Author's Notes: I think you guys will love this chapter. Nothing but Kurt and Blaine and fluff! It's a bit shorter than the other ones, but quality over quantity, am I right?
Blaine was in that half awake, half asleep state when he heard his alarm clock go off. His alarm clock that was in his room. His alarm clock that was in a different room than he was currently in. He groaned, refusing to wake up from his perfect dream. It involved Kurt falling in love with Annie, Lucille Ball stomping on grapes, and he and Kurt snuggling comfortably under a blanket, laughing the night away, and comforting his dog from a storm. It was absolutely perfect. So perfect that there was no way it could have been real.

The first thing Blaine noticed as he woke up was how comfortable he was. The second thing he noticed was the smell that filled his senses. It was both familiar and foreign, one that faded over the years, but he never wanted to forget. It was stronger than ever right now, and he wanted to drown in it. It wasn't until someone shifted beneath him that he came back to reality. His dream did happen. It was real. Now, he was in a position, both figuratively and literally, that he never thought in his wildest dreams he would be in. His heart sped up a little and he was afraid to open his eyes. Was Kurt awake? Was he freaking out as much as Blaine was at the moment? Somehow, they had fallen asleep last night, ending up with him using Kurt's chest as a pillow. Not to mention, he was shirtless with his ex-husband's arm subconsciously rubbing his back.

That is when he realized that there is no way that Kurt was awake. Under no circumstance would Kurt purposely caress his bare skin, even if he wanted to. He had way too much pride for that. The problem that Blaine faced was how to untangle himself without waking him up. However, every time he moved, Kurt would hold him a little tighter, and mumble the most adorable things. "A little while longer," he said, when Blaine lifted his head off his chest. "Missed morning cuddles," he mumbled, when Blaine finally freed his legs. He would've giggled at the cuteness if he wasn't so freaked out of Kurt waking up, adding an entire new layer of awkwardness to their already awkward situation.

He was close to disentangling himself from his ex-husband, when Annie came prancing out of the bathroom where she must've drank from the toilet. She had a tendency of being extremely hyper when she woke up, so a new level of dread came over him. She looked at him expectantly, her tail banging on the hardwood floor. "Annie, calm down," he whispered to her, hoping that she understood what that meant. Quite the contrary, he thought, as her feet pattered with happiness.

"Shh, Annie, don't." Blaine had to work fast because Kurt was starting to wake up. So he followed his instinct and jumped from the couch, sprinting into the kitchen, with Annie running after him, barking playfully. He was one hundred percent sure he looked like an absolute idiot, but that was not his main concern at the moment.

"S'goin' on?" He heard Kurt ask himself. He relaxed slightly at the fact that he barely made a clean getaway, but now had to figure out what to do to look busy. He looked around, finally eyeing the coffee maker. Perfect, he thought. He put the coffee beans into the maker, along with the water, and pressed the start button. He opened the refrigerator, looking for nothing in particular, when Kurt entered the kitchen. He looked incredible, as always. Kurt was wearing dark green silk pajamas, making his eyes pop more than usual. His hair was in every other direction, not a single gray in sight, and Blaine had to force himself to look away. Kurt was not his to look at anymore. He hasn't been for years. For some reason, that thought put a slight pang in his chest.

"Making breakfast?" Kurt asked through a yawn, smiling sleepily as he took his seat at the kitchen bar.

"Not this morning, sorry," he said, rubbing the back of his neck. He noticed Kurt blush and avert his eyes quickly. "Oh, sorry!" Blaine was half naked, obviously making his ex-husband uncomfortable. Kurt nodded and cleared his throat, still not looking in his direction. "I'll just, yeah. Be right back."

Blaine made his way to his bedroom with Annie on his heels. When he shut the door, he leaned his back on it, taking time to breathe. He heard the harsh breathing of his dog, and turned his head glare at her, "You are not making this easy for me, missy," he told her. She tilted her head in confusion. "Don't act like you don't know what I'm talking about. You're not as innocent as you look."

Blaine walked over to his closet and opened it dramatically, "What do you think I should wear today?" He looked at his dog, as if waiting for an answer. She seemed too concentrated on licking her toes to pay him any attention. He sighed, looking back to his extremely dull wardrobe. He ended up choosing a maroon polo shirt and his closest pair of dark jeans. He knew that Kurt used to love him in that color. Not that he was trying to impress him or anything. He was running late to the coffee shop, where he promised to meet his daughter, so he decided to skip the shower entirely. He brushed his teeth, which he usually did after his coffee, but his breath smelled gross, followed by adding just a little bit of moose to his unruly curls. He gave up on cementing his hair down with gel when he found a dreaded bald spot in the back of his head, just like Kurt warned him would happen. He looked at himself in the mirror, not hating how he looked today, and left the room.

