Blaine wanted to take back his bag from Kurt and carry it himself, but he knew that Kurt probably wouldn’t let him. He didn’t around the house like Kurt did, he’d been here millions of times before and would much rather look at Kurt. “Alrighty then, come on. We’ll be back here one day, one day soon.” He said, taking Kurt’s arm and shielding him slightly as they ran out into the rain.
“I know, i know. But not for a while.” Kurt said as they ran out to the car, as Blaine got in, Kurt stopped at the trunk putting Blaine’s bag in. He ran to the passenger side getting in. “Well look at me, i’m wet again.” He looked down at what he was wearing very grateful that he wasn’t soaking, just a tiny bit wet.
Blaine got in the car after unlocking it and making sure that Kurt had put his bag in the trunk. He was a bit more wet than Kurt was, but he didn’t care, since it would dry quickly. “I am tooooo, I wonder how that could’ve happened.” He teased, looking back at the house through the pouring rain before pulling away and starting their drive home.
“I can’t believe we’re actually leaving. We’re going home.” Kurt said looking at the house as they drove away, he turned back to look at Blaine when the house was out of sight. “So many amazing memories in that house. I can’t wait to go back there.” He said putting his arm around Blaine since he would need both hands for driving.
“Oh believe me, we will be back. Like I said, I go there every single summer, and this year I fully intend on taking you.” Blaine said with a smile as Kurt put his arms around him. He wanted to look over at Kurt, but the rain was pouring down hard on the car and the roads were really twisted and curvy, making Blaine have to concentrate more on the road.”
“I know you do, remember i’m actually driving down myself to meet you. You sir need to make me a map, or get me one either way i need one.” Kurt shrugged looking at Blaine, he decided to try and talk less since the rain was heavy and it would be harder to drive, he didn’t want Blaine to lose concentration.
“Then I shallllll.” Blaine said, noticing after a few minutes that Kurt had stopped talking. “Do you want to turn on the radio or write in your journal? Sorry… it’s a bit hard for me to be talking and concentrating on the road at the same time.”
“I know, thats why i stopped talking so you can concentrate. I’ll just sit and watch for a few minute and anyway my journal is in my bag, so i can’t do that.” Kurt shrugged looking out of the window, not being able to see much since it was still raining heavily.
“I can stop and get it real quick. I don’t want you to be bored, sorry about that by the way. It’s just a bit hard to concentrate in the rain. But it’s worse in the snow.” Blaine said, looking over at Kurt a bit and raising his eyebrows at him. He wanted Kurt to be entertained and happy, not bored.
“Its fine honestly, don’t stop lets just keep going.” Kurt suddenly remembered something. “Er Blaine, i think we’ve forgotten something, two things actually. Things that you love a lot and are not in the car, they’re in the bedroom.” He said looking at Blaine seeing if Blaine remembered.

Blaine looked over at Kurt in confusion when he said he forgot something, instantly tuning around when he realized what he left. “My guitar and ukuleleeeeee.” He said with a pout, pulling back up to the house and parking the car. “Here. While I go back up inside to get my instruments, you can get your journal. Sound good?”
Kurt couldn’t believe that Blaine had forgotten two of his prized possessions, Kurt nodded when Blaine asked if it sounded good so when Blaine got out of the car so did he. He went round to the trunk and opened it finding the right bag and pulling out his journal and pen quickly before running back to the car, leaving the trunk open for Blaine.
Blaine ran up to the house and then up to their bedroom, looking around and smiling as he remembered their memories in that room. He found his guitar and ukulele and grabbed them before running back down the stairs and out to the car. Blaine put the instruments in the trunk before running back in his car, looking over at Kurt and smiling.
Kurt watched Blaine run from the house, he would have got out to help him but he knew that Blaine would have just told him to go back to the car. He smiled at Blaine when he got back in. “I’m impressed, that was pretty quick. I was expecting you to take your time.”
“I didn’t want to keep you waiting.” Blaine said with a shrug and a smile, backing out of the driveway and starting their drive back home. He expected for Kurt to write while Blaine drove, so he concentrated more on the road and the fact that it was really hard to see each turn, thankful that he could drive this road in his sleep.
Kurt didn’t actually write anything, instead he turned the next empty page in his journal and started drawing, taking glances of Blaine every few minutes. He knew that it was best if he didn’t say anything since Blaine needed to be able to concentrate on driving and not their conversation.
Blaine knew that it wouldn’t be forever that he would need to concentrate as much, just until they got out of the forest of windey roads and reached the interstate. As soon as he got there, he would be able to start up a conversation with Kurt and not have him bored.

