Chapter 1: Follow Me Down
Kurt sat in his chair, fiddling with his phone as he listened to Rachel have another fit over the fact that nobody liked her song proposal.
“Guys, honestly; where is your spirit!? ‘Alice in Wonderland’ is one of the greatest books, films, and musicals of all time!” She barked, pressing his hands on her hips.
“Exactly, it’s Disney,” Santana interjected, “besides, the only reason you love it so much is because it’s the only thing you can get from Blockbuster without the cashier asking where your Mommy is. I mean, seriously? Where did you get that outfit, The Children’s Place?”
Kurt glanced up and grimaced slightly at the sight of Rachel’s attire. She wore a dark purple skort*, dark blue knee-highs, a pair of Mary-Janes, and a navy sweater with a poodle design on the front. Kurt rolled his eyes. How that girl was able to get into the building without being sent to an elementary school was beyond him. He turned back to his phone and sighed. He was sick of Glee Club. It was always the same; Rachel and Finn got all of the solos and duets, Santana and Brittney were always flirting and making fun of the other members, Mike and Tina always acted all gooey and romantic. It never changed. He stifled a yawn. He was sick of the same, old routine. He just wanted a change, an adjustment. Just something new.
He continued to ignore the conversations going on until he heard a noise. He glanced to the doorway of the club room. There, standing in the frame, was a young man. He was on the slightly short side, possibly only a couple inches taller than Rachel. He had dark hair, gelled on to his head. He wore a dark blue blazer with red piping, a large ‘D’ brazened on to the breast pocket. His hazel eyes sparkled with excitement and a large grin was spread on his features. He waved at Kurt enthusiastically. Kurt raised an eyebrow and gestured to himself in a way of asking ‘Me?’. The boy nodded eagerly. Kurt slowly stood and walked over to the door. He turned to tell Mister Schuster that he would be back in a moment, but he when he was met with the sight of him trying to end an argument between Santana and Rachel, he decided against it. He walked out into the hall, glancing about for the small boy. He felt a tap on his shoulder. He turned around quickly, only to be shocked by the sight.
The boy looked almost exactly the same, except a pair of soft, white rabbit ears appeared out of the top of his head. The boy even still had his childish grin plastered on his face. Kurt was about to speak when the boy leaned over and pressed a kiss against his lips hungrily. Kurt let out a tiny squeak in surprise. When the boy pulled away and raced down the hall, Kurt put his hand to his lips… only to realize that his phone was missing.
“Hey!” Kurt yelled, racing towards the direction that the young man went. He heard giggling farther down the hallway. He sprinted towards the noise, only to realize that he was in the boy’s locker room. He saw the odd man standing by an open locker. Kurt ran up to him, ready to ask him what the hell he was up to, when he suddenly felt a grip on his wrist. The dark-haired boy smiled more shyly now, holding his hand. Kurt opened his mouth to speak, but no words came out when he saw what was behind the boy. In the open locker was nothing but darkness that seemed to go on forever. The tiny man gripped his hand tighter, before leaning over and whispering in his ear, “Follow me down.” Before Kurt had a chance to reply, the boy tugged on his arm and plunged them both into the dark abyss.