"Hey," Kurt smiled shyly, as Blaine turned the corner into the living room. Annie ran straight toward Kurt, causing him to laugh. It was hard not to fall in love with that dog, no matter what a person felt about pit bulls. Kurt seemed to welcome her into his lap with open arms. He was dressed extremely casual. Kurt was wearing a thick coat over some skinny jeans and comfortable boots. That was it. Nothing fancy, or even semi formal. Blaine had to admit that he liked this look on him. "Um, I just got off the phone with Elizabeth," Kurt said, as he busied himself by rubbing Annie's belly, "She said she was meeting you this morning?"

Kurt was tired and confused, but he wasn't stupid. When he woke up, his arm was numb, there was a warm spot right next to him on the sofa, and he smelled like his ex-husband. He remembered the night before, Blaine falling asleep just before he did, and this morning, he caught a small flash of him sprinting to the kitchen, looking like a complete idiot. Somehow, Kurt thought, it was absolutely adorable. He decided not to bring it up because, well, that would be awkward. He knew he made the right decision when Blaine didn't bring it up either. It wasn't like what happened was anything serious. They fell asleep watching I Love Lucy together, big deal. However, what was the big deal was how much they got along that night. They could not stop giggling, feeling completely comfortable cuddling with each other and sharing a spoon of Ben & Jerry's ice cream. It was kind of eerie how quickly they were able to get back to how they were before their marriage began to spiral. For some reason, that brought a smile to his face.

"Yeah, I was just about to head out," Blaine said, feeling slightly uncomfortable to leave Kurt by himself in a strange house, "Do you want to come with? It's not a big deal," he assured him.

"Oh, that's not why I asked," Kurt backpedaled, feeling rude, "I really don't want to interrupt." And he really didn't. Elizabeth explained to him that they planned this breakfast before Kurt came to town. She didn't go into too much details as to why they were meeting up, or what they were going to talk about, but he was not going to pry because it was none of his business. Kurt had to admit, Blaine raised their daughter to be an incredible young woman. Not that he was surprised, because his ex was always good with Elizabeth. As much as he envied the bond that they shared, he also admired it. He was jealous, but he was also proud. Proud of both Blaine and Elizabeth. He just wished he was involved more than he was, but some of that was his own fault.

"You won't," Blaine said, maybe a little too quickly. He wasn't exactly sure why he wanted Kurt to accompany him as much as he did. Maybe it was because of how well they got along the previous night. Maybe he wanted to prove to Elizabeth that there was a possibility that he could actually get along with Kurt, which he knew would make her so happy. Or maybe it was because he wanted to spend more time with him. Maybe it was both. Yeah, it was definitely both

"I," Kurt hesitated, "you're sure?"

"Yes, I'm positive. Are you ready?" Kurt nodded and stood immediately. He was holding Broadway magazine on the page that Blaine left it. Great, he thought, now he looked creepy. Kurt caught that look and smiled wickedly.

"You know, I've had a few stalkers in my day," he said teasingly, causing Blaine to groan, "Who would have thought that my ex-husband was one of them?"

"And the plot thickens," Blaine said, causing Kurt to laugh.

Honestly, Kurt was beyond flattered that Blaine still kept up with his career. He found it cute that he actually left it on that page, as if he was specifically seeking him out. The picture that the magazine decided to print was definitely not his favorite. He looked like a wreck, crying his eyes out, wearing the clothes of a homeless person, literally. He read through the entire article, and he was telling the truth when he said that he needed to take time off. As much as he loved the stage, his personal life was suffering. Lately, he had been thinking about retirement, but he was not one hundred percent sure that he was ready to take his final bow. He had fame, he had money, he had awards, and he felt fulfilled as far as his career was concerned. His personal life, however, was quite the opposite.

"And I've only been here one day. I wonder where you keep your creepy shrine." Blaine opened the front door, letting Kurt out first. Force of habit, he told himself.

"There's no shrine. Voodoo dolls? Yes, but no shrine," he smiled, petting Annie one last time before closing the door.

"I think I'm going to end up loving your dog," Kurt said, changing the subject.

They entered the car, keeping the conversation light. When they left the driveway, they settled in a comfortable silence, with music playing softly in the background. Comfortable. They were getting too comfortable. Blaine wasn't sure whether that was a good thing or a bad thing. There is only one way to find out, he thought, and that was to let the universe do its thing.