Kurt wasn’t actually a bad drawer, when he was in class with Blaine when he was bored he would usually start to draw doodles of the two of them. Blaine loved them and he often gave them to Blaine. This doodle though didn’t include Kurt, just Blaine and someone else.
Blaine stole a glace over at what Kurt was doing, surprised to see that he was drawing instead of writing. “Whatcha doing there?” He asked, smiling at him before looking back at the road, concentrating on both that and whatever Kurt was saying in response.
“I am drawing.” Kurt said simply, it was harder to draw with a pen than a pencil. He looked at Blaine smiling, even more when he saw the smile on Blaine’s face. He looked up at the road quickly to see if the weather had cleared up at all, but it hadn’t, he turned his attention back to Blaine.
“Welllll, what is it that you are drawing?” Blaine asked, looking back over at Kurt with a smile before looking back at the road. He absolutely loved it when Kurt drew, his doodles especially were Blaine’s favorite. He had no idea what Kurt was drawing right now and was honestly curious.
“I am drawing you and Andrew, baby Andrew. Papa Blaine and his son.” Kurt smiled more thinking about it. He looked back at his drawing, swirling his pen a bit creating Blaine’s hair, it wasn’t his best drawing but that was because he didn’t have his other drawing stuff.

Blaine grinned when Kurt said what he was drawing, a picture of him and Andrew. “That sounds amazing.” He said with his grin, looking down at it in Kurt’s hand and grinning even more before looking back at the road. “I love it when you draw. We both know that I can’t draw, so it’s awesome when you do.”
“I know you love it and i know you can’t draw, which is more the reason why i do, for you. You can keep this one. I’m finished with it, i’ll give it to you later. I have the perfect idea for my next drawing.” Kurt smiled turning the page, starting to draw again not saying anything more since he knew Blaine had to concentrate.
“You’re going to keep drawing?” Blaine asked, his grin increasing. “What are you gonna draw now?” The rain had cleared up a tiny bit and the road was less windey, so he could ask Kurt things like that and maintain a small conversation while concentrating on the road ahead of him.
“Do you have a problem with me drawing?” Kurt asked grinning knowing already what the answer was. “I am going to draw us in the rain.” He smiled widely thinking about their romantic kiss in the rain, how amazing and magical it was. He had to remember to write it down in his journal when he got around to writing.
“Oh no no no nooooo, I love it when you draw.” Blaine said, concentrating on the twisty road for a second before grinning insanely over what Kurt was drawing next. “Ah, that kiss in the rain. It was amazing, if I do say so myself.” He teased, being honest as he did. That kiss really was amazing.
“It was truly amazing, much more amazing than i ever dreamed it would be. But then again you are more amazing than anyone or anything, excluding myself of course.” Kurt teased, laughing as he spoke. For some reason he was drawing them in their Dalton uniform, habit he guessed.
“Oh of course. You’re the most amazing ever.” Blaine said with a small laugh, wishing that the rain would stop. He didn’t particularly like driving in the rain, it always made him a bit nervous. But he knew this road very well, even if it was twisty and not the easiest to drive on.

