don’t.”
“Hey! There’s an alive one!” Someone shouted and crouched down to the window. “You alright kid?”
Blaine looked over at him and saw just a normal guy talking to him. “My Kurt, he’s hurt. Help him please.” He managed to say before everything went black.
Burt Hummel was a simple man; he loved football and family and was very honest and honourable. He loved his son more than anything, he was his whole world and knowing that he had almost lost him once pained him so much. He never wanted Kurt to die while he was still alive, he wanted Kurt to die a very old man. Nothing could have prepared him for what happened next.
The phone rang, making the man get up off the chair and answer it.
“Burt Hummel, who is calling?” He said down the phone. A few seconds later his face paled and he dropped the phone, his knees weakened and he fell.
“Burt?!” Carole shouted and ran into the other room, seeing her husband crumpled on the floor. She saw the phone on the floor and picked it up, holding it to her ear. “Hello? I’m Carole Hummel-Hudson, Burt Hummel’s wife, what’s happened?” She gasped and held her hand to her mouth, eyes welling with tears. “No! Oh god. We’ll get the first flight there.”
She hung up and put Burt into her arms, cradling him and kissed his head as she rocked him back and forward.
“Not again... This can’t be happening again.” Burt cried into her chest.
“Come on honey, we have to go there.”
Burt got the first flight out there, he needed to get there and find out what the hell happened to cause the accident that he heard about over the phone. His boys were in this accident and someone died in it. He was shaking in fear, anger and heartbreak which forced Carole to take his hands and hold them in hers, she was terrified herself but she couldn’t break in front of Burt. She couldn’t believe what she had heard over the phone, she needed to see it for herself but as a nurse she knew what it meant. Kurt was the last thing that kept the memory of Elizabeth, Burt’s dead wife, alive. Just like Finn was the last thing that kept the memory of Carole’s dead husband alive and they didn’t want to forget them. Blaine was like a son to them and he and Kurt were supposed to get married, not get into a terrible car accident which resulted in a death. Once they got off the plane, they got into a taxi and told the driver where they wanted to go.
“We’ll have to take a longer route, hope that’s okay with you guys. It’s just there was a really bad accident on the normal route, someone died, a boy from what I heard.” He driver said as he began driving.
Burt squeezed on Carole’s hand, trying to keep from shouting at the guy who was just trying to make conversation.
“My son was in that accident.” Burt said quietly.
“Oh shit dude! I hope he wasn’t the one that died.” Burt said nothing.
Rachel was expecting Kurt and Blaine, she knew they were in New York because their plane had landed a few hours ago but they hadn’t arrived to see her yet. She was getting impatient and had left lots of messages on Kurt and Blaine’s phone. She decided to call them one more time. But what she wasn’t expecting was an answer.
“Kurt?”
“No, it’s Burt Hummel.”
“Mr. Hummel? Where’s Kurt? He’s supposed to be here with Blaine, what’s happened?”
“Kurt and Blaine were in a car accident. You should get here.”
“Are they okay?”
“You should get here.”
Rachel felt so guilty, she had yelled at Kurt and Blaine on their voicemail, calling them names and saying all sorts and it wasn’t even their fault that they’re not there. Kurt’s dad never said what was wrong with them both, whether they were okay so what if... oh god... What if one of them was dead? Oh god, what if it was Kurt? Rachel started crying at the thought of it; she loved Kurt like a brother. If he was dead... She forced herself to not think like that and got a bag together before heading off to the hospital. She got there and looked around for someone to tell her where to go and who to look for. She asked the receptionist who gave her a funny look before sighing and told her to go to a certain floor. She got up there and saw Burt sitting down with his head in his hands and Carole rubbing his back soothingly. She started walking over when she heard two people talking about the accident.
“I was actually there when they pulled him out, it was so horrible and there was blood everywhere, it’s a shame really that he died because he was really beautiful, he had a fair face and his hair was a gorgeous chestnut brown. There was no saving him, me and the guys tried.” The woman said.
Rachel gasped; she held her hand to her mouth and began crying. She only knew one person who had chestnut brown hair... Kurt.
Comments
This was really good. My heartbroke when Blaine was trying to get Kurt to wake up and he didn't respond. I can't wait to see what happens next and to see how everyone deals with the loss of Kurt.
I might even update tonight if you're lucky
