Blaine searched through his closet for the perfect outfit to wear on his very first date.  He wanted something casual but classy, something that said he was trying to look his best for Kurt without being overly desperate.

He settled on a gray and white striped sweater over a simple white button-up with gray pants and a matching bow tie.  He found his barely-used contacts and put them in for the first time in weeks.  He dug a half-empty bottle of hair gel out from under the sink in his bathroom and slicked his hair, parting it on the side.  One last look in the mirror and he was as ready as he would ever be for his date.

Blaine plugged Kurt’s address into the GPS on his phone and saw that Kurt only lived about ten minutes from him.  His hands were sweating against the steering wheel as he drove to Kurt’s house.

Okay, Blaine, just be cool.  He likes you and you like him.  Everything is going to be fine.

Blaine did his best to relax as he pulled into the Hummel’s driveway.  He sat in his car for a moment, regulating his breathing and mentally reassuring himself that he could do this.

He got out of his car and walked slowly to the front door.  He stood there for a moment, rubbing his hands over his hair-helmet and straightening his tie before closing his eyes and reaching for the bell.

Three seconds later Kurt, who had been waiting in the living room and literally sitting on the edge of his seat as he anticipated Blaine’s arrival, opened the door.

“Hi.” Kurt said with an innocent smile.

“Hi.” Blaine repeated as his bashfulness overtook him once more.

Kurt had changed out of his Cheerios uniform and into his date night attire.  He looked incredible in a black button down and red cardigan with matching belt, and oh my God are those leather pants?

“Come on in.” Kurt said as he moved to the side, allowing Blaine to pass.  “You do have contacts, I see.  And your hair.”

“You don’t like it?” Blaine worried.

“No, it’s just…different.  I’m partial to the curls, but I can work with this.”

Kurt reached up pat Blaine’s hair.  Blaine smiled as he looked into Kurt’s shining eyes, toying with the idea of kissing him again.  They were plenty close enough, and Kurt’s hand was caressing his hair and face.  The temptation was overpowering.  The way Kurt was looking at Blaine said that he was thinking the same thing.

They moved together slowly, each savoring the beauty of the other in this moment and neither wanting it to end.

“Blaine…” Kurt whispered just before their lips met.  Blaine put his hands around Kurt’s waist, pulling him in closer.  Kurt pressed his mouth hard into Blaine’s as the passion enveloped him.  Both boys tightened their grips on the other as their bodies melded together, once again causing the world to disappear and leaving only the two of them in blissful embrace.

“Kurt, I need you to help Carol with the-“ said a voice that jarred the boys back to reality.

“Dad!” Kurt gasped, jumping away from Blaine and straightening himself out.

All the color drained from Blaine’s face.  He had just been caught kissing the Senator’s son, and he didn’t know what to do.

“Oh, uh, hello.” Senator Hummel said to Blaine, who opened his mouth wordlessly and nodded in response.

“Dad, this is Blaine.  He’s new at school and we…we have a date tonight.  Blaine, this is my father, Burt Hummel.”

Introductions were extremely awkward.  Blaine reached out with sweaty palms to shake Burt’s hand as Burt gave the boy the once-over.

“Nice to meet you.” Burt said warily.  “So, uh, where are you kids off to?”

“Breadstix.  And maybe a movie afterwards.” Kurt said.

“Okay, well, Kurt I need you to help Carol with the laundry this week.  That means picking up the dry-cleaning, too.”

“Sure, Dad.  No problem.”

Blaine just stood there in silence, looking from Burt to Kurt and down at his feet.

“Alright then.  You boys have a good time.  And don’t be out too late this time, Kurt.” Burt said as he nodded at Blaine and walked out of the room.

“Oh, wow.” Blaine said with a deep exhale.

“I’m sorry about that.” Kurt said.  “But don’t worry, my Dad is really cool.  He’s not going to like, hate you for kissing his son or anything like that.”

“It’s great that your Dad is like that.” Blaine said, trying to deflect from his embarrassment.

“Yeah, I’m lucky.  Most senators would cover it up if they had a gay son, but my Dad just embraced it.  He’s really the best father I could ask for.”

“Um, are you ready?” Blaine asked, wanting to avoid another run-in with the Senator.  Even though Burt was nice and all he did have an intimidating presence.  Blaine felt uncomfortable around most adults anyway, but especially after being caught during an intimate moment like that.

“Yep.  Let’s go.” Kurt said as he grabbed Blaine’s hand and led him outside.

Blaine skipped a little ahead of Kurt and opened the car door for him.

“Thank you, Blaine.  That’s very gentlemanly of you.” Kurt said as he got in the car.

“Of course.”

Anything for you, my beautiful prince he thought.  He would have to be careful not to say some of the things he was thinking out loud.  He didn’t want to scare Kurt off before their first date.

