“OH MY GOD!” Santana huffs out as she throws herself down onto the ground, Maya follows suit, the pair puffing and panting. “Why did I agree to this?” She asks nobody in particular, stretching a hand out to hit Maya in the stomach. “You're young, why the hell are you so out of breath?”
“Eh, how about I was out drinking until four this morning and YOU didn't tell me those pair were going to wake me up to get all ‘at one with nature' at six, SIX on a Sunday morning!” Maya yells to the clouds floating happily up above their heads. “That tyrant has me going non-stop at work and now he's trying to make me healthy in my down time? Na, no thanks!” Maya moves to get up but flops back down quickly.
“It hurts to move huh?” Santana grins, slyly looking at her through her glasses tinted lenses, to watch her girlfriend screw up her face. “I could go for a double cheese burger and extra-large fries right about now…”
“Hmmm, with a strawberry milkshake, oh and onion rings. Yeah. That would make all of this worth it. Do you think there's a drive thru round here?” Maya looks left and right, as quick as her aching muscles would allow, just to be sure. “God I knew it was too good to be true.”
“Hey! Do you think there could actually be bears up here? I mean why would they name a place Bear Mountain State Park if there wasn't any?” Santana sits up right trying to get a good look in the tree's nearby.
“I didn't until you just said it!” Maya screeches, sitting up right to look around as well. “If tweedle dee and tweedle dum have brought me up here just to get eaten by a bear. I swear I'm going to haunt them for all of eternity. No, not even just noises, I'm going to hide all Kurt's expensive moisturisers so he gets wrinkles on that perfect porcelain skin!”
“Hey I heard that!” Kurt's voice, out of breath, suddenly appears from behind them, hopping off of the tandem bike and running to unclip Willow at the back.
“I have to agree with her on most of that statement.” Santana drawls, making grabby hands for the baby as Kurt walks over with her, Blaine trailing behind with a picnic basket. “Give me my girl and all will be forgiven!” Santana is rewarded by a happy gurgling baby, touching her nose and laughing.
“Wow. Look at that view!” Blaine smiles, big and bright, as he drops the basket down and pulls out a blanket to sit on. “So worth it right?”
“I think some junk food would make it more worth it. Don't you baby girl?” Maya asks Willow, putting a slopping kiss on her hand.
“You can eat a burger any day! Look at this, the open air, trees, the suns shinning.” Kurt adds to Blaine's argument, tilting his head to the sun.
“I have to say, watching you peddle that dorky tandem was payment enough for me!” Santana laughs, still not taking her attention off of Willow, she had started becoming more of a little girl recently, losing some of her baby features and starting to form a personality. “Say dada's a dork?”
“Da!” Willow squeals, clapping her hands together. “SASA!”
“Yes! Aunty Santana!” Santana smiles at her.
“We don't look dorky!” Kurt counters back, reaching into the basket for a cup for willow and handing it to her.
“Maybe dress sense wise you don't, well Kurt doesn't…” Maya trails off as Blaine aims a grape at her out of the hamper. “Sooo… anyway! I thought there was a reason for bringing us up here?” She asks, completely changing the subject.
“oh, well we just thought that it would be, um, nice. Is all.” Blaine mumbles lamely, stuffing a mouthful of grapes in his mouth so Kurt has to do the talking.
“Nice, Blaine, real nice!” Kurt slides closer to his husband, kissing him on the lips quickly.
“Definitely didn't need to cycle all the way up here for that!” Santana sings to Willow.
“Cause your daddies do that all the time!” Maya joins in.
“Yeah, because you two can talk about anyone else!” Kurt snarks, taking a drink from a water bottle. “If sex or promiscuity was an Olympic sport, you two would have gold medal ten times over!”
“Well it's not our fault that you guys, and the daddies for that matter, all have off-spring to distract you from time that could otherwise have been ‘get it on time'!” Santana shrugs, bouncing the baby to keep her happy.
“My girl aint wrong!” Maya adds, “PLUS any time you do have to yourselves at night, or during getting your car detailed, I dunno. Whatever you guys do in your down time. You're all too exhausted to get laid after all those lame classes you go to with all the other pretentious parents. Who all think their kids are going to be the next Einstein or something, where really the odds are one of those kids will do something substantial with their lives, the rest will all be losers. So basically you're too exhausted to get laid because you're encouraging your child to socialise with losers.” Blaine and Kurt stare at her in awe.
“While I don't agree with half of what you just said…” Kurt starts, leaning over to take Willow into his arms, smiling when she slobbers on his cheek in thanks. “You basically said our child would be the genius in your warped head so…thanks, I guess. Secondly, while you joking about our sex life ALWAYS brings us ENDLESS amusement. That is not what we brought you here for.”
