"Hey Kurt, why weren't you at Warbles yesterday, you know we meet Wednesdays and Thursdays?" He inquired
Kurt gave him an apologetic look and whispered back, "Sorry, they gave me the day of to get to know my new roommate."
"Oh, yeah. I forgot we got another new kid, Tony? So of course you swapped rooms, who did you get put with?" He whispered back.
Kurt chewed his lip a little before replying, "Blaine, Blaine Anderson." Adam just glared at Kurt.
"Good luck with that kid, trust me. It shouldn't be a problem really, just don't get in his way"
Kurt cocked his head, "Wait.. what..." The teacher then turned round and looked straight at Kurt.
"I'm glad you're making friend Mr. Hummel, but could you please pay attention to the class." The teacher then turned back around.
Adam gave him an apologetic look before he turned back to face the front, unlike Kurt who kept replaying what he had said in his mind.
Tomorrow would be the weekend that meant no classes. That meant maybe a whole day with Blaine, the boy of mystery. All he had to do was get through today, that's all.
Kurt had two option classes; he had picked musical threatre and textiles, both for his two loves. Kurt has a double after science and he was excited for his first musical theatre lesson. He walked in to find Blaine sitting in the back with his head down, he wasn't surprised.
He then wondered if Blaine has any musical talent, or if he just thought this class was easy. He would find out soon enough, since this class had to perform.
He sat down next to Blaine, the only seat available in the class. Kurt new he shouldn't talk to him, but as time went on the urge only grew stronger. He took out his pen and rested it on the page, he couldn't think of something to write so he settled on something simple, "Hi." He tossed it to Blaine and tried to look forward, but he had a secret smile on his face.
A few minutes had gone by and note had gone untouched, Kurt felt disappointed, Blaine hadn't even moved. Kurt then decided to pay attention, knowing he wouldn't get anything out of the mysterious boy.
Blaine hadn't even moved the slightest by the end of the class, at this point Kurt wondered if he was even alive, but as soon at the bell went the boy fled straight away.
He went through the rest of his class's not really paying attention, he just wanted to day out the way. He occasionally talked to Adam or some of the other warblers, but apart from that he hasn't made any other friends.
Classes ended at five and he was really tired, he just wanted to go to bed. He entered his room to find Blaine sitting under the covers; he was reading the same book as yesterday.
Kurt was also quiet hungry, both Blaine and he had missed dinner yesterday and he decided he would head down at six to fetch some food to eat in their dorm. He quickly showered and then headed down to the hall, where he picked up a few things to eat.
He searched round the hall full of noisy boys, he couldn't see Blaine anywhere. He wondered if the boy would be hungry, so he put in a few extra things for Blaine.
He headed back to the room and put the food down on the bed; he undid his sandwich and began to take a small bite of it, when he remembered Blaine was there. "Oh I got you something too, figured you would might be hungry," he said throwing Blaine a sandwich. Blaine moved his head slightly and looked at the packaging that landed on the side of his bed. He shook his head and then went back to his reading.
Kurt found this odd, Blaine had looked, but he didn't want it. He wasn't sure if Blaine had already eaten, or if he just didn't eat. Maybe he didn't like what he brought for him, he would just have to go hungry he guessed. He continued to nibble his sandwich silently.
Blaine got up and walked over to the sink in their room and filled up a glass, he paused a moment and then took another glass of the shelf. He filled the other glass up and took it over to Kurt; he held it out at arm's length for the boy to take. Kurt took it gratefully and smiled up at the boy, he kept telling himself, maybe he wouldn't be so bad.
Blaine walked back over to the sink and picked up his own glass with his sleeves tight around his hands, the cup slipped from his grasp. The cup smashed onto his bare foot, but no words were said from Blaine, he simply just looked at the glass on the floor.
"Blaine, Crap. What happened," Kurt put his glass aside and got up to help Blaine. He crouched down and began to pick the glass up from the floor; Blaine did not move a muscle.
"You're bleeding, go sit down. Let me help you," Blaine quietly sat down on his bed while Kurt threw away the broken glass. He went into the bathroom and wet some toilet paper; he hoped Blaine would trust him enough to help. He came back out and sat next to Blaine on the bed, he reached down to bring his foot onto his bed.
"Hold still okay?" He said quietly as he bent down slightly to press the wet tissue to Blaine's foot. Blaine lifted his head and looked straight at Kurt, with no emotion in his face.
