Author's Notes: Enjoy Guys!

Kurt and Blaine sat at the kitchen table eating breakfast in silence. Kurt had become a lot more self aware of what he ate because of Blaine. After the day in Chicago they had been spending a lot more time together and Kurt realized his feelings had been growing. He now had a full blown crush on his ex. And it wouldn't be that big of a deal, but he still didn't know where he stood with Blaine. Sometimes they would flirt and others he would see Blaine checking another guy out. He was still confused and wish they could just come out with there hidden feelings or lack of.

He was deep in thought when Blaine nudged his leg under the table. He looked up from his paper with a questioning look.
"I was wondering if maybe you wanted to go mini golfing together this weekend. I have a coupon!" Blaine said enthusiastically. Kurt smiled.
"Duh! I would love too. When?"
Blaine's smile grew. "I was thinking Saturday maybe."
"We can't."
Blaine frowned.
"Oh! I mean, we have Jacobs party remember? Can we do Friday? Please?"
"I totally forgot about that! Yea, let's do Friday. But the real question is what do I get Jacob?"
Kurt laughed as he helped Blaine brainstorm ideas.

Friday came and Kurt actually felt nervous to go mini golfing. It was such a couple thing to do, and yet, they weren't a couple.

Every hole was a new adventure. Kurt was utterly embarrassed by some of the puts he had been hitting. The very first hole he completely missed the ball and swung his club into the air. That earned a laugh from Blaine and a blush from him. The next few holes went okay, but disaster really struck during the seventh hole. Kurt was going to put, when he slipped, actually slipped on the golf ball. He fell down on his butt, which really hurt.

"Kurt! Oh my god, are you okay?" Blaine asked frantically trying to help the taller man up.

"Y-Yea, fine." He said in reply, weakly, with unshed tears in his eyes.

"No you're not. Come on lets get you checked out." Blaine started dragging Kurt towards the exit.

"Blaine really I'm - Oww, ow god."

"See, come on Kurt, we are going to the hospital."

"No way, I'm fine, I just need ice." Kurt argued.

"You could have broken something, we are going, no excuses."

Kurt sighed and aloud himself to be dragged to the car and driven to the hospital.

Two hours later they were both entering the apartment. Blaine had been giggling the whole way up the elevator and Kurt was just glaring. He had to use a donut to sit on for the next two weeks. Perfect.

"Blaine, seriously stop laughing, it's not funny." Kurt said in a displeased voice.

That made him laugh more. "Kurt, you practically broke your butt, it's hilarious."

Kurt glared at him. "No its not, we had to go to the hospital, get this stupid donut thing because I slipped on a stupid gold ball, and completely ruined our date, by slipping on a stupid golf ball. Blaine this is not funny at all."

Blaine stayed quiet, and Kurt suddenly realized that he used the ‘date' word, when really they just went out as friends. He really hoped Blaine didn't see his sudden tint of red, and didn't hear him say that. Blaine stayed quiet a few more moments before bursting out laughing. He was doubled over, laughing so hard.

Kurt thanked some kind of higher being, then slapped Blaine with the foam donut before stalking off to his room, and slamming the door shut. Apparently that just made Blaine laugh harder. Kurt would never admit it, but he laughed at himself while he was in his room. For the next two weeks he would have to carry that thing around, and it would be good to learn to laugh at yourself.

Kurt and Blaine were 15 minutes late to Jacobs's party the next night. Kurt had been moving extra slow due to the pain in his lower region and it was harder for him to get ready faster. By the time they made it to the house the party was already in full swing. No one really noticed the two enter but seconds later Kurt was being pulled into a bear hug by Jacob. Blaine just stood to the side not wanting to get in the way. He didn't exactly know Jacob that well, they had only hung out once before but he was rather good friends with Nadine. They had a few classes together on campus and studied in the library together every Tuesday. They actually had formed some kind of odd friendship because Nadine was nothing like he was, but he enjoyed it.

"Kurt, oh man, I am so glad you are here, I was getting worried."

Kurt laughed and slapped Jacob on the arm. "Seriously Jake I wouldn't have missed this for the world. You are turning 21, like why wouldn't I want to be here."

"I don't know, you are fifteen minutes late, I'm aloud to worry that my best friend wont be here."

"It just took me longer to get ready."

Blaine snorted. "Yea, cause you broke your butt." That earned him a punch in the arm and a glare.

Jacob was openly laughing along with Blaine. "Wait, you broke your butt?"

"No-.."

"Yes, he did. When we went golfing he slipped on a ball and broke it, he has to carry around a donut to sit on."

