December 5
Blainey?
I’m not talking to you right now. (unsent)
[silence]
Blaine, we really need to talk
Please talk to me
Please don’t make this harder for me than it already is. (unsent)
[silence]
Please, Blainey?
In class.
You’re alive. When will you be out of class?
250 but I’m busy.
Can we please talk?
[silence]
I just want to explain
better than I did last night
I have a really big project that needs to be finished by Friday at 10am, and it’s barely started. Sorry.
We’re going to have to talk at some point
I was hoping that if I ignored it, it would just go away. (unsent)
Yeah, but this project is a final.
I understand that. Let me know when you’re free
K
I love you
[silence]
I really do
That’s why you’re making out with other guys in the park. (unsent)
I thought that cheating on boyfriends in the park was our thing? (unsent)
[silence]
Talk to you later, Blainey
See ya.
Kurt walks into Starbucks, orders a grande nonfat mocha, and sits down at a table, staring at his phone.
Blaine is already in Starbucks, but isn’t at the table when Kurt enters. He exits the restroom and heads back to his table, where things are spread all over, though he’s looking at none of it. When he notices Kurt, he immediately starts to hurry and pack up, hoping that he hasn’t been seen.
Kurt looks up when he hears motion and sees Blaine packing up. He immediately stands up and walks over to him.
“Blaine.”
“Kurt, hey. I was just leaving.”
“You’re really in that much of a hurry?”
“I, uh... was going to go back to my apartment and uh, write.”
“Write?”
“Music.... Composition...”
“C-can I come and cook you dinner later? We could talk?”
Blaine, who finds himself looking up at Kurt, realizes that he’s doing so when the other asks to come over, and he looks back down, continuing to pack up his things.
“I dunno Kurt. I have... a lot of... um, work.. to do.”
“You’re blowing me off. Why?”
“I’m not... blowing you off. It’s, I’m... I don’t know.”
“You don’t know?”
“Yeah, I don’t know. I’m trying not to think too much.”
“Okay. Fine. Go. Work.”
“Now I feel even worse. Just come along.”
“You sure you won’t be too busy working?”
“I’ll work around you.”
“Alright. Let’s go, I guess.”
“Yeah. I guess.”
Blaine stands and shoulders his loaded bookbag, and glances at Kurt before picking up his now-cold coffee and tossing it in the trash can as he walks past it and out of the coffee shop.
Kurt picks up his mocha and follows Blaine out of the coffee shop, itching at the chance to talk to Blaine.
“Weather’s nice today. Warm, isn’t it?”
“Yeah. Surprisingly.”
“Kind of weird when last month it was snowing, and it’s December now.”
“It is really weird. I never expected something like this.”
“Yeah. Neither did I.”
“You know, I still have some of those snowflakes in my room.”
“Really? Those were silly, weren’t they?”
“Not really. They were really sweet.”
“You thought someone was stalking you.”
“At first, yes. Then, when I found out it was you, I loved them.”
“Why was it different because it was me?”
“Because... because it was you. I cared about you.”
“It was kind of fun, seeing your reaction to each one. Getting the texts.”
“I was so freaked out. And you and Rach weren’t helping at all.”
“I almost gave it away like a hundred times. Though, the very last one, that whole thing was a little bit last minute. She came up with the idea to have the door guy at Callbacks give you one, and then we had to change it because Sebastian and W...”
Blaine stops talking and remembers their situation.
“We need to talk about that soon.”
“Maybe after I do a little work.”
“Okay...”
They arrive at Blaine’s building, and Blaine leads the way up to his apartment, his palms starting to sweat with nerves. He unlocks his door and pushes it open, having forgotten about the origami snowflakes that littered his coffee table and the boxing gloves he’d left out the prior evening. He clears his throat.
“I have to write. You can come with me, into my room, if you want.
“Alright. Sure.”
Kurt chooses not to comment on the state of the apartment.
Blaine heads into his bedroom, dropping his bookbag on the floor and taking off his hoodie, piling it on top of the bookbag. He sits down right away at the little black piano bench in front of his keyboard and hits the power switch before stretching his fingers.
“Any genre requests or anything? I have to warm up a little. Get into the groove.”
“Bublé.”
Blaine shoots a glance at Kurt and then looks back at the keys, hesitating. When the inspiration hits him, his fingers just go, and he hums along, ‘Heartache Tonight’ coming out.
Kurt listens, tempted to hum along with Blaine, but holding himself back.