Blaine suddenly pulled his foot away and pushed Kurt's arm, he got up and went into the bathroom. Kurt was confused, what has he done wrong? He changed into his pyjamas and then climbed into his bed.
Blaine walked out the shower in the same clothes as yesterday, even though it was rather hot for a long sleeve, but Kurt decided to ignore it. Blaine got into his bed and quickly closed his eyes; Kurt wondered what he was thinking about. Kurt also closed his eyes and quickly fell asleep.
He woke up again in the night to find Blaine rolling around restlessly in his sleep; he hoped he wouldn't make a habit of this. He got out of his bed and sat on the end of Blaine's and reached down to stroke his hair, "Blaine... Shh.. it's me, Kurt." With that Blaine's eyes shot open and looked straight into the boy's sitting above him, he let out a slow whimper.
Kurt got up to leave his bed, but an arm grabbed him so he was still sitting. He turned to face Blaine who looked really sad, but mostly scared. He then let go, but Kurt didn't want to leave Blaine like this. He got up and went into his own bed and rolled over to face away from the other boy, he felt bad for leaving him.
He closed his eyes and listened to the sounds of Blaine whimper, and the occasional sniff, after about ten minutes the sounds stopped so he assumed he fell back to sleep. In truth though, Blaine just lay awake staring at the ceiling, he really didn't want to go back to sleep.
Kurt awoke to the sound of Blaine getting up; he rolled over to see the boy with heavy bags under his eyes. He felt really sorry for the boy, but he did not know what to do to help him. He also got up and went over to the board above the door, he tapped the pen slightly before writing, "Let me help you." Blaine stopped dead in his tracks and walked over to Kurt, he snatched the pen out his hand. He wrote in thick letters, "NO, This never happened," and then walked into the bathroom.
Kurt stared as the boy walked away, why was Blaine so angry at him, he was trying to be a friend to him. He decided to ignore this, he has a heap of homework for the weekend and decided to get on with that.
He sat at the desk and opened up the first book, he realized this was going to take ages, but he had to do it eventually. He heard the bathroom door and click, and then Blaine was sitting next to him. He heard him breathe slowly and then he tore a bit of paper of the sheet in front of him. He folded it up carefully and placed it beside Kurt. He took the tiny piece of paper and breathed out slowly, undoing the folds. It read, "I'm sorry," he smiled at the message.
Kurt then wrote back on the other side, "It's okay, I'm just trying to help" he then passed it to Blaine. The boy took a moment before he picked up the piece of paper; Kurt noticed he read it a few times before replying. "I know, don't."
Kurt looked down at the message, he felt really sad. Blaine had made an effort and then he ruined it all the space of a second, he was really unsure what to do.
Later than night Blaine continued to have his nightmares, he felt so alone, not even Kurt was awake to help him. He crawled slowly out of bed and went over to the desk. He wiped his tears on his sleeves and pressed his face to his hands. He took a few moments before picking up the pen and scribbling a note down.
He walked over to Kurt and stood over his sleeping body, he waited a moment before tapping him gently on the shoulder. He held the note out and waited until Kurt accepted it from him, it took him a few minutes to sit up though.
He blinked his hazy eyes and rubbed them, who was that? Oh it was Blaine, what was he doing awake, he looked really sad though. His eyes skimmed down Blaine's arm and onto the note, he took it from his hands. The words simply read, "Help me."
He folded up the note again and rested it on the table next to his bed, before taking Blaine's sleeve. He pulled Blaine slowly onto his bed. "Just hold still, okay?" Blaine flinched a little, but then relaxed as Kurt began to hug him. He rested his head on the taller boys shoulder and then Kurt slowly lead them so them were laying down.
"It's okay, no ones here, they're just nightmares," he whispered softly. Blaine let out a slow whimper and clutched and Kurt, he felt so hopeless. Tears pricked his eyes and he buried his head in the other boys shoulder, he then fell asleep.
Kurt listened to Blaine breathe for a while, he was trusting him. He didn't want to ruin this, he wanted to help and he got what he wanted. He closed his eyes slowly and fell asleep with his arms wrapped around the boy sleeping next to him.
He woke up to an empty bed, he sat up quickly and looked around. His eyes then went to the whiteboard above the door, "Tell anyone and you're dead."
