Kurt, please, It wasn't what you're thinking…" He was begging, and Kurt wasn't listening, it was easier not to listen.
"Get out. Just go." Turning his back on Blaine and walking back into the living room.
"You'd better leave son." Burt's hand landed on Blaine's shoulder guiding him towards the front door, the gesture was caught between gentle and forceful, as Burt struggled with his pity for him mixing with his paternal protective nature. Kurt didn't know how long his father had been standing there, or how much he had heard. It didn't matter now, it was over and things wouldn't, couldn't be the same. It had gotten so out of control, they'd let it fester, pushing away and ignoring it. It wasn't supposed to end like this, they had plans. But plans change. His Father followed behind him taking a seat next to him "Do you wanna talk about what just happened kiddo?" Kurt shook his head as a sob escaped him. Burt swung an arm around his son pulling him closer. Kurt folded himself into his father, as he fiddled with the solid silver ring around his finger his words sank into the pockets of his fathers flannel shirt. "I wish I didn't still love him."
It was quarter past nine on a storming friday night, and sometimes even love wasn't enough.