Closing his eyes, Blaine just lets go.
“Theres gonna be a heartache tonight,
The moons shinin’ bright
So turn out the light, and we’ll get it right.
There’s gonna be a heartache tonight, a
Heartache tonight I know.”
“You have an incredible voice, you know.”
Blaine peeks at Kurt from the corner of his eye, letting his fingers keep playing on the keyboard, doodling.
Kurt blushes just a bit and looks down, still standing awkwardly in the middle of the room.
“You can sit... on the bed. If you want.”
“Sure. Thanks.”
Trying not to think about the last time he was on the bed, Kurt sits delicately at the edge, watching Blaine.
Biting his lip, Blaine continues playing, fading through several well-known songs, and songs that are meaningful to him about Kurt, humming absently with most of them.
Kurt listens quietly, not trusting himself to speak again.
‘A Thousand Miles’ fades into ‘I’m The Only One,’ which fades into ‘Everything,’ which Blaine can’t help but slow down just a bit, and sing one line.
“You’re every line, you’re every word, you’re everything.”
“Are you still mad at me?”
The piano music stops but Blaine doesn’t turn around. Or even move.
“I don’t know what I am.”
“You forgot again? You’re a human gay male.”
Blaine’s shoulders move with the silent chuckle, but he doesn’t say anything for a while. When he does finally speak, his voice is quiet.
“It wasn’t so bad when it was just some random person that thought you were possibly up for grabs. But when it was Wes.... Wes... gets what he wants. He always does.”
“I know that now. I’ll be perfectly honest, he freaked me out with the whole coffee flavor thing.”
“What?”
“He kept going on about how vanilla and spice mixed well, and how vanilla and chocolate were okay, but vanilla needed to be with spice and I didn’t really know what he was talking about but it freaked me out.”
“Weird. Or I guess, that’s his thing. Maybe.”
“Mhm. I probably could have guessed how weird he was, but I was determined to prove that I could make friends with him...”
“I tried... I tried to warn you. ...He used to say that spice went so well with chocolate. Kurt.”
Blaine turns around and looks at the other.
“He always gets what he wants.”
“I know you did. And I’m sorry for not listening to you. But I’m telling you the honest truth when I say that I pulled away from the kiss immediately and left.”
Kurt wonders whether to say that he saw Wes at Callbacks or not.
“I know, I believe you. I believed you before you said it. It’s just... I feel like he’s just going to steal you away, right out from under me, and one day you’ll be his and I won’t know what hit me. It’s happened before. It’ll happen again. So, I figure I should just … you know... give in.”
“I’m so glad...”
Kurt breathes a sigh of relief, but something Blaine said nags at him.
“He was at Callbacks tonight. I saw him. He got up and left.”
“He’s already starting. That was quick.”
Blaine turns back to his keyboard and plays at the high end of the keys.
“Sh-should I go?”
“Do you want to?”
“I think I should. We’re not okay, and I need time to think.”
Blaine slouches a little and nods, the notes coming from his keyboard going down an octave.
“I’ll see you around, Blainey?”
Blaine nods again, the notes fading in strength and speed.
“Mhm.”
“I love you...”
The response that comes from Blaine’s lips is barely audible.
“I love you too.”
Hey, Blaine?
[a long while later]
Yeah?
What happened between you and Kurt? He’s like a zombie at home.
Technically nothing happened between ME and Kurt.
Pardon me?
You should probably take this up with him.
Again, I say. He’s like a zombie. I’ve tried. But nothing works.
Fine. You want to know what happened? He’s been hanging out with Wes behind my back, which whatever, but they kissed. In the park. And Okay, maybe he didn’t like it or whatever he says, but if Wes liked it, then Wes is going to go after him, so I might as well just step out of the picture now because Wes always gets what he wants.
Sorry for the three text answer.
Got carried away.
Um, wow.
You should take that up with Wes
I don’t really want to deal with him.
Especially if he’s angry.
Why would he be angry?
Oh, we ran into Sebastian last night on the way back to my apartment. Apparently they were messing around and Wes called him Kurt. And Sebastian left.
I lived with Wes for years. When things like that happen, he’s angry.
I see. This is a mess...
Yeah. It is. But, maybe you’re right. Maybe I should talk to Wes.
You should. I’ll talk to Kurt... if he’ll let me. Or I’ll go talk to Seb. Or something.
Good luck with that.
Wes.
Oh, Hello, Blaine. How are you on this fine day?
