Author's Notes: i love burt so much he's like one of my fav characters on glee and i really wish they had him in more episodes so i had to put him in here ok

The teachers call his parents while Blaine's in math class and then later when he's home he's shocked to find the whole family waiting for him by the door, literally the whole family, his mom and dad and Cooper and two aunts and three uncles and four cousins and gramma and grampa, and they all look sort of angry.

"Oh my God," is all Blaine says, dropping his backpack to the floor.

"What do you have to say for yourself?" his dad says, pulling up his son's sleeves to reveal the cuts from a few days ago, thin and mended only by pinkened scabs. Everyone gasps a little. Blaine pulls his arm away. "You're so selfish, Blaine, why would bring this down on all of us?"

"Why are they all here?" Blaine asks. "They don't have any reason to be."

"Blaine!"

"Make them leave, and then we can talk about it!"

Slowly his relatives file into the kitchen, whispering at eachother to be quiet and oh goodness did you see how bad his wrists were and yeah.

"You've brought nothing but shame. Why would you do this?" his dad says, red in the face. "Answer me! How do you live with yourself? How do you think I can live with myself now, knowing that I have a kid who does this? I didn't raise you to be this way!"

Blaine is quiet and then he says, "It's not always about you. It's for you."

His dad stops his pacing around the room suddenly and then he throws a vase off a shelf, causing it to fall, tiny shards of glass breaking and scattering over the wood floor. Someone coughs in the kitchen.

His dad throws things around and punches the wall, despite his wife's protests, and then he grabs his keys and wallet and leaves the house without another word to Blaine, slamming the front door behind him.

Blaine's mother is still, and Cooper looks like he doesn't know what to do with himself. Blaine's bottom lip trembles and he runs to the bathroom where he sits on the toilet and cries.

Cooper knocks on the door.

"Occupada," Blaine sniffs.

"Everyone else left, though. Like actually left."

Blaine stands and slowly opens the bathroom door to be pulled into his brother's tight embrace. This makes him cry harder.

"I'm sorry I wasn't here for you," Cooper says.

"God," Blaine says. "God, I'm so embarrassed. He showed everyone." Cooper sort of nods like he understands while guiding Blaine to their shared room. He gestures to the bed and Blaine sits next to him on the soft white sheets.

"Can I see?" Cooper asks tentatively, and Blaine does a sort of exhale and that's vaguely coughy and rolls his eyes.

"Here you had me fooled thinking that you've changed."

"No, I have," the older brother insists. "I want to make it up to you. I'm so sorry, really I am. Please Blaine."

"I'm tired of talking to you. Can you go now?" Blaine more like states than asks, and Cooper sighs and walks out of the room.

Kurt sits on the couch with his dad and Finn, pretending to watch football with them. They know he's not watching but it's okay because they are and the Celtics are winning, and then touchdown and they win. Burt and Finn cheer. Kurt stares at the now dark screen, as Burt's turned the TV off. He turns to look at his son. "Kurt, you okay?"

"Can you guys keep a secret?" Kurt asks, voice raspy.

"'Course, buddy. What's on your mind?"

"There's this guy. Blaine." Kurt says, and Burt pauses thinking he's not ready for this conversation yet but then Kurt continues. "I was with Mr Shue and we heard him singing in the hall after class and I saw his arms... they... he noticed me looking at him and he ran and I followed him and found him in the bathroom. He was... cutting his wrists. I didn't know what to do so I left... and then this morning I told Mr Shue because it was killing me, and Mr Shue told Mrs Pilsbury, and now... I think he hates me for it. I thought I was doing the right thing but..."

"Kurt," Burt says firmly. "you did do the right thing. I'm proud of you."

"I'm not proud of myself," Kurt mumbles.

"Think of it this way. What if you saw this kid, Blaine, like that, and you didn't do anything about it at all. And then a few months later, he killed himself. Would you be proud of yourself for not saying anything then?"

Kurt blinks, horrified.

"Wow." Finn says, reminding Kurt that he's there.

"You can't tell anyone. I'm dead serious." Kurt says to him, and Finn nods fast. Then Carole comes in saying that lunch although late, is ready and Kurt excuses himself saying he wants to take a nap, and they all say okay sure, and he goes up to his room and falls asleep just a little while after his head rests on the pillow.