Both were roaring with laughter and Kurt was just glaring, not everyone needed to know that he was injured He was grateful when Nadine came over to the group of three.

"Hey Kurt, Blaine, why are we all laughing over here?"

Right as Kurt opened his mouth he was cut off by none other than Blaine. "Kurt broke his butt."

That got them laughing for a good ten minutes. Kurt was getting overly annoyed so he simply walked away toward the kitchen. As he was getting a drink he felt a hand on his shoulder. He turned around and glared when he saw it was Blaine.

"Kurt, what's wrong?"

"What's wrong? Seriously Blaine? What's wrong, well lets see - I have an injured coccyx which hurts like hell and where ever we seem to go, you have to tell everyone I broke my butt." He whipped around to the fridge again and pulled out a sprite, then slammed the door shut.

"Wait-" Blaine said, grabbing Kurt's arm as he tried to shove past him. Kurt fought a little, trying to get out of the grasp, but Blaine was stronger and pushed him against the fridge lightly making sure not to hurt the taller man.

"Kurt, seriously will you please look at me?" Kurt rolled his eyes, but finally made eye contact with the man. "Thank you, now listen, I am really sorry. I didnt know this was upsetting you as much as it was. I never wanted to hurt your feelings."

"Well you did Blaine. How would you like it having to walk around and one of your best friends telling everyone you broke your butt then have them laugh at you? It hurts." He tried to ignore the tears stinging in his eyes.

"Please don't cry," Blaine whispered, bringing up a hand to wipe the small tear escaping. "Kurt I really am sorry. I didn't mean for you to make you feel this way, I hate seeing you cry no matter how breath taking you look when doing it."

Kurt stiffened a little bit, not sure if he heard the last part right. He didn't want to make himself think that something was going to happen between them. Sure it had been almost a month since Shane and Blaine broke up, but Kurt knew, he just knew Blaine still had feelings for him. And he would never be second best or a back up plan.

Kurt sighed, then looked Blaine back in the eyes. "It's fine Blaine, okay? Just - we'll let it go." With that Kurt slid out of Blaine's grasp and went back to the party. Blaine just hung his head as Kurt was leaving the room. Why did he have to keep making fun of something Kurt took seriously? He slammed his hand onto the freezer and then walked out, also joining the party.

It wasn't that Kurt was trying to avoid Blaine, because really he wasn't. He forgave Blaine - sort of. Kurt was still a little pissed off was all. He knew Blaine didn't mean to hurt him, but the fact was that he did. He just needed some time away from the younger man.

Kurt was sitting on the couch when Jacob came up and joined him.

"Hey what's up?" He asked Kurt seriously.

"Uhm - your party. Aren't you supposed to be drunk?"

"No way, I don't want to be drunk later when Nad-"

"STOP!! Please don't say what I think you were about to say!" Kurt shrieked.

"Okay, fine. But come on dude, why aren't you hanging out with Blaine, and flirting it up with him and trying to get him back?"

"Trying to get him back?"

"I know it, you know it, Nadine knows it, you want to date him again, this party is the perfect opportunity but here you are, sitting on the couch alone while Blaine is who the hell knows where."

Kurt rolled his eyes. "I don't want to date him."

"Bullshit Kurt."

Kurt turned and glared at Jacob before letting out a quiet sigh. "Fine, I do want to date him again. But really that won't happen. He doesn't see me like that anymore, we are just friends."

Jacob sighed, patting Kurt on the back. "Whatever dude, he totally likes you. I can tell."

"Ha. ha. Not funny, remember when you thought you could tell that Riley liked me. Remember how that didn't work out?"

"Trust me I just know that he li-."

"Uhm sorry if I'm interrupting, but Kurt I was wondering if you were ready to go?"

Kurt looked over to the clock. It was really late. "Yea, I'll be there in a minute Blaine." Blaine smiled and then turned to go find Nadine before they left. "Jacob, please just drop this, we will talk about it later."

"Alright."

"Happy Birthday!"

"Thanks Kurt." They hugged and then Kurt headed toward the front door with Blaine to get back to the apartment.

The whole drive home, Blaine kept his eyes trained to the road. He didn't say anything about the party, and he didn't even make a comment about Kurt having to sit on his donut. Kurt was a little worried. Maybe he had gone too far by ignoring him at the party. They walked into the apartment and Blaine went into his bedroom without a single 'goodnight'. Kurt sighed heavily and walked back to his room, getting ready and trying to go to sleep. It wasn't working, all he could think about was Blaine. Why wasn't he talking? Was he now mad at Kurt? What happened at the party that changed his complete attitude? Tonight was going to be the longest night of his life. At least some of his friends were having fun.