Cut the crap. What’s going on?
I’m not sure what you mean.
Stop playing. Why are you going after Kurt?
Wow, you’re pretty brave. I don’t remember that being one of your traits.
Shut up and answer the question.
I wasn’t, really. It just happened.
Liar.
Why would I lie to you?
Did you really just ask that?
It doesn’t matter what you say, or how you ask. You’re going to get the same answer every time.
Which is?
None of your business.
It kind of is. You kissed my boyfriend.
Oh, you heard about that?
He was practically begging me for it.
He was not.
On the contrary. All I had to do was ask if he wanted to get coffee with me a couple of times. He always said yes.
He wanted to trust you.
Everyone knows me. He knew me. He wouldn’t have accepted my offer to walk in the park if he’d thought it was innocent.
[silence]
And the realization sets in.
He might not admit it, or even know about it, but your boyfriend, he’s got a thing for me.
Stop it, Wes.
Sorry, Blaine. Sorry I’m not sorry.
You’re such an ass.
You’re so eloquent.
Seb, is everything alright?
Yeah, why do you ask?
Because I heard an interesting story just now
What?
About Wes... and Kurt...
God, does the whole world know?
Seriously, I feel like an idiot
You’re not. I don’t know Wes very well, but he seems like a horrible person
He’s not, really
Well, not to people he cares about
But he’s also really caught up in making everything so it benefits him
So, a horrible person
Kurt may have cheated on Anderson. But Wes cheated on me
And I feel terrible
Because Kurt cheated on me
You’ve been cheating on Kurt
God, I know, Rach
And I’m so sorry
Not me you should be apologising to
I know
Can we hang out sometime (unsent)
Wanna do something?
I think that would be a good idea. Because I’ve said it before, I do still care about you
Thanks Rachie
Seb, are you crying over there?
No...yes.
Thought so. Coffee? Not Starbucks, but some other place. Half an hour?
I’d like that. Thanks Rach
You’re welcome, Sebbie
<3
<3
I will find you. And hurt you.
I appreciate your threat. It made for a good laugh.
You are a horrible person
I live for myself. Not everyone else. Sorry I’m not sorry.
I don’t appreciate you ruining my best friend’s life.
Everything was fine until your best friend fell in love with Blaine.
They’re meant to be together
And you and Seb seemed like a good match for each other too
Well, until you broke his heart
Which I’m also mad about
Because Seb’s a close friend of mine
Do you really have to come and ruin our lives like this?
Do you really have to send multiple texts?
Sebastian and I are perfect for each other. We always have been, and we always will be.
I’m not the only one who does that
Well, newsflash. Seb’s torn up right now
[silence]
Struck a nerve, did I?
Mind your own business.
This is my business
You think everything is your business, don’t you?
Only things that involve my best friends
What, exactly, do you want from me, Miss Berry?
I want you to stop messing with Kurt and Seb
I don’t ‘mess’ with people.
Oh, really now?
Really.
Then what do you do?
I’m not answering that.
Coward
You’ve got some nerve, little girl.
I really care about my friends. And you’re messing with them. You will pay for it
Whatever you say.
Just letting you know. Now, I have a voice jury. It was a pleasure doing business with you
Oh yes. Business. Best of luck in your voice jury.
And, do me a favor. Make sure Sebastian is alright.
Thanks
… I will....
What the hell is going on?
Pardon?
Let’s see. Seb accuses me of being with you. Am I supposed to just brush that off?
And, how does that make you feel?
I can’t believe I ever thought you could be a good person
Neither can I! I especially can’t believe that you didn’t trust Blaine when he told you.
I wanted to make my own decision about you
You’re exactly the same as you were at Dalton
People don’t change.
People can change
Blaine’s proof of that
Are you really just that naive? Blaine was never who you thought he was.
Actually, he isn’t who you think he is now.
What’s that supposed to mean?
Take it how you want.
Stop being jealous that Blaine and I are meant to be
You really hurt Seb
Jealous? Oh, you make me laugh.
And, you don’t need to bring up Sebastian.
Why not? Hit a nerve?
Why does everyone keep asking that? I don’t give a rat’s ass if Sebastian is happy or not. He’s the one that walked out on me, not the other way around. Oh, and if you see him, tell him I want my shirt back.
Like it or not, he seemed really upset last night. And even after he hurt me, I can’t stand to see him upset. So figure things out. And leave me and Blaine alone
I have nothing to figure out. Keep your slimy little nose in your own business, and out of mine.
