"This day is the best place ever, Rachel! The Snow is Beautiful!" Kurt practically screeched. As he has always done and had been so self-conscious of. Most of his body he didn't like. Like how his nose scrunched up when he smiled because it made his face look all wrinkled. He also hated his hair. It had one section in the very front that just didn't sit on his face right.
Kurt and Rachel hadn't always been friends. Their Freshmen and Sophomore year they hated each other only because they had both fought for the lead role in their school's Glee club, that seemed so long gone after graduation only two years ago. "What would make this day even better, Sir Hummel?" Rachel said with a smirk because she knew how much he hated his last name. "I think a strawberry daiquiri would be the finest thing in the world."
*
I haven't been to the "Crubic" before. It looked like a place for younger generation to hang out which is still new to me because back in Lima all there was to do were drugs, throw parties, and have sex. Which none of those I have done. "I have only been kissed once by David Karofsky."
"What about Britney?" Rachel interjected. "That was only a fake relationship because- let's not talk about it OK?" What's taking the waiter so fucking long?"
"Calm down, Kurt. See there's one coming" Kurt wondered to himself why he was so pissed off all of a sudden. Was it because David stole his first real kiss or was it that he was the only one in New York City that was still a virgin? He then remembered the talk his dad gave him two years ago. Something about him mattering and not to throw himself around. As his train of thought started to fade and re-entering reality the waiter was at their table.
"Hello, my name is Blaine Anderson and I will be your server this afternoon." Holy fuck he was hot. From his dune colored Tretorn Otto Canvas shoes, to his skin tight black as night jeans. His deep purple V neck was made for people like him to show off his muscles. All of them. Blaine was so much bigger than Kurt, his build and everything. Although, his hair was pretty curly it went with the shape of his body. But what stuck out the most was his bow-tie. His White as snow bow-tie brought out the green in his hazel eyes and his perfectly straight, white teeth with two of the most beautiful canine teeth he had ever seen. His eyelashes were so long that they seemed to fan his cheeks every time he blinked. Kurt's head was spinning so fast he was starting not to see straight and could feel the bright red embarrassment creep on his cheeks. "I need to use the restroom. Rachel will you order my drink?" He got up so quick his feet weren't fast enough to carry him and he almost tripped. As soon as he reached the bathroom, he checked the stalls he then it hit him. Kurt Hummel was very turned on by a stranger. So he went in to the furthest stall and decided to fix it. He heard the door open. Shit! Someone's coming! As fast as I could I pulled up my pants. The stranger was using the stall right next to mine and before he finished I slipped out and started washing my hands. As I was still washing my hands the stranger stepped out of the stall singing "Blackbird" by The Beatles. It was the most beautiful sound I'd ever heard. It was him! The sexy waiter guy! Breathe, Kurt breathe. You haven't felt this way about anybody before, why now? To him? A stranger?
I didn't know what to say so I just said the first thing that came to my mind.
"You're Blaine, our waiter right?"
"Indeed I am. And you are?
"Kurt, Kurt Hummel. I'm new to New York."
"Did you come here with big kid city dreams?
"Yeah, I go to NYADA. You have quite the voice, ever thought of applying?" His voice cracking again. Shit! He thought in his head.
"Yeah, twice. Guess the big city doesn't need a poor kid like me."
Kurt but his lip and stared at his hands. They looked so soft, and probably were.
"There's always next year, right? I better get back to my roommate Rachel before she sends NYPD out looking for me."
"Alright. I'll see you around? It was nice meeting you Kurt Hummel."
"And as for you Blaine Anderson. I hope our paths cross again."
As Kurt reached the table Rachel looked so pissed Kurt thought he saw smoke come out of her ears.
"Where the hell were you Kurt?"
"Rachel, calm down! I was just-"
"It doesn't matter! I texted you! You should have answered." She started to cool down.
Kurt pulled out his phone and saw three new texts all from Rachel.
"I'm sorry Kurt; I have been under so much stress with the vocal project that Sydney gives us. Rachel would already be a grade ahead of him because the first year Kurt had forgotten all the words to The Boy Next Door at his auditions his senior year.
As Kurt and Rachel sipped their drinks Kurt told Rachel about the conversation in the bathroom and how he felt about Blaine but not what happened prior to Blaine entering the bathroom.
*
Kurt and Rachel sit on the couch drinking warm tea and cuddling watching When Harry met Sally. But Kurt would always get to be Meg Ryan.
"Do you think I'll ever meet Blaine again?"
"Well Kurt, we can make that happen."
"Wait how?"
"We can call the restaurant and ask when Blaine works."
"I don't know Rachel, it just seems-"Before he can finish his sentence Rachel already is looking up the number on her phone.
