Author's Notes: Second chapter:-) I will update this story every weekedn, but I'm doing this on Friday as I'm off on holiday tomorrow! I hope you all enjoy it, please rate and review!:-)

Kurt loved New York. The atmosphere was amazing. The buzz was amazing. It had been a week and two days since he left Lima and he was over the moon. He started NYADA today. The feeling of missing Blaine still lingered though but he felt strong. He stayed strong because he knew Blaine would be too. He held up his head, and hand in hand with Rachel he looked up at the magnificent building. Stepping onto the grounds he knew the world would never be the same again.

"We made it!" Rachel exclaimed, beaming beyond belief. "We're finally here, Kurt!"

"I know, Rachel. Broadway here we come." And with that the two divas ran towards the academy like it was going to disappear. "Just wait until I can tell Blaine about this!"

Blaine lay in bed, is blanket over his head so that he was in darkness. It has been a week and 2 days since Kurt left, and everyday felt the same: empty. Every text and call made his heart skip a beat. When they were from Kurt his eyes would fill with tears of joy and his heart would be mended momentarily. But when it wasn't, when it was "How are you holding up?" or "Hope you're okay man." From the glee clubbers and warblers, it felt like the world beneath him was falling. He appreciated the thought but really, he just needed Kurt. He needed Kurt to hold him. He needed the hot breath on his neck, the laugh and voice that sounded like an angels. He needed Kurt, before things got too bad.

He had had depression before, he had felt the pain, the shame of the fact he wanted to die. The fact he wanted to cut. He never did. He was too afraid of the other people's taunts. But he had wanted to so badly. He was scared now; he felt some of those emotions coming back. He needed Kurt there now to help him fight them off, because around him now, he could feel the world turning grey.

Kurt and Rachel ran back inside the apartment buzzing from the amazing first day. Rachel ran straight to Finn smiling a broad smile and practically jumping with excitement as she told him all the contents of her day. Finn just laughed as they went to sit on the sofa, she sat on his lap and he listened intently almost laughing at how cute she was when she was excited.

Whereas, Kurt ran to his room dialling that all too familiar number: Blaine

HI Blaine!

Hey sweetie, have a nice day?

YES! I'm in Mrs Ganheed's class for music and she is just brilliant...

Kurt rambled on to his boyfriend, Blaine smiled at the sound of Kurt's voice, he was happy, so happy for him. He loved the phone call, every minute of it, laughing along at his stories and just purely cherishing the sound of his voice. They stayed on the phone for an hour. They said their goodbyes.

Goodbye, Blaine. I love you and miss you.

Goodbye, my love. I love you and miss you too.

He hung up.

"More than you could ever know." He fell to his knees the way he had done just over a week ago at the airport. But this time, his sobs were not silent they were loud and painful. They made each breath harder to take, and he just stayed there crying. When the tears had gone he rolled up into a ball on the floor and went to sleep. Nothing mattered anymore.

-

Kurt hung up. He smiled to himself as a single tear slid down his cheek. That phone call was brilliant. He felt so overcome with love for Blaine. He had missed that voice and he had been afraid that he would've felt or sounded distant, but it seemed like the same old happy Blaine, and that thought warmed Kurt's heart.

He locked his phone and stared at the wallpaper, him and Blaine in the Lima Bean cafe. He could remember every single detail and word in the conversation. He laughed to himself and reached out to take Blaine's hand in his as he stood up.

But there was nothing there.

Kurt sighed. Life with Blaine had become too normal after Blaine had moved in with him Burt Carole and Finn.

He could remember that day clearly.

-

Kurt looked at his phone as he picked it up, Blaine's face came up on the screen, as Kurt slid his finger over the screen to answer, something felt wrong.

Kurt. Help.

Blaine, what's wrong?

I'm scared.

Of what honey?

My Dad.

Kurt froze. He knew this couldn't be good.

Blaine, are you okay? Has he hit you? What do you need?

No. Yes. Comfort.

Blaine, how bad is it?

I, my, my head, it's cut, and my arm hurts and it's bleeding and I, I keep tasting blood and coughing it up.

Blaine, get out of there now.

Okay...I'm leaving now. One moment.

Kurt was shaking holding the phone to his ear as he got in the car. He put his Bluetooth on and began to drive to Blaine's house.

Blaine, honey, are you still there?

Yes. I'm out. Where can I go now though? There was a hitch in his breath as he said this.

To the corner of the street. Wait there. I'm coming to get you.

Thank you Kurt. Thank you so much.

Just hang on Blaine. Hang on.

-

Kurt had spent the next 2 days in the hospital by Blaine's side. He had moved in with them straight after that. They had shared a bed ever since.

That was what they both missed the most; the warmth next to them, that thing to hug, a lifeline in a bad dream and just someone to hold in a good dream. They both hugged a pillow each night to remind them of the other one. They both couldn't sleep otherwise.

But it was the small things-like reaching for a hand-that had become so very normal that it was weird to not do them. That was when it finally hit Kurt. That was when it finally hit him that there was no hand. That hand, that body was back in Lima without him. But little did he know, that however much he was missing that hand. It missed him a hell of a lot more.

Blaine woke up. Opening his eyes as if the light would blind him, he felt Carole's hand on his shoulder, he was no longer on the floor but on his and Kurt's bed. His bed now. He looked up at her with his hazel eyes, which were bloodshot now, and glazed over with tears. He hadn't wanted her to see him like this. He wanted everyone to think he was strong.

Carole took one look at him and hugged him tightly, shushing him as she rocked him in her arms. She knew. She could tell he had been faking the entire time. She also knew all too well, that if Kurt saw him, even when he was pretending, that he would know too.

Blaine was shaking. He was so overwhelmed. His Mum had never been this nice to him. Here he was with Kurt's Mum, and she held him like she would with either of her two boys. He croaked out, "You know you don't have to do this right, I'm not even your son. I mean, I can even leave if you want me to..."

"Blaine Anderson! You be quiet right now! You're Kurt's boyfriend right?"

"Yes..."

"You like it here?"

"Of course I do, I just, I..."

"Then this is your home, your bed, your room and Burt and I are your parents!"

Blaine held back a sob as he clutched on to his new "Mum" and overcome with relief and love spluttered out.

"Thank you so much. Thank you."

"It's okay sweetie, I'm right here. But like a Mum would for her son the next time you feel alone or upset, you need to tell me okay. Promise?"

"Yes...of course I will. Thank you Carole. Thank you."

End Notes: Poor Blainers. I feel mean writing this...oh well! Don't hesitate to review and rate!:-)
