“Well what am I supposed to wear?” He shouted back. “All my other jackets are in the wash.” Kurt stuck his head around the bathroom door and looked Finn up and down.
“Oh god,” He groaned. “Do you still have that grey marl hoodie Carole got you for Christmas last year.” Finn shrugged.
“Dunno, probably.”
“Wear that. I swear to god Finn next time you’re here you and I are going shopping.” Kurt shut the bathroom door behind him and Finn stomped over to find his hoodie.
He found it eventually, hidden on one of the shelves above the hangers and pulled it on, skulking off to the kitchen to find something to eat.
Kurt reappeared about ten minutes later and scowled at the half-empty can of coke and bag of crisps on the table in front of his step-brother.
“I would preach to you about empty calories, Finn, but I think it’s pretty clear you’re never going to listen to me.” Finn half-smiled around a mouthful of crisps. Kurt’s phone beeped suddenly and he took it out of his jeans pocket, scowl turning to an expression of intense discomfort. Finn swallowed roughly.
“Wassup?” He asked, swigging the coke. Kurt slowly put his phone back into his pocket, staring into middle-space intently. “Kurt?” Finn cautiously put the can down on the table.
“It’s Zach,” Kurt said quietly. “He, he wants-” He stopped suddenly and put a hand over his eyes, sinking into one of the kitchen chairs. “He wants to, um, meet up for a drink, or something.” Finn frowned.
“I thought you guys broke up ages ago.” Kurt sighed, nodding.
“We did; he was too clingy then, and clearly he hasn’t changed. I can’t believe he still has my number.” He pulled his phone out again and stared at the text one more time before deleting it with a vicious stab of a button. Finn leaned awkwardly across the table and patted his shoulder.
“If he gets too clingy, lemme know and I’ll go and-” Kurt cut him off quickly.
“No thank-you Finn, I know you mean well, but you’d just end up making it worse.” He patted Finn’s hand once
gratefully.
“Hey!” Finn protested but Kurt was already standing up so he let it drop.
“Come on, we’re going to be late; I haven’t seen Dad and Carole in months.” Finn got to his feet grumbling and took his keys from the sideboard.
“Where is it we’re going again?” He shouted to Kurt who was putting his coat on in the hallway.
“Um… Ruby Tuesday I think… And yes before you ask Finn, it does burgers.” Kurt replied.
Finn fist pumped silently and Kurt rolled his eyes at him giving him a shove out the door.