This is my business
Considering you said my name when you were with Sebastian
Freudian slip. I was thinking about how much I hate you.
Right. I don’t know if I’ll see him, but I think Rach will
I’ll tell her to tell him that you want your shirt
Thanks. Really, it wouldn’t bother me, except it was one of my favorites.
Right. Okay. And Wes?
Yes?
Stalking people isn’t cool
You didn’t seem to mind it when it was Captain Bowtie doing the stalking.
Actually, I was freaking out
Yeah, and then that lame snowflake thing, that was cool for you too. Hypocrite.
Again, I was freaking out
And yet, each time it happened, you still went back to him.
There’s a difference.
Not really.
Yes really
Whatever. I wasn’t stalking you. I just happened to be there at the same time.
Yeah. Sure. Whatever.
I’m not going to sit here and play that I’m some poor misunderstood creature. You can all try what you want. I still don’t know what you’re going for. Guilt? Doesn’t work on me.
I’m going for the fact that I still care about someone who’s been a very good friend of mine for years, and he’s a total wreck right now according to Rachel
[silence]
Mhm. I have stuff to do now. Don’t try to contact me
How is he?
People are staring
That bad?
Yeah. He’s really torn up. I’m about to cry
Just be there for him
Yup
I hate him being upset
He doesn’t want to see you
I’m not surprised
He noticed I was on my phone. Sorry
Love you Rach
<3
This is completely out of character for me, but I need to say something before it eats me alive. There’s obviously something wrong with me. I hate a lot of things, but I hate the most when you’re upset. I’m sorry that I did that, I don’t know what I was thinking. It wasn’t even worth it. Not if I’m going to lose you. Nothing is worth it if I’m going to lose you. I know it’s probably too late, but I need you to know, just so that I don’t regret not telling you, and even if I spend a lot of time in denial about it. I love you, Sebastian.
Don’t walk away.
[a short time later]
Do you mean that?
Yes.
You hurt me
I know.
Why?
I don’t know.
You don’t know.
I don’t. I didn’t think it was anything. At the time. But it was. And I hate myself for it.
Wes... I need time to think.
[silence]
I’m sorry. It’s just been a weird month
I know.
I don’t know if I can handle being cheated on for the second time in under a month. Even if I cheated for years
Don’t.
Don’t what?
Please.
Wes, don’t do this to me. I’ve already made a whole coffee shop full of people wonder about my emotional stability
[silence]
If you cared, you’d come down to the coffee shop we met at whenever that was. Rachel and I are there
It’s only a few minutes later that Wes walks through the door of the coffee shop, immediately spotting Sebastian. He stares, completely ignoring that Rachel is there.
Sebastian looks up as the door opens and sees Wes. He’s obviously been crying. Rachel turns in her seat to see what Sebastian is looking at, and glares at Wes.
“What is he doing here?”
Wes has no choice but to move when someone decides, in the middle of his moment, that they need to leave. He steps to the side and then toward Sebastian. He ignores Rachel still, stopping once he reaches the table. Someone who knew him well would be able to see that he’d been recently crying.
Sebastian notices that Wes has been crying, but remains sitting at the table, trying to focus on Rachel. It isn’t working.
“Please...”
“Wh-”
“Go aw-”
“Rachel. Stay out of this.”
Rachel glares at Wes and stands up, moving to a different table where she can keep an eye on the two of them.
“What?”
Wes continues to ignore Rachel as she gets up and moves to another table. His eyes are focused at Sebastian. He doesn’t sit when Rachel is gone, but stands there with his hands in his coat pockets.
“Don’t go away.”
“Why not? It looks like you’re the one who’s gonna go away, anyway. Sit down.”
Slowly, Wes takes the seat that Rachel has vacated.
“You’re the only thing keeping me grounded. I need you.”’
“Are you serious?”
“What do you mean, am I serious? I’m not in the habit of telling people actual emotional things and then letting them turn out to be lies. I have never... felt? said this? done this? with anyone else.”
“You have been a huge part of my life for five years, Wes. I’ve grown to appreciate you. But when you... said his name... it never felt like you felt the same way I did. Ever. I didn’t know for sure how you felt about me until... until you sent me that text a few minutes ago.”
Wes looks at his lap.
“I’ve never had an issue hurting people. It’s pretty much in my nature. The comments, the actions, they all come naturally. But... hurting you... that hurt me too. I don’t want to do that anymore.”
“So, what you’re saying is...?”
