Author's Notes: Title from All Time Low's song "Time Bomb".

For the fourth night in a row, Blaine walked in on his daughter while she was on the phone and doing her relatively new nightly skincare routine. Just a month ago, she would simply do an ice facial and call it a night. Now she had a variety of lotions, creams, and facial masks that would take up to two hours to apply. She would giggle, blush, and have "No, you hang up first!" conversations with this stranger regularly. Blaine stood, leaning on her doorway with a quirked eyebrow. Rachel put her hand over the speaker part of her phone.

"Dad?" She bit her lip nervously as she always did before asking for something.

                 "Yeah?"

"Um, can my friend Kurt come over after Glee club tomorrow? He said that he'll bring over Moulin Rouge."

"Does your friend have a last name?"

                "Kurt Hummel."

"Moulin Rouge, huh? A favorite of mine. Maybe I'll watch it with you guys." Blaine teased, watching Rachel's blush grow.

"Or, you can go out golfing with Uncle Cooper...or get the early bird special at Breadstix...or see a movie. Do something old people do."

"First off, I'm not old, kiddo. Secondly, your Uncle Cooper was banned from the golf course after he went car surfing on a golf cart into the lake...twice."  He paused, shuddering at his brother's idiotic antics. "Lastly, I think I'll stay here while Mr. Hummel is visiting." He walked over to pat her head as she rolled her eyes, but smiled nonetheless. She put the phone back to her ear.

"Kurt? Yeah, my dad said that it's fine. Alright. Yeah, see you tomorrow...no, you hang up first!" She began giggling.

Blaine shook his head as he walked out of his daughter's room, chuckling to himself.

For the age of 32, Blaine didn't think he looked that bad. In fact, he was quite proud of the fact that he managed to stay in shape and maintain his abs. His hair was still as fluffy and curly as it was 16 years ago, and now he didn't even attempt to tame it with gel except for formal events. His eyesight had worsened over the years though, so he was forced to wear thick rimmed, black glasses when he read. He never grew out his beard, but allowed the tiniest bit of scruff every now and then.

Really, he was just terrified of getting wrinkles. When he was younger, he worked outside with his father quite often. Blaine didn't question or complain about it, just accepted that this was his father's delusional remedy to "cure the gay" out of him. Back then, he didn't use sunblock as often as he should have. There were no signs of wrinkles just yet, but he wanted to be extra careful. He remembered the skincare products that Rachel had on her vanity.

He didn't plan on going through her stuff; he did respect her privacy that much. But he couldn't help his wondering eyes from seeing her open notebook on the table, beside a facial cream container.

"Mrs. Hummel" was written daintily in pink ink, but crossed out in one neat stroke. Beside it, in bigger cursive letters, "Mrs. Hummel-Anderson" was scrawled across the paper with tiny hearts framing it.

Blaine chuckled to himself, then picked up the product beside it and began reading the directions for applying it. He was halfway through the warnings of usage when he heard the front door creak open.

"Daddy? I'm home," Rachel yelled, and then let out a giggle. "So is Kurt!"

The two kids began walking to her room and when they reached the entrance, Rachel's eyes widened comically.

"Um, what're you doing?" She eyed her open notebook nervously, hoping Kurt wouldn't see. He didn't. Instead, his gaze was stuck firmly on the man sitting at the edge of Rachel's bed with an organic, acne treatment cream he bought Rachel in his hand. The man didn't look up as he responded to Rachel.

"Do you have any anti-aging stuff? A mask or something? I don't mean to snoop, I just remembered all the new stuff you'd gotten, and I was wondering...." Blaine stopped short as he looked up. There was a pale, lean boy staring back at him with the most sparkling blue-grey eyes. That must be Kurt.

"Oh, where are my manners? Hi, I'm Blaine Anderson, Rachel's dad." He stood hold his hand out to the boy, noting the slight size difference. Blaine wasn't too surprised. He was always on the shorter side.

Hesitantly, the boy shook his hand. He kept his grasp for a second long than what would normally be deemed appropriate, but Blaine shook that thought from his head.

"Kurt Hummel. I'm in Rachel's Glee club." The boy broke the man's gaze and looked to Rachel. At her smile, he suddenly seemed a little looser. "And by ‘Rachel's Glee club', I do mean ‘RACHEL's Glee club'." Rachel blushed and gave a shy smile, casting her eyes downward. Kurt laughed lightly, leaving a confused looking Blaine Anderson.

