Chapter 17:
Blaine could feel the wind gently blowing against his face as he looked into the distance, the air was warm and soft just like the hands holding his waist and the head gently leaning on his shoulder.
The world seemed to come to a standstill as the sun set slowly in the distance, everything surrounding him seemed to slow down and he put his brain on stop, just trying to memorise everything around him. Even though, he was sure there was no way he was ever going to forget this trip. It was only the first night, they hadn't even been to Disneyland yet, they'd been out touring around the city and in as many shops as they, well Kurt, possibly could, and to end the day they had headed up onto the Eiffel tower to watch the sun set over Paris.
"Paris is amazing." He remarked to nobody in particular as he held onto the rail.
Kurt hummed in acknowledgement behind him, and kissed him on the cheek gently. "So you're glad we didn't sell the tickets then, love?" Blaine teased Kurt, twisting his head around to look at him.
"Are you crazy? Of course not! I love it here, and I love you." Kurt replied happily. Blaine turned around in Kurt's arms, with a smile and kissed him gently. "Well good, because I love you too." Blaine smiled as he pecked Kurt on the lips again. As he pulled away, he swore he'd never seen Kurt look that beautiful before. His eyes were almost glowing and his lips and skin looked so soft, his smile was lighting up, even as the darkness fell behind him, the orange glow of the evening sun illuminating the outlines of him and honestly, Blaine couldn't breathe.
"Blaine, is something wrong?" He asked as his smiled dropped and he put his hand to his face, as if to check if it had anything on it.
Blaine gently removed Kurt's hand from his face and held it tightly. "Nothing's wrong, I promise."
"Are you sure? You're looking at me weirdly." Kurt questioned, still with a nervous look on his face.
"If I'm being honest.." Blaine began, and Kurt breathed in a harsh breath, as if bracing himself. "I've never seen you look this gorgeous." And with that, Blaine closed the distance between them in a kiss as the sun set on Paris behind them.
"We missed the sunset." Kurt remarked as they pulled apart.
"It was worth it." Blaine breathed and sealed the distance between them once more.
-
That night Blaine and Kurt had stayed up until 6am, which was midnight to them, and they went to bed, planning to wake up at 12, and explore the park, slowly adjusting to the time difference.
At about 7am, Blaine was wrapped in Kurt's arms in bed after an hour of Blaine attempting to hold Kurt and failing due to the massive cast on his arm. When Kurt began to slowly dose off, Blaine smiled to himself and listened as Kurt let out a quiet snore, and slowly got out of bed, trying not to wake up Kurt, he kept quiet as he put his clothes back on, only wincing a little at the pain, and then managed to waste another precious fifteen minutes getting stuck in his sling whilst attempting to put in on himself for the first time. Once he had managed to sort himself out, he kissed Kurt once on the head and quietly left the hotel room, smiling to himself as he headed back into the town.
Blaine arrived at the shop, he knew what one he needed to go to, and he knew what he needed to buy. 2 items, one would be for the journey home, and one would be for future use.
Blaine had thought of proposing before, but he kept thinking about how young they were, but Kurt was 22 now, and Blaine was 21. He still thought they were young though, so he wouldn't be doing it too soon, but Kurt had loved that ring so much, and wouldn't it be romantic for him to pull out a ring he bought a while back in preparation? He thought so, but he was still nervous. What if Kurt found it and freaked out?
No. He said to himself. You're not going to over think this. Walk in there, buy the ring and the bracelet, and give him the bracelet on the flight home, and save the ring. You know you'll need it, and when you do, you'll regret it if you don't have this ring.
He sucked in a deep breath and opened the door to the shop. He could do this.
-
Kurt awoke later with Blaine's good arm wrapped around him and smiled to himself, he turned around so he was facing Blaine and kissed him on the nose to wake him up. Blaine mumbled something incoherently as he squeezed his eyes shut even tighter before opening them to reveal those shining honey eyes that always made Kurt's heart skip a beat. "Good morning sunshine." Kurt said softly.
"More like afternoon." Blaine laughed looking over Kurt's shoulder at the clock that displayed the time of 2:30 pm.
