There was a faint knock at Blaine’s door, he hoped that it wasn’t his father or a guard or someone like that but to his surprise it was his mother. Blaine unlocked his door and invited his mother inside.
“Mum, what are you doing here?” Blaine asked as he led her to a chair, her eyes went straight to Kurt on the bed.
“Do you love him, Blaine? Are you really gay? Is this really what you want?” She asked simply looking from Kurt to Blaine.
“I do love him, I do. I am really gay and yes this is what i want more than anything.” Blaine smiled widely back.
“Your father will not want you here after this, I still love you son but he is angry.” She handed him a large bag. “In this bag is a lot of money, it will keep you going for a long time. You and Kurt can have your long and happy life together, just write to me whenever you can and when you get married. Write to me, tell me, i want to be there and pay for it because no son of mine is having a poor persons wedding.” She laughed a little.
“Mum, i want you to do some things for me.” Blaine asked looking over at Kurt and motioning for his mother to follow him. “I want you to get dad to stop the servants from getting beaten and to start getting them treated better. Better food, better clothes, just better everything.” He pulled up the sleeves to the robes and showed his mother the scars on Kurt’s arms before pulling down the back of the robe and showing her the cuts on his back. The queen looked almost as horrified as Blaine had done when he saw it.
“Oh my...” She said, hand to her mouth.
“He got it the worst because dad knew he’s gay. His supervisor, one of them, went against the rules and hit him more times and in a place where he shouldn’t have.” He looked sadly at his mother.
“Poor boy.” The queen had tears in her eyes as she looked at Kurt, he looked so peaceful and happy sleeping with Blaine beside him.
“Mother, when i leave with Kurt can you take in his step mother and make her your hand maid? Don’t let anything happen to her, please.
“I can do that, i need a new one. Tina isn’t very good so maybe his step mother will be better, what is here name and where can i find her?”
“Her name is Carole and she works in the kitchen. Kurt won’t leave with me until he knows that she is safe.” Blaine said sadly.
“She will be safe, i promise you. I know you can make him happy and I hope he can make you happy in return.” She smiled a little as she headed towards his door. “I love you my Blaine.”
“I love you too mum.” He smiled at her as she left the room. Blaine snuggled back up with Kurt, putting Kurt’s head back onto his chest as he held him close and fell asleep beside him.

The pair woke up hours later, all snuggled up in each others arms. They smiled at each other and shared a sweet good morning kiss.
“Kurt, how do you feel about marrying me?” Blaine asked stroking Kurt’s hair.
“Is this a proposal?” Kurt asked with a giant smile.
“Yes it is. So Kurt Hummel, will you marry me?” Blaine repeated his question.
Kurt’s eyes began to water, he couldn’t believe that Prince Blaine was asking him to marry him. “Yes! I say yes! But wait... aren’t you supposed to marry a princess or something? Your dad would never agree to this.”
“I abdicated, Kurt. I’m no longer the prince.”
Kurt was stunned. “You didn’t do this for me did you? Because for one that would be very romantic but it could lead to anger, resentment which could lead to a horrible and nasty break up.”
Blaine laughed. “No baby, I did this for me. I need you so if i can’t marry you as a prince i shall marry you as a commoner but you will have to help me readjust.”
Kurt melted at the name he was called. “Yes, i’ll help you. But we have no money and i have Carole here.”
“My mother has sorted Carole; she now works for my mother so she is going to be better treated. I asked her to make my father stop the beatings and give the servants better treatment.”
Kurt was overjoyed with what Blaine had told him, he kissed him to say thank you. Blaine got up and helped him up before going through his clothes and finding all his “ordinary” clothes. Handing one full outfit to Kurt and telling him to change into them. Once he was done and Blaine was dressed, they packed everything they needed to before going down to the servants quarters to say goodbye to everyone and invite them to the wedding, of course not all of them down there were invited but select few were. Kurt picked up his small doll and put it in his bag, after saying all their goodbyes they took all their stuff and the money and left for their new life together.

Kurt and Blaine married not long after, the ceremony wasn’t big but it was beautiful, the queen was there like she said she would be. The boys lived in a cottage on the outskirts of the town, it was beautiful and hidden so no one could interrupt them. They were both happier than they ever had been and their joy only grew when they got their children. A family full of happiness and love was all Kurt and Blaine could ever ask for and they all lived happily ever after.