"What if they don't give the information out?"
"Well we will have to call and try."
*
The next thing I know I'm outside Crubic a half hour before Blaine's break not knowing what the hell I was doing. He's probably straight! Nah, who was I kidding, with those tight of jeans and that low of a shirt there was no way in hell that he was straight. 2:15, I guess I'll go in and take a seat maybe he will see me and "take" my order. As I step inside, the restaurant feels so good on his rosy cheeks and damp runny nose. Hardly anyone is in the restaurant which makes the chances of Blaine being his waiter higher. Kurt sits in the same place that they sat before. Kurt's almost as nervous as he was at the first audition to NYADA. A waiter-not Blaine approaches his table and begins to take his order. Kurt begins to get frustrated. As the lady ruined the chance of talking to Blaine I see Blaine out of the corner of my eye walking towards me. I quickly fix my hair even though I made sure looked as perfect as it could before I left the house.
"I got this one, Sandy" Blaine said with a smile.
My legs went like jelly and I felt butterflies in my stomach.
Blaine sits down and his foot hits my leg.
"So it's Mister Kurt Hummel. Our paths cross again, I see" I roll my eyes at him with a smile on my face but not too big, I don't want him to see my nose crinkle.
"Is it something I said?"
"No of course not I just hate my last name."
"Oh. That's good. It's my break now, mind if we sit and chat?"
"Sure." Kurt feels the heat in his cheeks forming and takes off his scarf.
"So you said you're new to New York. How new?
"I just moved here from Lima Ohio three days ago. How about you, where's your origin from?
"Oh I come from a place called Coos Bay it's in Oregon. It's pretty small but it's right on the beach. It's beautiful in the summer."
"I have never been to a beach before. I hear they are to die for. Will you tell me about them sometime? Especially about the whales."
Blaine looks at Kurt and just smiles.
"OK."
"So why come to live in New York all the way from Oregon?"
"I guess destiny, besides my performing career that crashed and burned. I just couldn't leave. This is home now."
"Hey Blaine don't beat yourself up and grabbed his soft hand that was clutching his peppermint tea. As he predicted.
That was all that was said. It seemed like ages before me and Blaine stopped looking at each other without saying a word.
All of a sudden Blaine's watch beeps and our gaze is torn and Kurt let go of Blaine's hand. That piece lost forever. "Looks like our time together is up."
I can't let him get away again.
"Hey Blaine, Can I get your phone number?" Of course his voice was high again.
Blaine smiles and they switch phones.
"There you go. I get off at five." Blaine winks and walks away. Kurt gets up and leaves. On the way home he thinks about the fantasy he had when Blaine and he had been passionately taking each other's clothes off with their eyes.
Kurt's fantasy had sort of scared him because it went a little like this...
*
"The door. Kurt, breathless.
"You take my breath away." Kurt's words barely audible.
Blaine gets up and practically slams the door with his foot and
Blaine's hands were moving on Kurt's back about to tear through his loose white V neck.
"I want to be this close to you forever, Kurt"
Blaine was kissing Kurt's neck and the sharp line of his jaw, just under his ear, all the way down to his fingertips. When Blaine's soft lips reached just above his pants, slowly his fingers were unbuttoning Kurt's dark jeans.
I was ripped out of my fantasy by someone calling my name. I turned around to Blaine carrying my scarf. Running my way.
"Hey Kurt, you left this at our table." Kurt took notice to the way Blaine said "our table."
"Thanks Blaine, wonder why I felt cold but couldn't put a finger on it."
"It's no problem" God his smile was even more beautiful in the snowy flakes that fell on is nose and in his curly hair.
"Well I better get going before foot traffic starts." Kurt really just needs time to think but couldn't think of anything better to say.
"Oh OK." Blaine seemed genuinely upset.
"But I'll text you later, OK?" Kurt felt bad but he needed some space.
As with that Kurt and Blaine shared a shy smile and Kurt walked away.
*
My head was spinning by the time I walked into the park. This was becoming a new thing for me. But only when I thought of Blaine.
What was I doing, falling head over heels for a guy I'd just met?
With all the people in Central Park he'd never felt so alone.
"I need to call my dad." Kurt's dad always answered although he was the political leader back at home. He picked up his cell and pressed 2 because his dad was on his speed dial.
"Hi dad, it's me."
"Kurt! What's taken you so long to call?" His dads voice always soothed Kurt when he was about to break in two.
"Sorry dad I have been super busy with unpacking." Which as a totally lie because he'd finished the day he arrived.
"It's alright, at least you called. So how's New York?
"It's great besides all the people and not being able to drive anywhere because of all the traffic. But that's not why I called."