“I actually want to make an effort. Not to hurt you. I still don’t care about anyone else. But it will destroy me if you’re not there anymore.”
“You’re an idiot. But I love you.”
Looking back up at Sebastian, Wes raises his eyebrows.
“You do?”
“I do. Five years is a long time to really get to know someone.”
“Even though I’m an asshole?”
“It’s what makes me love you, asshole.”
“Really? That’s what did it for you?”
“Shut up and get over here.”
Wes slides off the chair and rounds the table to Sebastian’s side, leaning first, then crouching down in front of the other, so that he isn’t so tall and awkward while Sebastian sits.
Sebastian stares at Wes for a moment before leaning in and kissing him, his hand on Wes’s cheek.
Kissing back, Wes sighs in relief, his shoulders relaxing a bit at Sebastian’s touch to his face.
Kurtieeeeeeeee~
What?
Seb’s happy. Back with Wes.
Good
Blaine?
Yeah?
You don’t have to worry about Wes being after Kurt
Well, I mean, I wasn’t like, getting on my alter-ego super hero costume or anything, but how do you know?
Because I’m watching Wes and Seb make out in a coffee shop after expressing their love for one another
I’m sorry, what?
I was with Seb. And Wes sent him this long emotional text. And now Wes is here, and they seem to be okay, considering they haven’t stopped kissing each other
Kurt?
Yeah?
I’m an asshole.
Why?
I should’ve fought for you. Literally.
I was just so afraid. Or convinced.
So, I’m sorry.
Don’t be sorry
I should have been honest with you
I should have listened to you
I let my stupid pride get in the way
I was going to let him steal you from me.
It wouldn’t have happened. I love you
I love you too, but he’s ruthless. He’d have found a way to get you.
And I was just giving up.
We’re okay, though. Wes and Seb are back together
I heard.
You... did...?
Rachel texted me.
Oh.
Sorry?
No, it’s okay. I just wanted to be the one to tell you we were all okay again. But it’s cool that Rach thought of you as well
She told me earlier that I should talk to him. I didn’t want to, but I did ask him to stop going after you.
You did?
I did.
I talked to him too. Told him off for everything.
I sort of just asked him not to talk to you anymore. Or go after you. Or whatever it was. I deleted the convo because it made me angry.
Mhm I can understand that
But I’m still a jerk, and I’m still sorry.
And I still forgive you. And I’m still sorry
I still love you. You’re still my favorite.
I still love you too. You’re still my dork
Guilty.
I promise I won’t let anything come between us ever again.
Even if I have to get out my boxing gloves and actually hit someone.
I’m so glad. You’re perfect. You’re my teenage dream. I don’t ever want to be apart from you
I can’t sleep. Let’s run away and don’t ever look back.
My heart stops when you look at me
Just one touch, now baby I believe
This is real
So take a chance and don’t ever look back.
I’m so happy right now
You have no idea.
I’m literally bouncing on my bed
But I am not there! How is that fair?!
You could come over... if you’ve finished your project
Project? I’ve been finished with that for like... four days.
That’s not what you told me this morning.
Um. I was making excuses?
I can’t be mad at that after what I did
You should come over
I’m making chicken parmesan for dinner
Gosh, now I’m being Rach with the multiple texts
I’m so coming over.
I’m already out the door.
Can’t wait to see you :)
Will there be more bouncing on your bed?
If you’d like
I think we should have a tickle fight.
I don’t like that idea
Chocolate fight?
I like that idea
Or just a tickle fight. You can try and find my spot. I have one.
You’re inevitably going to have me squirming before I can find your spot
I’ll give you a five minute head start.
Fine ;)
Blaine knocks on the door to Kurt and Rachel’s apartment.
Kurt answers the door, practically bouncing off the roof with excitement.
“Rach just texted me that Brody’s taking her out for dinner. So it’s just the two of us.”
The smile on Blaine’s face stretched further and he steps into the apartment, quickly shedding his coat.
“What, did you tell her that I was coming over or something?”
“No. That’s the nice bit about it all!”
Unable to contain himself, Kurt grabs Blaine and kisses him, glad they are okay again.
Blaine drops his coat on the floor and wraps his arms around Kurt, not wanting to ever let him go. However, he does pull back slightly.
“We should just stay holed up in one of our apartments forever, and never have to deal with crap anymore.”
“I wholeheartedly agree...”
“We wouldn’t have to get dressed either.”