“That sounded suspiciously like snark, Husband. I've told you how I feel about that…”
“BECAUSE IM NOT YOUR HUSBAND!” Kurt screams, drawing all eyes of people nearby to look over, drawing a breath he starts again. “That was years ago now, when we were shit-faced in Vegas. I am Blaine's husband and he doesn't like to share, right honey? You better not be laughing!” Kurt narrows his gaze in on his husband, who has his cheeks puffed out in an effort to smother his laugh.
“I'll always be the only woman you've had!” Santana grins happily, much to Kurt's annoyance. “Whereas Blaine will get replaced once he grows a beard and old man paunch!”
“HEY! I put on a little weight during promo season, I'll lose it no problem!” Blaine mumbles shovelling more grapes into his mouth.
“Don't listen to her honey, Willow and I love you, that's all that matters.” Kurt whisper into the crook of his neck.
“Okay, so what DID you bring us here for?” Maya asks, sighing in boredom because really? She's too hungover to even pretend that winding them up is interesting enough. “If it's to rein act hunger games, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't feel sorry about killing either of you today…”
“Right, yes. The reason.” Kurt mutters, pulling himself up tall and handing a wriggling willow to her dad. “Well, you know we had this plan that we would start looking for another child when willow was three, we thought it was a good age for her to get a new sibling,”
“Kurt? I've had your life plan imprinted in my brain since I was like 15, none of which actually happened the way you planned anyway!” Santana snarks digging into the basket for some food.
“Well funny you should mention that…” Kurt stops to see if she will lift her head out of the basket and look at him with the same confused look Maya is giving him. She doesn't “We were wondering how you would feel about being godmother?” Maya's frown deepens as Santana rummages for any form of junk food in the basket.
“I already am, we had that dorky name ceremony thing remember!” Santana talks in annoyance, mainly because she can't find any candy, what kind of basket is this.
“It wasn't dorky! Blaine?!” Kurt turns to his husband and judging from the look he's receiving knows it's his turn to try.
“What Kurt was trying to say… is how would both of you feel about being godmothers to our son?”
“Wait!” Maya explodes and Blaine smiles warmly. “Are you forcing willow into a sex change? Because she has far to pretty a face to become a boy, all the girls are going to swoon for those eyes!” Santana laughs inside the basket at her girlfriend until the words set in and she pops out as fast as she can, eyes wide.
“Wait, just hold on!” Santana looks to Maya and then to Kurt and Blaine, who shock horror are almost in tears, and it sinks in. “You're having a boy? Maya they're having a boy!”
“Wait! Like another one?” they pair nod silently to her question. “Oh. And you want me to be his god mother? I'm not willows.”
“No but we thought having you both, would be the best way of giving him a ‘motherly' vibe.” Kurt smiles at her.
“You've been so good with Willow; we couldn't just ask Santana!” Blaine adds.
“WAIT! I need details, like how old? Do you have a picture? And how the fuck has this happened without me knowing? I snoop through your mail once a week!” Santana starts rambling bouncing a little in her spot.
“His name is Jerrod; he is five years old with the most perfect face. I honestly died the first time I saw him. Not just because I'm bias. they adoption agency we got Willow from called us out of the blue. He has had a really hard time of it, and they thought that we could maybe help, if we wanted another child so quickly.” Kurt explain, practically beaming hearts from his eyes.
“We obviously told her we didn't plan on it that fast, but we'd visit him at least. I don't think I've ever known so fast that something was meant for me. He's so small, you wouldn't believe he was five but really smart, you know? He can name all the dinosaurs in this book he has, tell when they were discovered, how big they were, what they ate.”
“Of course you love him, he'll think your dorky ways are so cool if he's a nerd.” Santana mutters under her breath.
“Funny! And oh my god you should see him with Willow, he is just. I've never felt like we were missing anything, you know? But the minute the four of us were together that was it. We were just how it should be” Blaine smiled at Kurt and willow, kissing each on the check, without any spark from Santana or Maya for once.
“I can't believe this. So when does he come home?”
“When do we get to meet him?”
“Funny you should mention that…” Kurt smiles, nodding over the girl's shoulder as a black car with tinted windows pull up. A woman, neither of them recognise steps out and opens the back door, there is silence till a ball of energy catapults out of the car and heads straight for Blaine and the baby. “I'll be right back.” Kurt mutters as he heads off to the woman, Maya and Santana drawn between him and this ball of cuteness jumping on Blaine and kissing his sister repeatedly.
“I think my ovaries, just exploded!” Maya hissed into Santana's ears.
“don't. I am soo close to losing my shit. Look at him!” Santana whispers back.
“Daddy!” Jerrod squeals excitedly as Kurt wheels a small bike back over towards the group. “Did Jenny telled you?” he asks seriously.
