It was a crisp autumn morning in New York. The wind nipped at Kurt's bright pink nose, although his neck was safe from the cold thanks to his timeless Burberry scarf. Not only was he late for auditions, but his usual parking space was filled and the only available space was 3 blocks away. Well then , Kurt thought to himself, someone is getting fired today. As he trudged up the marble steps to the large glass doors of the building, the doors swung open and a young man flew down the steps, barreling into Kurt and effectively knocking him on his ass.
"Watch it!", Kurt scolded. Just who the hell was this guy? As Kurt lifted his head to see just who it was that caused his bruised tailbone, he met the most beautiful pair of hazel eyes with his own.
He immediately blushed, flushing a vibrant shade of rose. His anger had quickly subsided and he was about to start apologizing, but was interrupted by his accidental assailant.
"Oh my god, Mr.Hummel I am so sorry. Please, let me help you up. Oh my god , oh my god, I'm so sorry!"
What? Kurt isn't easily baffled, he was used to people grovelling at his feet, but this man was so stunningly handsome. His long, thick lashes curled up perfectly and his eyebrows were bushy and yet so well shaped. He had the most amazing curls that framed his face perfectly and his square jaw showed no signs of stubble, no doubt from a morning shave.Who was this flawless man and why was he here? Was he auditioning?
Kurt hoped not. He frowned upon his employees dating each other and he definitely wasn't going to break his own rule. Kurt shook his head lightly, as if dismissing these silly thoughts from his head. Date him? What was he thinking? He didn't even know the guy, but this impossibly lovely man sure did know him. As Kurt reached out for the stranger's outstretched hand, he asked "Who exactly are you?" a bit harsher than he intended. It was in his nature, in New York it was a dog-eat-dog world. You either eat or get eaten and Kurt was definitely not about to let anyone stand in the way of him getting what he wants. Kurt Hummel was no longer your friendly neighborhood doormat.
The man blanched at his tone, but recovered quickly and said "I'm your new assistant, Blaine Anderson. It's a pleasure to finally meet you Mr.Hummel. I'm a huge fan of your work." Oh? "Of course you are. Anderson, you say? As in Cooper Anderson?" The other man winced at the name and half-rolled his eyes. "Yes, he's my older brother." Kurt could tell he struck a nerve there."I see. He's quite awful if you ask me." Kurt remarked snidely, expecting a backlash. However, his words had done the exact opposite and he saw the corners on Blaine's mouth pull up and twitch slightly as if he was suppressing a smile.
"Everyone has their own opinion. I hope you don't let your thoughts about Cooper effect how you feel about me." Kurt flushed, hoping it wasn't noticeable. How does he feel about him? Hes just an assistant. An easily replaced, virtually unimportant assistant. So why did Kurt feel butterflies in his stomach? God, pull it together Hummel.
Very interesting! It's so short, so I have no idea where you might be going with this, but I want to know more!