Kurt looked up from his doodle and at Blaine, who looked nervous. “What’s wrong?” He asked, tilting his head slightly to look at Blaine’s face. His arm was still round him, his hand stroking Blaine’s arm as he wondered what was wrong. He didn’t have a clue since that morning had been so amazing.
“Nothing really. Just driving in the rain always made me a bit nervous.” Blaine said honestly, he didn’t want to lie to Kurt and say that everything was fine since Kurt asked him if something was wrong. It was a weird thing to make him nervous, he knew that, but he couldn’t really help it.
“Do you want me to take over? You’re here so you can tell me where to go, i don’t want you feeling nervous or uncomfortable.” Kurt offered, he wouldn’t have minded at all if Blaine wanted to swap round. He completely got it why he was feeling nervous about driving in the rain.
“No no, it’s fine, it might be harder for you with the combination of the windey road and the rain, and it’s not to bad. Thank you though, really.” Blaine looked over at Kurt and smiled reassuringly at him, he didn’t want Kurt to be nervous about driving the Vermont roads in the rain either.
Kurt smiled back, he was reassured but he didn’t want Blaine to be nervous, it couldn’t be helped unless the rain stopped. “Okay then, but if you want to swap just say.” He said as he went back to his doodle, at the moment he was drawing Blaine.
“I will.” Blaine smiled before turning back to the road, humming a bit under his breath as he did. He wondered if Kurt was still drawing or had started writing, but he figured if Kurt was writing he might read it aloud as he did. But then again, he might not.

Kurt started drawing the rain, practically scribbling and having fun like a three year old child trying to draw. His tongue poking out the corner of his mouth as he concentrated on his drawing, he was having a lot of fun while drawing, he always did.
Blaine looked over at Kurt and saw how his tongue was poking out while he was drawing, making him bite his lip. “You’re so cute, you know that? You really are.” He said, leaning over a bit and kissing Kurt’s cheek before looking back at the road, thankful that the road was straight while he did that.
Kurt grinned hearing Blaine speak and feeling the kiss on his cheek. “Thank you, you’re pretty cute yourself.” He smiled. He showed Blaine his drawing. “That one is you and this one here is me. For some reason i can never draw us the right height, we seem to be the same height or you look the tiniest bit taller. I don’t know.”
“Hey, I don’t mind. Draw me taller as many times as you would like.” Blaine said with a larger laugh, turning his head a bit to look at Kurt’s decks drawing. “That one is really good, I love it. I love all of your drawings, but whenever they’re of us, I love them even more.”
“You’re always tall in my pictures, i know how much you like it.” Kurt smiled wider after hearing what Blaine thought of his doodle. “They’re always of us, except the time i drew a cat. I was bored but i really only draw us, but now with Andrew and Elizabeth i have more to draw.”
“Sounds good to me. As long as you show me what you draw, I’ll be a happy camper.” Blaine said with another smile, the rain letting up slightly bit the roads becoming more twisted. He knew that it wouldn’t be too much longer until he got to the highway, but it still wouldn’t be instantly.
“I’ll always show you, you know that. I want my Blaine to be a happy camper, i like it when he’s happy, it makes Kurt happy which then makes Blaine happy which makes Kurt happy, its a cycle.” Kurt said with a laugh. “Hmmmm what should i draw now?” He then had an idea and he started drawing.
“We have so many cycles….” Blaine noticed with a laugh, grinning from when Kurt called him his Blaine. He loved it when Kurt said that. He looked back to the road as Kurt began to draw again, wondering what it was he was drawing but knowing that he didn’t have to ask since Kurt would show him when he was done.
“We really do, but i love all of them.” Kurt smiled. He really liked his pen, it could change colors just by clicking the button thingy. He started coloring in part of his picture, they never took that long for him to do, this one just had him in but he knew that Blaine would still like it.