"What he means is that I get a lot of solos." Blaine could tell that she was trying to keep herself from bragging, but could hear the bit of confidence that his daughter never was without.

Blaine discreetly maneuvered over to put the product back on the vanity and quietly closed the open notebook. He figured that Rachel hadn't discussed her feelings with Kurt just yet.

"Hey, Rach, back to what I was doing in here in the first place," He interrupted the teens as they chattered amongst themselves. "Do you have anything for-"

"She doesn't." Kurt cut him off. It wasn't meant to be rude; Blaine could tell that Kurt surprised himself as well with the small outburst.

"I mean, I got her the same products I use so that we could do a nightly skin care routine together, via phone. It's all just for unclogging pores, moisturizing, exfoliating, acne prevention, etc. Nothing for wrinkles." Kurt rambled, and then looked more closely at Blaine. "I think you'd be fine without though. Just be sure to use lotion with SPF of at least 15 in it so you stay that way."

Blaine's eyebrows rose. He took a second to examine the boy. He had milky, soft looking skin without a flaw to be seen in it. His eyes were big, innocent, and almost childlike in a way. At the same time, the boy had a slight muscle definition to him. He wore a white shirt with sleeves rolled up and a silver vest, which seemed to make the grey flecks in his eyes pop out. It was paired with black skinny jeans that had enough zippers and buttons to make Blaine's head hurt. The boy's hair was coiffed to perfection, with a few stray pieces sticking out at top, but even they were perfectly styled.

A boy that was in Glee Club, used both skin care/hair care products generously, and was fashionable? A tiny rainbow flag registered in Blaine's mind. Still, he didn't want to stereotype, especially if it was someone his daughter was interested in.

"Dad," Rachel snapped him back into reality. She grabbed the DVD out of Kurt's satchel and linked arms with the boy. "Kurt and I are going to go watch Moulin Rouge in the living room."

Blaine nodded and waited for the two to leave.

"Dad?" Rachel waited, pursing her lips. Kurt stood beside her awkwardly.

He blinked, and then realized he was still in his daughter's room.

"Oh. Right, sorry." He earned a small laugh from Kurt, one heartier than the laugh before. It was gentle though, and reminded him of bells. Blaine found it cute.

~*~

Blaine decided to let the kids be and stay in his room for the evening, maybe catch up on some reading. He had the door open for most of the time, but shut it as the teens' laughter and incessant chattering grew louder and louder. It was getting late, about 7 P.M., but Blaine didn't mind having Kurt around. As long as the boy didn't miss curfew, he was fine with him hanging out with Rachel.

It was decidedly time for Blaine's shower. He grabbed a pair of sweatpants and headed to the bathroom.

"Rach, um, where's your bathroom?" Kurt said as they lay on her couch. Well, Kurt was sitting up; Rachel's feet were draped over his lap.

"Just down the hallway by the kitchen, second door on your left." She said without paying attention to neither her words, nor the movie for that matter. She was fixated on drawing small circles on Kurt's leg with her finger.

Kurt coughed awkwardly, hoping Rachel would get the hint and remove her legs. When she didn't, he rolled his eyes in mock frustration and did so for her.

He followed Rachel's directions and found himself in front of what should have been the bathroom door. When he opened it, he quickly realized that he was mistaken. He had accidently come to Blaine's room. Kurt was prepared to shut that door and find the restroom, but paused. On the dresser across the room was a photo of what seemed to be a young Rachel.

After only ever seeing her as the lovely, yet annoying, teenage Rachel she is today, Kurt couldn't control his curiosity. He walked across the room as inconspicuously as he could manage and inspected the photograph.

She couldn't have been more than a year old, but Blaine looked like a kid himself. His hair was bushy with curls going every which way. There were bags under his eyes, but a bright smile on his face and Rachel seemed to be walking towards him in the picture. Oddly, Blaine was in a school uniform. Kurt vaguely recognized it to be the Dalton uniform from a school about an away or so away. He carefully picked up the photo to see if it had a date printed on it.

"So, is this getting back at me for snooping through Rachel's room?" A teasing voice interrupted Kurt's thoughts. He scrambled to put the picture back as Blaine laughed.

"Hey, calm down kid. I'm not gonna hurt you."

