Author's Notes: klaine week day 2- au!klaine
“Welcome to WMHS, school for the supernaturally gifted. This year you will find that the East Corridor is under construction, and any classes you have there will be in B building instead. Now that that’s out of the way, let me explain why you’re all here. Last year you received a letter accepting you to a school for which you never applied. I assume that before then, most of you will have had some experience with you’re powers. You are at this school to learn how to control them, whatever they may be.”

Kurt looked around the auditorium they were in. students were scattered around, and most of the seats were taken either by teenagers or their bags and jackets. Kurt was seated in between somebody who smelled downright horrible and a who’s name was actually a car, but he couldn’t quite remember. The principal of the school droned on, explaining the school’s history.

“There are specific classes for your abilities, and classes you will all take, such as defence against other supernatural attacks.” The speech wore on, and nobody perked up until the introductions came. Each teacher had a specific power, some more interesting than others.

Kurt already knew his, but he didn’t fully understand it. He could call on elements like wind, fire, earth, and water. The most he wad learned to do was boil water in .01 seconds.

*

Blaine hung on every word that Principal Figgins had to say. He soaked it all in, making sure that he would forget nothing. Blaine had no clue what his power was supposed to be. He’d never had any experience with it. He knew his parents were supernatural, and they assured him that he would be, too. Blaine was really worried when puberty hit and his powers still hadn’t made an appearance. His parents put a lot of pressure on him to work with Supernaturals.

“For those of you whose powers haven’t grown yet, don’t worry. Your at this school to develop them until they are mature. At the end of each year you will have a test on your powers. If they are developing properly, you will be giving a more advanced set of classes the next year. If you’re struggling, you will repeat the year. This is not the equivalent of failing. Your powers have a mind of their own, at first, and will develop at their own speed. As they develop, you will learn how to control them.

“The amount of time it takes for you to graduate from WMHS is completely up to your powers. It could take you two years or it could take you ten. We completely understand that some people do not want these powers, they don’t want something like that almost controlling their life. If you wish, you may have your powers revoked after two years of training. Misuse of powers will also cause you to have them revoked. A Supernatural with revoked powers does not live a full life. You will not feel completely human. You will feel like you have a huge hole in your heart, and it will not be fun.

“I’d like to take this moment to remind you that once your training is over, your powers no longer control you. You control them completely, and you may even choose not to use them. Patience is highly encouraged here. Without further ado, you may all grab a sheet from Ms Pillsbury outside and fill it out. Put it in the hand in sheet when you are done.”

Everybody slowly filed out of the dark auditorium and grabbed a sheet. Kids started filling the out against walls, on the floor, back in the auditorium, everywhere. Blaine noticed one boy who was leaning against a wall at the end of the hallway, filling his form out on what appeared to be a sketchbook. Blaine started filling his out on the wall beside him.

“Hi, I’m Blaine.”

Kurt looked up from his paper, “Kurt,” he said.

“Have you figured out your power yet?”

“I can call on elements. I don’t really understand it’s importance.” Kurt almost sounded disappointed.

“That sounds cool! So, you can, like, start fires without wood and stuff?” Blaine asked, firing through the simple information on his form until he got to the part where it said ‘if known, please state your power’. Kurt was curious too, apparently.

“Yeah. What’s your’s?”

“I’m not sure.”

“Hey, don’t look too sad. I’m sure you’ll find out eventually! You wouldn’t have gotten the letter otherwise!” Kurt squeezed his shoulder, and they smiled at each other.

Kurt and Blaine had become great friends in a short amount of time. They joined WMHS’s glee club, because even at a school for magical kids, there were regular groups and clubs. Joining the glee club had many perks. The people, the friends, and the music. The girl that Kurt sat beside in the auditorium (Mercedes, she had reminded him) was in the club, and her power was being able to change the shape of a solid object with her voice. They also met Puck and Lauren, who both had the power of getting into people’s minds and making them want to do bad things. They met Brittany, who could change the colour of things. People at the school made fun of her, because they thought it was a useless power, but the girl loved it. They met Rachel and Quinn, who both had the ability to control people’s emotions. Tina could conjure light. Finn and Mike had super speed and strength, and Kurt thought it was kind of silly to explain, because he hadn’t used terms like that since pre-school. Artie was super knowledgeable, it was almost scary. Santana could mess with the temperature and conjure fire. Hers was really frustrating to deal with when she was angry. Sam, like Blaine, had yet to figure out his power.

