Author's Notes: A sad chapter but i did want to stick with some of the stuff that glee did so here we go
It was now time for Dianna’s first scan, Burt was getting just as excited as Dianna was and decided to take up more hours at the shop which worried Kurt that he was over doing himself. Kurt tried his hardest to take care of his father, make sure he ate healthily and didn’t over do things but now his father was getting stressed and it wasn’t good for him. The summer was almost over and Kurt was getting really excited about his senior year, he couldn’t wait to apply for NYADA and leave Ohio. Blaine was applying too and was just as excited; they would do this together and be happy. Kurt was so excited about his future with Blaine, for once in his life he thought things just might be okay. There was a loud bang on his front door, he had no idea who it was since he wasn’t expecting anyone, the banging continued so he ran down the stairs to answer it. There at the door was Blaine and Dianna but the looks on their faces were anything but happy.
“Kurt, it’s your dad.” Dianna said.
“What about him?” Kurt asked, now worried.
“He had a heart attack at work, we tried calling but there was no answer.” Dianna answered.
“I was in the shower, i didn’t hear the phone. Is he okay?”
“You should go to the hospital, i’ll drive you.” Blaine said.
Kurt nodded and put on some boots and his jacket, getting what he and his father needed together before joining Blaine and Dianna outside. Blaine took his hand and led him to the car, holding the door open for Kurt and Dianna before getting in himself and driving them there. They got there and found where Burt was and waited and waited for news. The doctor arrived a while later and told Kurt what was wrong with Burt and led him there. Kurt stood by his father’s bedside and cried. He remember the day that his mother died, it was the worst day of his life. He really couldn’t lose his father too. He felt someone take his hand and saw that it was Blaine; he leaned into him and cried into his shoulder.
“I’ll stay at your place until Burt gets better, you shouldn’t be alone.” Blaine said as he pulled Kurt into a hug. “He’ll be okay, I promise.”
Dianna entered the room and walked round to the other side of the bed; she leaned down and touched Burt’s head.
“I can’t lose him Blaine, he’s my dad. I’ve already lost my mum, i can’t lose him too. I love him and I still need him, i’ll always need him.” Kurt cried.
“You won’t lose him sweetie.” Dianna said sweetly. “He’s a strong man and you know him, he’s a very stubborn one too.”

Kurt was angry at the world for doing this to his father, he was already mad at it for taking his mother but now he was furious. Everything was finally okay, he wasn’t as angry at his father and he as getting used to it all now and he and Blaine were having their honeymoon period. Everything was so good right up until this. He had the most amazing boyfriend to take care of him, but he felt bad because all Blaine seemed to do was take care of him. He hadn’t taken care of Blaine the way Blaine took care of him, but if something did happen to Blaine then Kurt would take care of him. He stayed with his father until he was told he had to leave and he went home with Blaine. Blaine led Kurt inside and told Kurt to sit down on the couch while he made him some food and a hot drink. By the time he finished making them dinner and their hot drinks and returned to Kurt, he saw him asleep on the couch. He found a blanket and draped it over Kurt and kissed his head softly. He wasn’t mad at Kurt for falling asleep, if anything he was worried about Kurt. This year had been a really rough year for his boyfriend, he deserved better. He was glad that he could be in Kurt’s life and take care of him, he was much better than what he was. He was a jerk before he and Kurt got together and he was making up for it every single day. He hated who he was back then and now he was being who he truly was, the man that loved Kurt more than anything. He regretted promising Kurt that Burt would be okay because if it came to it and something happened then Kurt would be angry at him for promising that he would be okay. He ate the meal he made and drank his drink before getting ready for bed. He didn’t want to disturb Kurt and move him so he went to sleep in Kurt’s bed; he knew that Kurt would be okay with it.

In the middle of the night Kurt woke up and realised what happened, once again he fell asleep when he was with Blaine. He sat up and remembered he was on the couch but he didn’t remember having a blanket... unless Blaine put it over him. Where was Blaine anyway? Kurt got up and went to see if Blaine was in the house or if he’d gone home. Blaine had said he’d stay in the house so he must be somewhere. He went to his room and saw Blaine curled up in a ball asleep in his bed; he smiled to himself before walking over to the bed, getting in it and wrapping his arms around Blaine from behind.
“Thank you baby, thank you for being there for me and being the best boyfriend in the world. No matter what happens, i’m never saying goodbye to you, i could never do that. It’s you and me against the world, I love you so much.” Kurt leaned over and kissed Blaine’s cheek before snuggling really close and falling asleep against him.