"Crap!" Kurt exclaimed as he jumped out of bed, "We were supposed to look around the park today, and if we don't get orientated today, we might miss something or get lost or-"
"Kurt! One, we've been here before and two, we have five more days." Blaine rolled over in bed, and grabbed Kurt gently by the arm and pulled him back into bed, and covered them back up. "So, I say, we stay in bed until 3-ish, then head out and explore the park until around 10, then have an early night so we wake up at a reasonable time tomorrow. What do you say?" Blaine asked as he slowly began kissing up and Kurt's neck .
"Blaineee...we've got to get up..." Kurt whined half heartedly as he leaned into Blaine's kisses.
"Mph, no we don't" Blaine hummed against Kurt's ear as he nibbled gently at the lobe. Kurt didn't even respond, he just turned around in Blaine's arms and pulled him into a heated kiss. Blaine's tongue rubbed against Kurt's bottom lip, asking for entrance and Kurt happily obliged, letting Blaine take full control of the kiss. Blaine continued to map out the inside of Kurt's mouth as Kurt let out a soft moan from the back of his mouth. Blaine tried to roll them over so he was on top of Kurt, but Kurt took the opportunity to take dominance of the kiss, and roll them back over so he was on top.
Unfortunately, this caused Blaine to let out a yelp of pain as Kurt put pressure onto his ribs, which he tried to change into some sort of sexy growl, but there was no hiding it. "Shit! Blaine your ribs, I'm so sorry!" Kurt gasped, as he quickly jumped off of Blaine in panic and helped him sit upright.
"It's okay, love." Blaine comforted Kurt, ignoring the overwhelming pain coming from his broken ribs. "Where were we?" He asked, leaning in for a kiss, but was met with a pill touching his lips.
"You were taking your pain medication, which I know you have been ignoring." Kurt staded matter-of-factly.
"They make me feel all fuzzy though, and I don't want anything to interrupt this week, it's supposed to be perfect!" Blaine whined, as he pouted letting his puppy dog eyes shine brightly as he stared into Kurt's eyes, knowing full well what he was doing and knowing full well the result it would deliver.
"Fine..." Kurt sighed as he took the pill back. He walked into the en-suite bathroom and returned with half of the offending pill, and a glass of water. "Half dosage and we'll see how you feel today. I'm not having you worsen your ribs, or your arm for that matter, just because we're in Paris. We don't have a busy day planned, so if you feel fuzzy we can take it slow, and then tomorrow we'll get you some weaker pain killers. Deal?"
"Deal." Blaine smiled, happy with himself that he had pulled it off.
"Good, now let's get dressed and get going then."
-
As planned, they spent the day exploring the park, and they even managed to find an entire section they had somehow missed last time they were in the city. Kurt was having an amazing time, but Blaine looked like a child in a sweetshop as he walked around, every corner he turned made his eyes light up and his mouth hang slightly open as he stared at all of the mascots and sculptures surrounding the park, that nobody ever truly appreciates because they are too distracted with the prospect of going on a ride. Kurt spent the entire day being dragged around by Blaine as he ran around the park grinning wildly, until eventually it started getting late, and Blaine began to look uncomfortable due to his ribs. Even then though, the only way Kurt could manage to get Blaine back to the hotel was with the fact that if he over did it today, he'd be in too much pain to do any rides tomorrow.
Eventually, Blaine had backed down and agreed to return home. The two were lying in bed at around eleven o'clock, silently trying to get to sleep, but no matter how exhausted they both were from the busy day, they were both still trying to adjust to the new time zone, so instead they lay in bed, half awake, half asleep, in blissful silence, holding each other close. This lasted for about another half an hour until,
"My parents were going to take me to Disneyland when I was 10." Blaine thought aloud.
Kurt mad a sympathetic noise, and kissed Blaine gently on the cheek. "What happened?" He asked, knowing Blaine well enough to know that if he mentioned it out of the blue he wanted to talk about it, but thought it would just be too awkward to just bring it up.
"I got a B on some class assignment; I got my first B on a class assignment. They said I didn't deserve to go anymore, and they ripped up the tickets then and there. I tried persuading them again when I was older, but by then I had come out and they thought it might make me even gayer or something like that." He said softly and rolled around in bed so he was directly looking Kurt in the eyes.