And with that, his lips meet Kurt’s again, breathing in his scent and almost going weak at the knees from it.
Kurt kisses back, breathing in deeply and clutching at Blaine’s back.
“If that’s the case, then we’ll have to live at your apartment. I’m sure Rach wouldn’t appreciate us walking around with no clothes...”
“But, we’re...”
Blaine interrupts himself, licking his lips and then kissing Kurt again.
“...so hot.”
“That’s why I want to save the view for each other and not share it with Rachel...”
Kurt kisses Blaine again after he speaks, making this one linger.
Blaine responds with a kiss so full of heat that it’s making him want to take his shirt off.
“W-we... we should... eat... first...”
“Whatever you want.”
“I have you wrapped around my finger, don’t I?”
“Only because you... yes.”
“What were you about to say?”
Kurt smirks.
“You make me crazy, Kurt. I can’t even think.”
“It’s my pleasure, Blainey.”
Blaine bites his lip through a smirk and raises one eyebrow. He doesn’t say what he’s thinking either, but looks Kurt up and down, stopping on the way back up at Kurt’s lips.
“So. Dinner? It’s ready.”
“Yes please.”
“So polite. Alright, come on.”
Kurt leads Blaine to the table where he’s already laid out everything they need. The last thing is the food, which is sitting warm. He serves each of them and sits down, grinning.
Blaine sits down staring at the beautiful meal in front of him and then looking up to Kurt.
“Wow. My mouth is watering. Everything smells so delicious. And looks fantastic.”
“Thank you. Wait until you taste it.”
“I... can’t... wait.”
Kurt begins to eat in silence, stealing quick glances at Blaine as he does so.
Blaine follows suit, starting to pay more attention to the food than to Kurt, little appreciative sounds of deliciousness escaping him.
“Kurt, can you please cook for me every night?”
“Sweetie, I’d love to. But then you’d never learn how to cook for yourself.”
“I’ve lived on my own for a while now and I got by. Microwaves and baby carrots. It’s all I need. Unless you’re cooking. Then I’ll need a gym. Cause I’ll just eat forever.”
“Oh dear, we can’t have that. Maybe I shouldn’t cook for you.”
“What if I promise to control myself?”
“I’d be more inclined to cook for you.”
“Okay, I promise to control myself.”
“Good. Because I do enjoy cooking for you. A lot.”
“I enjoy eating what you cook for me. A lot.”
“I’m glad.”
Kurt smiles widely.
“The microwave chicken parmesans suck compared to this.”
“That’s because they’re stock full of preservatives and stuff.”
“I’ve been eating them for like three years now.”
“Oh, god, you need a detox, stat.”
“Well, I eat the baby carrots too. And sometimes bananas. And I basically only drink coffee, so I think I’m okay.”
“You’ve been so deprived of good food. I’m so sorry for you.”
“You’re just going to have to open my eyes then, aren’t you?”
“Why yes. Yes I am.”
“You really are a fantastic cook. Seriously. Can I just hire you to be my personal chef?”
“We’ve been over this countless times.”
“Cabana boy?”
“Seriously, Blaine?”
“Sorry.”
“How about we stick with I cook you dinner every once in awhile to keep you on good food?”
“I guess that’ll work.”
“Good.”
Kurt finishes his dinner and smiles across the table at Blaine.
Blaine is focusing on his food for another moment, and glances up at Kurt, doing a double take when he is met by Kurt’s eyes.
“I could probably eat all of the leftovers too.”
“I perfectly portioned it to you. No more tonight.”
Kurt smirks.
Blaine raises his eyebrows.
“No more? I hope that doesn’t go across the board.”
“I believe I get a five minute head start on a tickle war.”
Blaine’s face lights up and he pushes his chair out from the table at the same time as he speaks.
“That’s right! You do. So, clean up now or later?”
“Later.”
Kurt stands up immediately and walks around the table to Blaine.
“So, where would you like to have this little war?”
“Wherever. Couch, bed, floor? I don’t care. You’re gonna have a fun time finding my spot though.”
“The floor would be uncomfortable. The couch is a little small. The bed is the best option. And I will find it.”
Kurt takes Blaine’s hand and tries to drag him towards his bedroom.
“Oh, I don’t know about that.”
Blaine is happily dragged across the apartment, and puts up absolutely no fight about Kurt picking the bed as the perfect place for their tickle war.
Once they reach Kurt’s bed, Kurt holds Blaine close to him beside the bed and kisses him.