Blaine started humming again, resisting the urge to look over and see what Kurt was drawing. He had to concentrate on the road, Kurt would show him later, once he was finished with it. “Having fun over there? Not bored at all?”
“I’m drawing and i’m with you, how could i possibly be bored?” Kurt said looking up from his drawing and at Blaine, he knew that Blaine wanted a look and he turned his journal in Blaine’s direction. “I know you want to look, so here you go. This is what i have so far. Thats your jumper by the way”
A grin instantly popped up on Blaine’s lips when he saw Kurt’s drawing, it was really good, as usual. “You’re even adorable in your drawings.” He said through his grin, looking from the road to the drawing and back up at Kurt, much preferring the last view the best.
“Why thank you,” Kurt smiled seeing the grin on Blaine’s face. “You can keep all of these ones. I like it when you keep my drawings, other people would throw them away but you don’t.” He said as he started focusing more on his hair in his drawing.
“Why on earth would I through them away, they’re amazinngggg.” Blaine said, still grinning. He was inching his way closer to the highway, but it would still be a bit. Kurt would probably draw more or write until he could have more of Blaine’s attention.
“I know you wouldn’t throw them away, i know how much you like them, which is mainly why i draw so many.” Kurt smiled as he finished that doodle. He turned the page and was about to start writing, not sure if he should read what he was writing aloud so Blaine could hear or just go on writing silently.
“Well goooooddd, I love how many you draw me. I love them alllll.” He was still grinning, the windshield wipers making a steady beat, and Blaine started humming along again to it as the rain poured down on the road, which was still twisty and curvy.
Kurt decided not to say anything since he could tell that Blaine was concentrating. He clicked his pen and starting writing. “We’re leaving Vermont today, i don’t want to go. I really don’t and neither does Blaine. I upset him again earlier, i don’t mean to do it, i just do. Everytime something amazing happens, i have to go and spoil it. I brought up Jesse, i told him some things that hurt him, i could tell which part hurt the most and that was when i said that i didn’t he would be fully serious until he started fighting. I never meant to say that, i know he’s serious about us or i wouldn’t be wearing the ring that i’m wearing as i write.
Blaine was still humming softly to himself as he heard Kurt’s pen start to move faster, he looked over for a second and saw that Kurt was now writing. He didn’t want to distract Kurt, so he decided not to talk and just to let Kurt write as he focused on the road and rain ahead of him.
Words cannot describe how bad i felt for saying that, i apologized but Blaine said i had nothing to apologize for. All i want is for him to fight with me, not against me or not at all. But we’re fine now, i thought he was really mad at me but he wasn’t, he just cuddled me and held me like the amazing man that he is. I love him, i really really really do. He gave me something that i had only dreamed of today, a kiss in the rain. He held me, kissed me and spun me round just like one of my romance movies, as i have described it so many times to Blaine, it was magical.” Kurt wrote with a smile.

Blaine looked over and stole a glance at Kurt, seeing him smile and smiling himself due to that cycle of theirs. It worked with smiles, happiness, and even sadness. If one of them smiled, was happy, or was sad, so was the other. They were wired that way. He looked back to the road, drumming his fingers along the steering wheel in time to the windshield wipers.
Kurt heard the drumming on the steering wheel making him smile more. “We got soaked though, all the way through we had to get new clothes. But my main concern was getting Blaine warm and dry, i didn’t want him to get sick again and just i had to get him warm and dry. He sat on my lap today, twice. The first time my leg went dead but that was nothing to do with Blaine, i just hadn’t move it in a while so he gave me a piggy back which i loved. He also sat on me while we were drying, that reminds me i still have his pink socks on, remind me later to give them back once they’re washed.
Blaine stole another glance over at Kurt, who was still in his Dalton hoodie and punk fuzzy socks. He was happy about that, it probably meant that Kurt was warm right now. He wondered what Kurt was writing about, but knowing if Kurt read aloud he wouldn’t be able to listen to it well since he had to concentrate on the road.
There isn’t much i can write about at the moment, the day hasn’t long started but yet its been so amazing. We’re driving to the hotel at the moment, i’ve been doodling while Blaine has been driving, he’s concentrating on the roads right now otherwise i would read this aloud to him and i would talk more to him. I don’t want him to lose concentration, he’s nervous enough as it is.” Kurt stopped writing and turned the page, wondering whether to doodle again or not.
“And here we finally are, at the highway.” Blaine announced when he finally reached the highway after a few minutes, smiling as he did. That meant he could talk to Kurt better and let him have more of his concentration. He wondered if Kurt was sleepy at all, and if he was he wanted Kurt to get some sleep sometime while he drove.
Kurt smiled looking over at Blaine, that meant they could talk now, not have to sit in silence. “Hi,” Kurt said starting off their conversation. He was very sleepy but he didn’t want to fall asleep on Blaine while he was driving, he didn’t want to leave him alone with no one to talk to while he slept, he would feel rude doing it.
Now that he was on the highway, he only needed one hand to drive. His arm wrapped around Kurt and gave him a squeeze, wondering how sleepy Kurt was. “Hi there yourself. How did the journal writing go? Did your hand get cramped up?”
“Nooo my hand didn’t get cramped up there was just nothing left to write about since i last wrote. Would you like me to read you what i wrote?” Kurt asked smiling at Blaine. He liked reading Blaine what was written in his journal, he didn’t keep anything from Blaine so he shouldn’t keep his journal from him.
“Sure, if you want to read it to me, go ahead. I’ll be a good listener.” Blaine smiled and gave Kurt a squeeze, still having his arm around Kurt. He hoped Kurt was comfortable that way, if he wasn’t Blaine would move his arm.