The more Kurt and Blaine’s relationship grew, the more Kurt started to like Blaine. He started noticing the little things, the way his eyebrows expressed his feelings, the way he bounced on his feet when he got a little closer to knowing his power, the way his tongue moved when he was talking or eating. Kurt spent a lot of time thinking about Blaine’s lips, actually.

Blaine was oblivious. He threw himself into his research, trying to find his power with what little information he had (‘Kurt! I could have the ability to transform into an animal!’), and it was starting to get really annoying. Kurt was behind Blaine 100 percent, but it was starting to take over Blaine’s life. He only stopped working to eat, sleep, and shower, and he was irritable at the best of times.

It didn’t get any better when Blaine finally found out what he was. He was a mind reader. He couldn’t get detailed readings yet, just strong feelings and occasionally, unimportant thoughts. Kurt started to get nervous that his feelings would be outed and not returned. Lucky (or unlucky) for him, Blaine was still oblivious. Kurt didn’t know how he did it, exactly. His feelings for Blaine were the strongest feelings he had.

*

Blaine was ecstatic when he found out what his power was. He told everybody he knew. The glee club even helped him confirm it by sending feelings and thoughts his way one at a time. Blaine could feel it when somebody thought about him. He didn’t know exactly who or where the thought came from, but as long as the person was close to where he was, he could usually latch onto the thought. He never knew who they came from, though. More often then not, he latched onto somebody thinking of him romantically. And they were always incredibly close. At first, he was really excited about these thoughts. They definitely felt male, and it was a great ego boost. He started thinking about all of the possibilities. It had to be somebody in glee, because nobody else knew him well enough. One day, he made a mental list of all the guys in glee that were or definitely could be gay. The list was finally narrowed down to Puck, Sam and Kurt.
Blaine realized that if it were Sam or Puck, he would politely decline. That left him to think about Kurt. Kurt was definitely dateable, and he was very attractive. Kurt knew him better than his own brother. Blaine liked Kurt. Blaine could definitely fall in love with Kurt. Kurt was always there. Kurt was beside him right now, trying to get his attention.

“B, are you okay?”

“Yeah, I’m… I’m fine. What were you saying?”

“I said I wanted to talk to you about something. But not here. Come over tonight, the house will be more or less empty.”

“Okay.”

*

Blaine shouldn’t be left with his imagination. Over the course of the afternoon, he had imagined several different scenarios involving Kurt. Him and Kurt running away together, their wedding, a horrible fight leading to them never talking to each other, a world where they never met, Kurt dying and leaving Blaine nothing but tears.

Yeah, Blaine absolutely liked Kurt. And he was going to say so. Tonight. When he was going over to Kurt’s house. Oh God, Blaine thought.

*

Kurt wouldn’t let Blaine get a word in. From the time he arrived at his house until Blaine was sitting on Kurt’s bed, listening.

“So, I obviously asked you here for a reason. And I’m not quite sure I really want to say that reason, but it’s driving me crazy, and you need to listen and just please not interrupt.” Blaine nodded.

“So recently, you’ve figured out your power, and I’m happy for you and all, but I really need to tell you something that you aren’t picking up on. I’m not sure why you haven’t picked up on it yet, because it’s the only thing I’ve been thinking about for weeks. I figured that since you said you only picked up on important feelings that mine weren’t that important, or strong enough…” Kurt continued pacing and ranting, putting everything from the last few weeks on the line. Blaine listened, but just but just barely. He was busy thinking about all of those thoughts and feelings he heard in glee. Thoughts raced in his mind, blurring and whizzing around like bees. It was Kurt. Kurt’s feelings and Kurt’s thoughts. Blaine sprung up and stopped Kurt in his tracks with an arm around his waist.

Kurt made a surprised noise, and started to say something, but was cut off by a hand pushing his head forward slowly and gently, giving him a second to opt out before Blaine’s lips were on his. Slowly after he collected some of his mind, he started to kiss back, and lost all sense he had regained.

Blaine pulled away before they would be out of breath so he wasn’t panting when he talked. “It was you,” he said simply, “you were the one I heard in the choir room. I mean I had my obvious suspicions but it’s confirmed.”

“You suspected all this time and never told me? Blaine! I lost sleep over this!” Kurt pulled away completely and smacked Blaine on the arm. Blaine just pulled him back in.