Blaine hooks his thumbs in Kurt’s pants pockets and returns Kurt’s kiss, trying to relax so that even if Kurt does find the ticklish spot, he can pretend that he hasn’t.
Kurt immediately starts tickling Blaine, experimenting in different areas.
Blaine shakes his head.
“Nope. Nope.”
“Damnit, where?”
Kurt tries other places, trying to find his tickle spot.
“You’re not going to find it.”
Kurt only smirks and kisses Blaine again, his hands roaming down Blaine’s back and delving just past the waistband of his jeans.
The look on Blaine’s face is cocky as Kurt kisses him, and he returns the kiss, actually enjoying the five minute head start that was already a minute in. When Kurt’s hands reach his waistline, his fingers inching just below, Blaine twitches a little, sucking in air.
“Hmm, interesting...”
Kurt keeps his fingers where they are, ghosting just beneath his waistband, and bends down to plant a kiss on Blaine’s collarbone.
Blaine closes his eyes, trying so hard to ignore Kurt’s fingers. He cannot ignore Kurt’s lips on his collarbone, however, and clenches his teeth.
“I thought... this.. was ...a tickle fight...”
“Sorry, I’m not very good at those...”
Kurt gives Blaine a light push, trying to get him to fall back on the bed.
Blaine falls backward onto the bed, breathing in the scent of Kurt all around him and smirks up.
“You aren’t even trying.”
“I thought I was.”
Kurt smirks and tickles some more, noticing that Blaine’s feet are now available to him. Shifting around, he manages to maneuver Blaine onto his stomach and straddles him, bending his leg back and starting to tickle his feet.
Blaine allows Kurt to roll him around, very confident that his ticklish spot will not be found. It’s only a few seconds later that he completely regrets his decision and tries to hold in struggling laughter. Unfortunately, the fact that he’s trying to pull his leg out of Kurt’s grasp is probably giving him away, as are the gasps for air and sanity.
“That’s not... Kurt, stop! Oh my God! You have to stop! It’s .. it’s … not... oh my god... it’s not... fair...”
“Victory!”
Kurt laughs and continues tickling Blaine’s feet, knowing he’s found the spot.
Blaine’s arms flail as he tries to grab Kurt from behind, missing him every time he makes a reach. He settles for grabbing the top blanket with one hand and flailing the other which trying to kick his leg free from Kurt’s grasp.
“Kurt... seriously... I’m... I’m gonna die... oh my god... Kuuurrrrttttt... ha-stop... please!”
Kurt finally stops and just sits on Blaine for a moment, laughing.
“I found it.”
Blaine lays there, nearly spent from all the energy he’s been using to try and fight off Kurt. He breathes heavily, trying to catch his breath, his eyes closed. He lets go of Kurt’s bedding, leaving a group of bunched up wrinkles where his fist had held on tightly.
“Not... fair...”
“So fair.”
“Not. Were you... trying... to kill me?”
“No, but the reaction I got was pretty awesome.”
“It’s not... awesome. At all.”
“I believe my five minutes are almost up.”
“Oh, darn.”
“You’re not going to be able to get me back, though.”
Kurt is still sitting on Blaine.
“Come on! How is that even remotely fair?”
Blaine struggles to try and get up.
“It’s so fair.”
Blaine turns his head to the other side, and tries to look back at Kurt. His hair is all over the place, the gel having worked it’s way out during his epic struggle and laughter.
“You’re a maniac.”
“I prefer the term grasshopper.”
“As your president, I demand to be let up. I veto this whole... lack of me tickling you thing.”
“No.”
“How is it fair that I can’t fight back?”
“See what you can do to me.”
Blaine reaches backward, his hands finding Kurt’s feet and attempting to tickle them.
Kurt jerks his feet out of the way and spins around so he’s facing Blaine’s head, trying to keep his feet away from Blaine’s hands.
“Nice try.”
“Oh come on. Now I can reach, like, your knees.”
Blaine’s hands find Kurt’s knees and he smirks, making every attempt to run his hands up the inside of Kurt’s leg, and failing.
“Stupid short arms.”
Kurt tries to stay focused, and shifts back a bit, trying to stay out of reach.
“Oops.”
“I am... literally... defenseless.”
“I wouldn’t say that. You are lying with my favourite part of you to kiss against the bed so I can’t reach it.”
“That’s a good point. Maybe I should point and laugh. Haha...”
Blaine points his finger, even though his arm is laying on the bed.
“That’s not very nice.”