“That you're sleeping over?” Kurt asks in mocked excitement. “She did! And you know what that means right?”
“Is my room all finished?” He asks, looking back towards Blaine.
“No. but I thought we could go pick out paint later on today? If Santana and Maya don't mind?” Jerrod finally notices them then, and looks over with a huge grin.
“Hi buddy!” Santana smiles, trying to remember how Landin was when he first arrived, but Jerrod seems so confident, and assured like he knew he was supposed to be with her boys.
Jerrod narrows his gaze and looks at both Santana and Maya. “my names going to be Jerrod William Hummel-Anderson.” He informs her proudly. “My daddy told me you're going to be my Aunty Tan, he says you say bad words sometimes, but that I love you to the moon and back, like you love me.” Santana looks at Kurt over his head, a tear rolling down her cheek, before looking back down to Jerrod's face, taking in his caramel eyes, his olive skin, his dark brown waves of hair. He was perfect.
“You know; I'm going to be your favourite aunty of all?” Santana says back to him in hushed tones. “I'll play games with you and buy you all the candy you want and let you stay up late. Anything you want? I'm your girl!” He lunges into her lap and holds on tight, looking up in to her big beautiful eyes, that look kind, just like his daddies had told him.
“Would you take me to see the dinosaurs at the museum? I always want to see them.” Jerrod looks at everyone nodding before honing in on Maya, leaning out of Santana's lap to touch her hair. “You're going to be my Aunty Maya, daddy Blaine was right, your hairs all soft and long and sparkles like a mermaid.”
“I think you are the most beautiful little five-year-old I have ever seen.” Maya ruffles his hair softly, earning a giggle.
“Can we play in the tree's now, you said once I prised them I could climb trees with you!” He turns his attention to his new dads, a does that smile that he already knows gets him whatever he wants. Wordlessly the group stands and wonders into the nearest wooded area. The biggest smiles all round.

“It went well right?” Kurt asks shuffling around the room to put his clothes away in the hamper, before sitting down at his vanity. “He seemed to just fit didn't he? And did you see Santana? She was one step away from bawling.” Kurt bites his bottom lip, watching Blaine bottle feeding willow through the mirror.
“Listen, stop worrying.” Blaine sighs, watching his sleepy baby, roll her eyes, guzzling he milk so quick that a small dribble comes out at the corners of her mouth. “I know you expected him to be withdrawn like Landin was, but think about it? He just took it in his stride, like he had always been there, I think that's a good sign. And did you notice he kept calling us daddy? He's never done it constantly like that before, it's like he's getting used to us, he feels comfortable.”
“I know, you're right. I just worry.” Kurt sighs, smearing moisturiser under his eyes. “I wish dad could have been out here to help with his room, I wanted it done for his first overnight visit.”
“Kurt didn't you see how excited he was picking out his own colours, and hello? They actually go together. What five-year-old can do that? Our son is a genius.” Kurt tries to hold back a tear at that, but Blaine notices. “What's wrong?”
“Happy tears.” Kurt smiles, before composing his self to start again. “It's just I always say I fell in love with you more when Willow came along, and I thought surely I can't love you more, you know? And now seeing you with Jerrod, nothing has changed except that we have another child to keep alive and healthy, but watching you build that fort for him to sleep in? it was just one of those moments. I just, I'm happy. Really truly happy.”
“Daddy?” a small voice whispers in through the crack of the door. Kurt, toes it open to reveal Jerrod in his new t-rex pyjamas and a nervous grin.
“What's up honey?” Kurt bends down to lovingly stroke his cheek, his heart soring when he leans into it.
“I heard the cats, meowing at something and I got scared in the dark. “
“You know what, we'll get you some night lights when we go shopping tomorrow, what about a rocket ship one?” Blaine encourages, and Jerrod relaxes nodding his head in agreement.
“You know Dad?” Kurt asks Blaine exaggeratedly. “I think I would really like to have cuddles in bed from my baby girl and a special five-year-old boy tonight. Do you think we could find one last minute?”
“I don't know, it's quite late. We have the baby, that might have to do.” Blaine sighs, heavily, waiting for Jerrod to pipe up.
“I'm a five-year-old!”
“So you are!” Kurt exclaims getting up to squeeze him against his side dramatically turning him this way and that to make him laugh. “And guess what? You're just the perfect five-year-old I was looking for, now you have to sleep beside me. Or I won't sleep all night. How's that sound?”
“Amazing, I never shared a bed with my new dad's yet.” He squeals, jumping onto the bed and crawling in beside willow, placing a hand protectively on her chest. Kurt quickly turns the light off and snuggles in to, reaching a hand over to stroke Blaine's cheek. Yeah, his life is pretty perfect.