They went to Breadstix and were seated at a booth.  The atmosphere was pleasant with soft instrumental music and the lights turned down.  It was actually very romantic.

“So, tell me about yourself.  Where are you from?  Why did you transfer to McKinley?” Kurt asked after they had placed their orders.

“Well, my dad’s in the Army, so we moved around a lot.  I’ve been to more schools than I can really remember.  All that transferring got really old, though, so I moved in with my Grandma here in Lima.”

“I can’t say that I blame you.  I can’t imagine moving from place to place like that.”

“Yeah, it’s impossible to make friends.”

Blaine looked at his hands as he fiddled with his fingers.  Kurt looked at Blaine, observing the delicate contours of his face and noticing the trace of sadness that lingered in his eyes.  Kurt felt his heart break a little as he thought about Blaine’s reaction to Karofsky earlier that day.

“Can I ask you something?  Something personal?” Kurt said with a serious expression.

“S-sure.” Blaine replied anxiously.

“What happened?  I mean, with the bullying.”

Blaine was silent.

“You don’t have to talk about it.  I shouldn’t pry.” Kurt said dismissively, worried he had gone too far with his question.

“No, no.  I-it’s okay.” Blaine sighed.  “Two years ago I had a…a crush…on this guy at one of my schools.  I confided in someone that I thought I could trust, but she went and told him.  I wasn’t out of the closet at the time.”

“Oh, my gosh.  I’m so sorry, Blaine.” Kurt said as he took Blaine’s hands in his.  Blaine felt his whole body tingle at Kurt’s touch.

“After that, everyone knew.  On top of being completely embarrassed I was harassed by this group of guys.  They pushed me and called me names.  I never told anyone because I knew I would be moving soon anyway and I seriously doubted anybody would care enough to do anything about it.

And then I moved and moved again, going to different schools and meeting different people.  I always kept to myself and never told anyone that I was gay, but someone always knew.  I never denied it, though.  I just didn’t see the point.

A few months ago, I finally told my parents.  My mom seemed okay with it, but my dad was furious.  He told me that ‘no son of his is going to be a fag’ and he sent me to live with my Grandma until I ‘straighten out’.”

Blaine’s expression was beyond sad; it was broken.  Kurt’s eyes were full of tears as Blaine finished his story.  He squeezed Blaine’s hands as they sat together quietly, Kurt silently vowing to make sure no one ever hurt Blaine again.

“I’m sorry that any of that had to happen to you.” Kurt said after swallowing back the tears.  “But thank you for telling me.  I look forward to finding out everything about you, the good and the bad.”

Blaine looked up at Kurt and smiled warmly.  He chuckled to keep himself from crying.

“I don’t know what it is, but I feel like I can trust you.” Blaine said.

“So do I.  I feel…a lot of things.  About you.”

“It’s really nice to finally have a…a friend.  Someone besides my grandmother to talk to.”

“If you ever need to talk about anything, you can call me.  I promise to answer, no matter what time it is.”

Blaine just smiled.  He began to lose himself in Kurt once again.  The painful memories he had just dredged up were slowly fading into the background as Kurt filled his mind.

Their meals finally arrived and they ate and talked, discovering things they had in common and learning as much as they could about one another.  They stayed at the restaurant for hours, ordering dessert and eventually some coffee where they wouldn’t feel like freeloaders as they hogged up the booth.

Neither one wanted to leave.  They were much too engrossed in the conversation to stop.

Blaine relaxed as Kurt became easier and easier to talk to.

“Oh, crap!” Kurt said as he looked at his watch.  “It’s almost eleven already.  I have to get home soon.”

“Okay.” Blaine said, his face slightly disappointed.  “Let’s get you home, then.”

Blaine insisted on paying the check and Kurt eventually relented.  They finally left the restaurant, and Kurt weaved his fingers into Blaine’s as they made their way through the parking lot.  Blaine glanced at Kurt and gave his hand a tender squeeze, secretly wishing he would never have to let go.

Kurt only allowed Blaine to let go long enough for him to get in the car before grabbing his hand once more, holding it tightly for the entire drive.  Blaine made no objection, even if driving with only his left hand was a challenge.  The two boys had become positively drunk on each other as they talked and laughed together and told each other secrets and blossomed into companions during the course of a single day.

“Here we are.” Blaine said with a sigh as they pulled into the Hummel’s driveway.

“Damn.” Kurt said.  “I really don’t want today to be over.”

“Me, either.”

“Walk me to the door?”

“Of course.”

Blaine hopped out of the car and ran around to open Kurt’s door.  He offered his arm to Kurt, and Kurt linked his arm with Blaine’s as he giggled at the adorable gesture.

They walked slowly, unreasonably slowly, up to the front door.  When they finally reached their destination Kurt turned quickly to face Blaine, a half-hearted smile on his face.

“I don’t want to say goodnight.” Kurt whined as he put his arms on Blaine’s shoulders.