Kurt bends down and kisses the back of Blaine’s neck.
Blaine smiles into the blankets.
“I have to be not nice to get things like that?”
“I guess so.”
This time, Kurt kisses the side of Blaine’s neck.
Trying to steal a kiss, Blaine attempts to turn his head to get to Kurt.
“I live off of baby carrots and tv dinners, Kurt. That’s not nice.”
“Poor Blainey.”
“It’s terrible. Then I have to point and laugh at myself.”
“Sounds really terrible.”
“Oh it really is. Come on, I’m saying not nice things. I should be getting little prizes.”
“Would you like a bigger prize?”
“Yes please.”
“I’m going to let you up. Because I think we’re both a little overdressed.”
Raising his eyebrows, Blaine nods.
“Oh, yes, I completely agree.”
Kurt gets off of Blaine and starts unbuttoning his shirt.
Blaine rolls over and sits up, reaching over and helping Kurt with a couple of buttons before he pulls his own long-sleeved tshirt off, tossing it to the floor.
“A bit better.”
Kurt leans in, kissing Blaine.
“Missed that while I was sitting on you.”
“So much better. I missed all of it. Any time it’s not happening, actually.”
Blaine lets his hands trail around Kurt’s waist and pulls him down on the bed with him.
Kurt, I’m coming home early. In fact, I’m just arriving at the building now
“Yeah...”
Kurt barely has time to grin at Blaine before he’s being dragged down.
“For that, you get this.”
He manages to get his lips on Blaine’s collarbone.
Blaine bites his lip and watches Kurt.
“Oh, that is so fair...”
Rachel arrives at the door to the apartment, putting her key in the lock.
“So not fair. Which is why you got a kiss there.”
Kurt kisses the other side of Blaine’s collarbone.
“Keep going.”
Blaine leans his head back, closing his eyes.
“Oh my.. god... Kurt...”
Rachel walks in, looking around for Kurt. Seeing light from his bedroom, she smiles and walks over, peeking in just in time for Blaine’s comment. Her eyes open wide and she gasps.
“What are you two doing?”
Blaine is just about to settle into a blissful feeling, when he hears Rachel’s voice. His eyes fly open and he looks over to the door.
“Rachel?”
Kurt is ready to kiss all along Blaine’s collarbone when he hears a familiar, not-Blaine voice. Looking over, he groans.
“I thought you were going to be out all evening...”
“Stuff happened. I’m back. You two...”
“Should have closed the door...”
“I didn’t think she was going to be back.”
“Standing right here, Kurt. But I guess I could go do something. Or I could stay and make sure you two stay innocent.”
“I’m not sure what kind of friend either of those options makes you.”
“You’re mean, Rach.”
“I’ve gotta look out for my bestie, right? I think I’ll just go watch tv in the living room. I’d better not hear anything!”
Rachel walks to the couch in the living room and sits down, turning on the tv but keeping the volume low.
“I’m sorry, Blaine...”
“Oh, it’s okay.”
Blaine smirks up at Kurt, almost evilly, then running his hands from Kurt’s waist to his shoulders, where he leans in and kisses.
“She’s gone.”
Kurt shivers.
“She is.”
Blaine buries his face in Kurt’s neck, peppering his skin with kisses and nibbles.
“Oh, stop it, Blaine!”
Kurt tries to hold himself together and tilts his head so he can give Blaine the same treatment.
Blaine lets out a sigh that turns into more of a moan, pulling Kurt as close as he can.
“We’re going to get in trouble.”
Kurt shakes his head, getting his lips on Blaine’s collarbone again... until...
“I DON’T NEED TO HEAR MY BEST FRIEND AND HIS BOYFRIEND WHILE I’M TRYING TO RELAX!”
Comments
I think that that was probably the best chapter yet..I liked how everything worked out. The Wes and Seb thing was soooo cute(I cant believe I just wrote that). And the Blaine and Kurt thing was also soooo sweet. I like how Rachel tried to help everyone while still being her exteremly nosey self. Just one question what happened to make Rachel come home early? Love this story literally in the top 3 of my favorite fanfics.
Glad you enjoyed it! And you'll find out about Rachel soon enough ;)
This chapter was awesome. I am so glad that everybody made up and that Wes actually showed Sebastian he had a heart. Blaine and Kurt making up was the best and I found Rachel's interruptions of their making up to be hilarious. I can't wait to see what happens next.
Haha, we're glad you're enjoying it!
