“Carole, its 11:37. Kurt’s curfew is 11:30, not 11:32, or 11:35. Do you know where this is going?” Burt paced the living room anxiously. Kurt had never broken curfew since he’s had one.
“11:40?” Carole responded from the couch. She was channel surfing while wearing pajamas, the complete picture of Saturday night relaxation.
“Not funny. Where could he be?” Burt stopped pacing.
“Why don’t you just look outside? You know he likes to sit out there sometimes. There’s probably not even a reason to worry.” Carole put the remote down, finally settling on a channel. Burt walked over to the front door and flung it open, expecting to see anything but Kurt kissing some boy.
“Dad! Don’t you knock?!” Kurt said breathless. He would have come up with something more intelligent had he not just been finishing off the best night of his life.
Burt raised an eyebrow and eyed the two boys suspiciously. The boy Kurt had been kissing was Blaine. “Kurt! Time to come in!” He called sarcastically. “Now wipe your shoes and take off the boy.”
Kurt sighed and gave Blaine one last kiss on the cheek. “See you at school.”
Burt smiled to himself and decided to question Kurt in the morning. “Bye, Blaine,” he said politely, trying to show that he wasn’t angry. Blaine looked like a deer during hunting season, even as he walked back to his car.
