#1 on Blaine's list- Play on the swings with someone I love

"So.......Kurt?"

Kurt looks up. Blaine's lying on the floor on his stomach, his calculus homework thrown in front of him. It's a Thursday, and he has a ginormous test tomorrow. He's clearly a little stressed, but his mess of tiny calculations strewn across various pages of loose leaf paper show Kurt that Blaine is confident in his academic ability. But the work is clearly being forgotten, for Blaine is looking up at Kurt, his face twisted peacfeully in a thought that is definitely not related to derivatives.

"Yeah?" Kurt returns, smiling down at those gorgeous hazel orbs looking up at him.

"I know I have this huge test tomorrow, and you've got one too, but like..." Blaine twirls his pencil around in his fingers in that cool snapping motion Kurt wishes he could master. Back and forth the pencil flies, twisting nimbly around Blaine's strong fingers.

"Really Blaine what's up?" Kurt slides gracefully off the bed onto the floor, hoping a closer proximity to his boyfriend will help him get this off his chest.

"Can we maybe like...go to the park?" Blaine's eyes meet Kurt's, gleaning in wonder.

"That's it? Really?" Kurt's shocked, to say the least.

"Crap, I knew you'd say no, really, forget it," Blaine turned back to his math homework, shuffling a few pages in front of him and looking clearly distressed and visibly down.

"Blaine." Kurt reaches out for his shoulders, tugging lightly. "Why would I say no to the park?" It's gorgeous outside and I'd love a study break." Kurt smiles as Blaine's face lights up. "Really. That's a pretty great idea."

For once, Kurt doesn't care about going outside and walking around the park he knows is extremely muddy and filled with snotty little kids. Blaine literally pulsing with excitement now, and obviously is done with his homework.

They end up at the park down the street twenty minutes later. Blaine pulls in, parks, and looks over at Kurt before they get out, unable to contain how excited he is at the moment.

They meet around the back, and automatically link hands, swaying their joined fingers back and forth as they walk into the park. There are a couple of people there, but it's supper time, so the park is far emptier than usual.

"So what's the plan?" Kurt looks over at Blaine, geninunely curious.

Blaine doesn't even have to think twice. He knows exactly what they're going to do.

Dropping Kurt's hand, Blaine takes off for the swings. He runs across the playground and plops down on the seat.

"I take that as the swings are first?" Kurt giggles when he finally catches up.

"You would be correct," Blaine tilts his head at his boyfriend as he joins him on the seat next to him. "Ready?"

"Is this some kind of a contest? I'm totally unprepared for this kind of pressure," Kurt jokes.

"Nope," Blaine says, suddenly totally serious. "Just pump. That's it."

And he takes off, slowly gaining speed and height and joy and Blaine starts swinging. Back and forth and back and forth and he's laughing and smiling and swinging.

Kurt has never felt so in love. Composed, confident, self-assured Blaine is letting himself go, dropping his masks, allowing the wind to flow through his gel-trapped hair. He has never looked so alive.

Blaine looks over at Kurt, who has finally taken off and joined him. Kurt is now up as high as he is, and has clearly let go of his inhibitions that Blaine knew he had about coming to the park. Kurt, who's now so carefree and blissful flying back on forth on the swings.

They needed this. Not just being on the swings though. They needed to be on the swings with each other.

Blaine reaches out for Kurt's hand, but they're going so fast that both of their swings come crashing into each other at full speed, rocking back and forth as they try to slow down. The boys are unable to contain their laughter and their knees and shoulders bump as the swings lose momentum.

Their feet finally scrape against the ground, and they are earthbound once more. Blaine looks at Kurt, so happy he agreed to come to the park with him and share in the beauty of the swings. He leans in, letting his nose touch Kurt's. He can feel his boyfriend breathing heavy, and knows that he is doing the same. Swings aren't easy, after all.

Yet, Blaine has a feeling that he might be a little breathless because of the gorgeous boy he's swining with.

Blaine reaches out to grab the chains of Kurt's swing, and brings it together with his own. Kurt takes this moment to cup his hands around Blaine's cheeks. They sway slowly back and forth, relishing in the beauty of the swings, of the autumn air, and of each other, beaming the entire time.

Blaine can't help but cross off the first item on his list, a to-do that he's elated he gets to share with Kurt.