"Oh, Blaine." Kurt sighed and held the side of Blaine's cheek gently. "Don't think back to those times, you've got me now, and they're going to be locked away for a long time, there's no way we won't win the court case."
" I think it might be for the best if I keep looking back though, because then every single memory that's painful for me, I can see being replaced by a happy one, and I know that no matter how suckish life was before, I have the most amazing man in the entire world to make it okay again." Blaine smiled slightly and kissed Kurt gently on the lips. "I love you, Kurt. I don't know what the hell I'd do without you."
"Good, because you'll never have to find out." Kurt replied and kissed Blaine one more time. With that, they both fell soundly asleep, wrapped in each other's arms (or arm in Blaine's case) more in love they had ever been.
-
There was one bad point about Blaine, he had the most adorable puppy eyes in the world, when he wanted something that Kurt frowned upon, and it was only a matter of minute before Kurt relented to the shiny eyes and cute pout that Blaine would pull out of nowhere. And so, even after the doughnut incident last year, Kurt found himself letting Blaine buy the biggest tub of candy floss to eat in the queue for the Big Thunder Mountain. Not only could Kurt see this ending with Blaine leaning over a toilet, but he was also even hyper than Kurt had ever seen him. He was bouncing up and down like a kangaroo as they neared the front of their so far, 2 hour wait for the ride. It was getting late now too, so they were only planning on doing one or two more rides after this.
"Kurt! Kurt! Kurt! Kurt! We're nearly there? Are you scared? I'm not. WOW! It looks like so much fun! Kurt! Kurt! Kurt! Look! Did you see that! Kurt! Kurt! KUUURRRTTTT! Why won't you answer meeee?!" Blaine whined leaning his head on Kurt's shoulder and turning it upside down to look at him.
"I'll answer you when you stop bouncing like a three year old at Christmas!" Kurt replied coldly.
"Kurtiee? Why are you mad at me?" Blaine sulked, looking hurt.
"Oh, Blaine. I'm not mad." Kurt replied, kissing Blaine's frown away, "I just wish you'd eaten less sugar though, you'll end up ill after this ride, and then what will we do?"
"Brush our teeth and carry on, like last time." Blaine grinned as he looked at the ride up ahead.
Only it wasn't that simple. Blaine made it through the ride okay, but because he was looking a little green, they headed back to the hotel. Blaine didn't argue because he was dead frightened of opening his mouth in case he was sick then and there. They had literally just opened the door to the hotel, when Blaine pushed past Kurt and straight to the bathroom. Kurt winced slightly as he heard Blaine throw up, and followed after him, leaning in the doorway pulling an "I told you so" face. But unlike usual, Blaine stayed down by the toilet, not daring to move. That wasn't like Blaine at all. Every time Blaine threw up and didn't actually have an infection of some sort, he would just jump right back up, brush his teeth while grinning and shrugging his shoulders at Kurt. So when he didn't move from his position, Kurt knew something was awfully wrong. Kurt couldn't see his face, so he wandered round the bathroom and sat down next to him angling his head to see Blaine's face that was pointing toward the floor.
Blaine's eyes were squeezed shut tight like he was trying to push something away. "Blaine, honey, what's wrong?" Kurt asked concerned, but Blaine just shook his head in response. Nothing. Block it out. It doesn't hurt that much, get up. Don't ruin the trip. He squeezed his eyes shut even tighter trying to block everything out and focus on getting rid of the pain. "Love, come on what is it?" Kurt put an arm around Blaine trying to pull him into a hug, and against all of his efforts not to, Blaine let out a sharp cry of pain as he moved positions. Kurt instantly let go and looked at Blaine, now seriously worried about him. "Blaine, I need you to talk to me. Are you in pain?" Blaine shook his head, "Blaine." Kurt warned sternly. Blaine let out a gentle sight, and still keeping his eyes closed to block it all out, he nodded gingerly. "Of course." Kurt sighed, looking at the toilet. "That can't have been pleasant with two broken ribs." Kurt shuddered at the thought and kissed Blaine lightly on the head. "Come on, let's get you to bed."