Blaine made his way over to where Kurt was standing and picked up the photograph himself. Now, with a closer proximity, Kurt could see what Blaine was wearing. Or rather, what he wasn't wearing. He had on only a pair of grey sweatpants that hung loosely on his hips, giving evidence that he wasn't wearing anything underneath. Blaine had beautiful, olive toned skin that was covered in water droplets, which Kurt's eyes followed, which lead to his happy trail, which Kurt just couldn't pull his eyes from...

"Rachel was taking her first steps here. I had just turned seventeen...it was a pretty special day." Blaine didn't seem to be talking to Kurt and much as just reminiscing to himself.

"Seventeen?" Kurt didn't want to get too personal and come off as rude, but the question came out before he thought about it. Blaine didn't seem offended in the least.

"Seventeen." Blaine nodded. "I love Rachel to bits; she's my world, don't get me wrong on that. Things just...didn't go as expected in high school. I was with a girl and we made a bad choice. Rachel will never be something I regret. I just started the whole parenting thing a little early." Blaine kept calm as he answered, putting the picture back and looked to Kurt.

"Wow...Rachel never told me about that. She told me that she was raised by a single parent, but I assumed that you and your wife just got a divorce..." Kurt bit his tongue before he rambled any further. Blaine chuckled softly

"To be honest, I wasn't in love with my girlfriend at the time. I dated her to make my father happy, and that worked for a while. Of course, when she left me with a hospital bill and a baby, my dad wasn't as fond of her."

"That's rough...how she just left and did that to you. I mean, she was as much a part of the deal as you were. Has she tried to get in contact with you or Rachel since then?" Kurt began to blush faintly as he realized how intrusive it was to ask. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't be so nosy-"Blaine waved his hand as to brush off the apology.

"Really, it's okay, Kurt. To answer your question, no. She sends money my way every once in a while for child support, but I really don't care for her money. Rachel and I have managed well enough on our own." Blaine smiled.

"She's really talented, Rachel. I tease her about getting all those solos, but her voice is truly amazing, and she has more drive than anyone I've ever met. You...you did a really good job with her." Kurt allowed his blue eyes to meet the older man's hazel. Now, it was Blaine's turn to blush.

"Thank you, Kurt." They stayed like that for a bit, just standing there, looking at the different colors of each other's eyes. Kurt's eyes were like a pool of light blue, with flecks of green and a misty grey swirling in them. Blaine's eyes on the other hand were like an explosion of hazel and honey, sparkling in the light, framed by long eyelashes. Blaine took a deep breathe in order to come back to reality and spoke.

"So are you just here to go through all of Rachel's embarrassing baby photos or are you lost?" Blaine smirked as Kurt flushed.

"Oh, um, I was looking for the bathroom...um...w-where is that exactly?" Kurt seemed to have a harder time finding his way back to Earth.

"Just across the hall, other side."

"Uh, ‘kay, thanks..." Kurt gave an awkward smile and left Blaine wondering what the hell that was.

The mental image of Blaine's long, tanned torso, dripping wet wouldn't leave Kurt's mind. The way his honey colored eyes seemed to pierce through his wouldn't leave his thoughts.  Kurt never really felt attracted to older men, but even Blaine's small amount of scruff was kind of a turn on.

After he said his goodbyes to Rachel and got into his Lincoln Navigator, Kurt chided himself. It was inappropriate on so many levels to think of his friend's father in that way. It was weird and would definitely freak Rachel out. Hell, it was freaking his own self out that he could have these thoughts. When he pulled up to his driveway, Kurt checked his phone.

1 NEW TEXT MSG

To: Kurt Hummel

From: Rachel Anderson

Msg: Having a small soiree with the rest of New Directions this Saturday! Be there or be square! ;)

Kurt let out a small giggle at her word choice. She could be annoying and had a bad habit of stealing the spotlight, but she was a good friend. Really, all she wanted was to be accepted and recognized for her talent. He could relate, which was partially why they were such good friends.

1 NEW TEXT MSG

To: Rachel Anderson

From: Kurt Hummel

Msg: See you Saturday then!

He smiled to himself, getting excited for the weekend. He wasn't really close friends with all the members of Glee Club, but they could be fun to be around. Also, it meant that he would see Blaine again. Not that the fact influenced his quick acceptance to the invitation.

Kurt decided not to call Rachel that night, since he just left her house. Instead, though he would deny it, he fell asleep with a smile on his face to the mental image of a shirtless Blaine Anderson.

Blaine Anderson would dream in color that night, colors being the only thing he dreamt about at all. His subconscious state with filled with bright blues, shades of grey, and hints of green.