Kurt leaned a little more into Blaine as he went back to the page, smiling up at Blaine. “Well since i don’t hide anything i should at least read it to you. It can be like a story for you.” He smiled more. “Right here we go, “We’re leaving Vermont today, i don’t want to go. I never meant to say that, i know he’s serious about us or i wouldn’t be wearing the ring that i’m wearing as i write”
Blaine held his breath when Kurt started talking about the thing that had made them both cry, not letting it out until Kurt paused while he was reading. He really really hoped that Kurt didn’t mean it when he said that he wouldn’t know if Blaine was serious about them until he started to fight, which broke his heart hearing Kurt say that. “You didn’t spoil anything, I promise. We’re perfectly happy now, you didn’t spoil anything.”
Kurt nodded when Blaine spoke, he didn’t believe it but he just didn’t continue on with it. “I never meant it you know, when i said that i didn’t think you were serious, i’m so sorry i said that. I really didn’t mean to, i don’t even know why i said it, i didn’t really know what i was saying. I’m really sorry.” Kurt looked down back at his journal, he had never felt so guilty about anything in his life apart from when he declined dinner with his family before his dad had a heart attack.

Blaine looked over at Kurt when he looked down at his hands, tightening his grip around him and kissing the top of his head. “Hey, it’s okay, I get it that you didn’t mean to say it. You don’t need to feel guilty or apologize about saying it if it isn’t true. Accidents happen, you know? Things people don’t mean to say and don’t think at all just slip out sometimes. But… but thank you. For telling me that you didn’t mean it. For a second there, I thought you really didn’t think I was serious about us.”
“But i do feel guilty, i broke your heart, i made you cry, i made you feel terrible. I deserve to feel guilty and as bad as i do, you don’t understand how sorry i am that i said it. I really really really really am sorry, i know that you’re serious. I know you are otherwise you wouldn’t have proposed and if i didn’t think you were serious i wouldn’t have said yes. I’m sorry.” Kurt said quietly playing with the corner of his page of his journal.
Blaine kissed the top of Kurt’s head again and held him closer, one hand still on the steering wheel and the other gently playing with Kurt’s hair. “Shhhh, it’s okay. I’m not mad and no longer upset, if I was we wouldn’t be sitting like this. It’s okay, Kurt, I know you didn’t mean to say it. But it’s over now, isn’t it? You don’t need to stay guilty, okay? I love you.” Blaine kissed the top of Kurt’s head for the third time after saying that, still playing with Kurt’s hair.
Kurt nodded, still feeling really guilty, maybe it was going to go later. “I love you too.” Kurt said quietly before resuming his reading. “Words cannot describe how bad i felt for saying that, i apologized but Blaine said i had nothing to apologize for. He held me, kissed me and spun me round just like one of my romance movies, as i have described it so many times to Blaine, it was magical.