Kurt flushed the toilet and took Blaine's good arm in his, helping Blaine up as he winced and closed his eyes even tighter, trying desperately not to cry or scream out in pain. Blaine leaned on Kurt as he guided him back into the bedroom, his ribs were screaming as he walked, but he blocked it out. They stopped before getting into bed, and Kurt unbuttoned Blaine's shirt and took it off of him gently and helped Blaine step out of his pants. "I would get you some pajamas, but I don't want to put you in too much pain." Kurt said as he helped Blaine into bed. He settled some pillows behind Blaine's back and quickly got into just his pants and climbed in next to him.
"Blaine, say something, or at least open your eyes. You're really scaring me, at this rate we'll have to go back to the hospital." Kurt asked softly taking Blaine's hand in his.
Blaine tentatively opened his eyes, trying still to block out all of the pain surrounding him. He couldn't see much though because his eyes were watery from the tears he refused to let fall. He gave Kurt a brave smile and leant his head on Kurt's shoulders.
"Sweetie, does it hurt that much?" Kurt asked. But Blaine had already fallen asleep against his shoulder, so Kurt kissed him on the head, and silently prayed Blaine hadn't done anything too awful to himself.
-
Kurt woke up the next day around eleven, and was straight away examining Blaine's chest, which had gone from showing the faded bruises it once displayed, to being a mix of blue, purple and yellow right over where the ribs were supposed to be healing. Kurt winced at the sight and gently slid out from where he was entangled with Blaine and got a full dosage of pain medication ready and a glass of water. "Blaine?" He said gently, stroking Blaine's hair softly to wake him up. Blaine's eyes fluttered open slowly, and he smiled when he saw Kurt, but upon trying to move, his face fell. And he groaned as he remembered the day before.
"Crap. I've managed to take the healing process back a few steps, haven't I?" Blaine sighed and tilted his head upwards.
"I think so, love. Do you need to go to the hospital again?" Kurt asked, concerned as he looked over Blaine's ribs with a nervous eye.
"Nope. I've done this before, I got food poisoning during my recovery the second time this happened. There's nothing they can do apart from give me more painkillers, which I have, so there's no point." Blaine said, putting on a brave smile for Kurt.
"Blaine, it looks really bad..." Kurt said, getting more and more worried about the rainbow on Blaine's chest.
"Please, I don't want to miss out on anything this week, we fly back to New York in 4 days, then I'm going to be back in Lima for the court case and to get my ribs examined four weeks later, they're only set back about a week in healing, trust me. Pleaseee?" Blaine pouted again and pulled his puppy dog face.
"Fine! But beware, you know full well that your puppy dog face is exactly what got us into this mess in the first place. Now take this, and no amount of cute face is going to get you out of it, so don't even try." Kurt teased, holding out Blaine's medication. But Blaine was more than happy to oblige today because his ribs literally felt like he was being stampeded on by a thousand elephants at once.
Once Blaine was medicated, he was able to walk around again, and had insisted on continuing on all of the rides, Kurt was cautious at first, but the lure of Disneyland was too much for even him to handle, and they'd ended up leaving the hotel at around 1o'clock and continuing to explore the park.
The rest of the week flew by in a flurry of kisses, smiles, and laughs, and before they knew it, they were on the aeroplane home to New York City. "Hmm, it's nice not being on drugs this time!" Kurt teased, grinning cheekily at Blaine, and then resting his head on his lovers shoulder.
"You love me really." Blaine shot back a cheesy grin before resting his head on Kurt's and snuggling even closer, feeling much more comfortable on a train going to New York instead of leaving Lima, where people weren't as...accepting.
"That I do, that I do." Kurt said sleepily. It was three in the morning, and they had left for the airport at 2, so they were both exhausted, and were soon asleep, only to be woken by the voice over telling them to put their seatbelts back on as they were about to land.
Blaine was kicking himself inside as he had slept the entire flight and missed the perfect opportunity to give Kurt the bracelet he had purchased earlier that week. He would have to do it later today.

This was really good. It was so fun to see Blaine acting like a little kid at Disneyland although it lead to him being in even more pain. It was sweet to see Kurt worried about him and to see Blaine basically get everything he wanted by using his puppy dog eyes. I can't wait to see what happens next.
They are just so damn cute <3 I can't wait until Kurt remembers everything and then they have awesome sex and live happily ever after.
Please please please udate!! It's so good!! Please please please udate!!