“Neither do I.” Blaine said softly as he gazed into Kurt’s eyes.  Even through the darkness of night, Kurt’s eyes still shone the most intricate and amazing blue.  They seemed to shimmer even more in the moonlight.  Blaine was completely entranced.

Kurt tilted his chin down slightly where he could look at Blaine through his fluttering lashes, and this drove Blaine crazy.

Those eyes.

Blaine’s lips were on Kurt’s before either boy realized it.  They were simply drawn in together, to each other, and it was irresistible.  Blaine’s arms gently surrounded Kurt’s waist, fusing their bodies together in eager contact.

They kissed for a while, touching and caressing each other but never going below the waist.  Still, feeling Kurt’s lips on his and Kurt’s hands anywhere on his body aroused Blaine greatly, and it was beginning to show in a specific and obvious way.

Blaine shifted his hips backwards in hopes that Kurt hadn’t yet felt the evidence of his arousal just as Kurt moved one of his legs, causing his thigh to brush roughly against Blaine’s erection.  Blaine involuntarily moaned at the sensation before breaking his kiss with Kurt and jumping back, his lips pink and swollen and his eyes glimmering but horrified.

“Oh my God, Kurt,” he pleaded. “I’m so sorry.  So sorry, I- I didn’t mean t- oh, my God.”

Blaine wrung his hands and rubbed his neck as he looked down at the ground.  His face was once again scarlet as he stood mortified in front of the boy he so wanted to impress.

“Sorry for what?” Kurt asked with a crinkled nose and puzzled look.

“For, uh, for,” Blaine began, only just then realizing that Kurt may not be aware of what happened.

Kurt stepped in closer.

“For getting a boner?”

“Oh, uh, I,” Blaine sputtered.  On top of feeling humiliated, he wasn’t used to anyone casually throwing around the word ‘boner’ like that.

“Sweetie, it happens.  It’s nothing to be ashamed of.  It’s actually…really hot…” Kurt said in his husky voice as he leaned in for another kiss.

Blaine felt a surge of excitement as his embarrassment began to fade.  Kurt was right, it was really hot.

Kurt’s hand worked its way down Blaine’s torso to his waist and eventually finding his hip.  Kurt slowly moved his hand across Blaine’s hip to the front of his thigh until-

“Kurt!” Blaine gasped, jumping away from the other boy once again.

“Sorry.” Kurt said with one hand behind his back and the other up to his chin, one finger on his bottom lip.  “I won’t be naughty anymore if that’s not what you want.  Promise.”

Blaine just stared for a moment.  He wanted to touch Kurt and have Kurt touch him so badly he couldn’t stand it, but he didn’t think he was comfortable going any further just yet.

But damn, Kurt!  He looked incredibly gorgeous just standing there in that teasing stance, looking at Blaine through those lashes and saying words like ‘naughty’.

“Th-thanks.  I just, I’ve never, uh,” Blaine wasn’t exactly sure how to tell Kurt that not only was Blaine a virgin, but Kurt was the first boy he’d ever kissed.

“I understand.  I haven’t either.  Well, not all the way.  I have done some…stuff.” Kurt said coyly.

“Oh.” said Blaine as images of Kurt doing ‘stuff’ danced in his head, causing more blood to flow to his other head.

“I’m not a slut or anything, if that’s what you’re thinking.” Kurt said, slightly concerned with Blaine’s lack of response.

“No!  Nothing like that.  Not at all!” Blaine reassured.  “It’s just that…what I meant was…um…I’ve never even k-kissed anyone, before today.”

Oh.” Kurt said, a little surprised.  “Well, you could have fooled me.”

Blaine blushed and gave Kurt the ‘oh, you’ hand gesture while being silently grateful that Kurt didn’t think it was weird that he had never been kissed.

The boys soon found themselves joined together again, mouths pressing wetly against each other as their arms and fingers intertwined.

“I have to say goodnight, Blaine.” Kurt said after several blissful moments.  “My dad will be out here soon if I don’t get inside.”

“Okay, well, we can say ‘goodnight’ as long as we don’t say ‘goodbye’.” Blaine said, fighting a small lump in his throat.

Kurt smiled and pulled Blaine in for a tight hug.

“I’m never saying ‘goodbye’ to you.”

He kissed Blaine once more before turning towards the door.  Blaine walked back to his car but turned around to look at Kurt one last time for the evening and saw that Kurt was doing the same.

“Goodnight, Kurt.” Blaine called.

“Goodnight, Blaine.” Kurt answered before disappearing into the house.

Blaine smiled the entire way home as he listened to the radio and every song reminded him of Kurt.  He looked forward to school the next day and every day for the rest of the year because it meant he would get to see Kurt.  He wanted to take Kurt on a thousand dates, anywhere and everywhere he wanted to go.  For the first time in a very long time, Blaine Anderson was deliriously happy, and it was all because he found Kurt.