"Are you alright Kurt?" Sounding a little panicked but it still soothed Kurt.
"No, dad I'm fine. But I have a boy problem." Kurt's dad, Burt was still not used to helping him with boy problems but he loved his son unconditionally so he was glad to help.
"Sure, son fire away."
" OK so there's this boy named Blaine that I met in a restaurant a few days ago and I'm already crazy about him and we have only talked for a total about 30 minutes. He's like no one I have ever met before."
"You sound really into him Kurt; you've never talked about anyone like this before. Since you just met him, are you sure that you are not just having lustful thoughts.
"Oh trust me dad, lustful thoughts are there. But it's other than that. I feel like him drawn to him. But it also feels like if I don't hold as tight as I can, he'll float away."
"Wow Kurt, you've never talked about any guy like this before, ever. You really care?"
"Yeah dad, I do and I'm not sure what to do." Kurt felt over whelmed with emotions.
"Go for it, all he could say is no, right?"
"Yeah dad. Are we still on for tonight?"
"Of course we are, kid. We will never miss our Skype calls."
" OK dad. Thanks for the help. You really have helped. I have to go. I love you."
"I love you to son." With that Kurt clicked the red end button and checked the time. Although he really hadn't helped he was still glad to heart his dad's voice.
4:30. Had he really been wondering New York for an hour and a half?
He was pretty far from home and his fingers and nose were numb from lack of warmth and he hadn't realized it.
*
By the time he had gotten home it was around 5:15 and he was under Rachel's warming throw blanket- she wasn't home so he didn't bother asking to use it. By then he knew Blaine was off work but he didn't want to seem needy by texting him right as he got off. So he fell asleep watching the Sound of Music and drinking herbal tea.
He woke up to find Rachel on the other side of the couch, sleeping. Even though he was gay he always thought Rachel looked beautiful when she slept; not that it matter if he way gay or not. Maybe it was because it meant she wasn't talking all the time. He looked at the time on his phone and saw it was 6:30. He and his dad planned to Skype at 7 so he was right on time.
So I decided to text Blaine. He would have had plenty of time to eat and shower. But I have no idea what to say to him. I nervously took out my phone and typed... "Hey, This Kurt-as, in Hummel. I told you I would text you later. :)" He almost instantly got a reply
"Well hello, Hummel. Are you busy? I'm not a very good texter so I prefer to talk because I do know how to do that. :)" Judging by the size of the text and the speed he received it really meant he just wanted to hear Kurt's voice.
Kurt quickly replied" Nope, but I have a Skype date with my dad in half an hour." Send.
Kurt answered Blaine's phone call the first time it rang.
"Hello, Blaine Anderson." He felt the smile creep on is cheeks
"And hello to you Kurt- as in Hummel." His voice sounded a lot deeper on the phone and Kurt was turned on just by Blaine talking to him.
"How was work today?" Kurt talked to Blaine as if he knew him forever. Ignoring the feeling he was getting starting at the bottom of his stomach.
"It was better than most days, you could say."
"And why is that?"
"Well this guy I met yesterday came back again today and he is super-hot and totally out of my ledge." It took Kurt a minute to realize he was legitimately talking about him. Kurt, hot? He must be mistaken, the annoying Pink monster turned into a light red on his face and he was smiling.
"What makes him so out of your ledge?"
"Well I don't know really but he just doesn't look like someone who would date a boy like me."
Oh my, was Blaine talking about wanting to date him? His head slowly started to spin...again.
"Well you never know until you ask him out on a date. The worst he would say would be no, right?
"Yeah. But I hope he wouldn't say no though. Well I have a confession to make..."
"Yes?" Kurt already knew what was coming and he had butterflies in his stomach.
"The person I wanted to ask out was you. But I have never officially asked anyone out before." Kurt could hear the nervousness in his voice.
"Well Blaine Anderson, he would think you are very sweet and I think he would love going on a date with you. He would be foolish not to."
"Really?" Blaine's voice cracked just like Kurt's has, it was a like a small chip in his armor.
"So Kurt? That's a yes?"
"Of course it's a yes; you're too cute to say no. But what did you have in mind? I'm a sucker for romantic dates."
"It's a surprise! But I think you'll love it."
With that they set a date for Friday night after Blaine got off work. Only two days away. That was two days to long for Kurt.
He was just in time to Skype his dad and he told him everything that Blaine had said and that he'd taken his advice.
*
Before he knew it, it was Friday afternoon.
Only 2 and half more hours until Blaine picks me up! Or rather came to his house because Blaine and he wouldn't even dare trying to drive in New York on a Friday afternoon. Kurt was already dressed in his favorite winter outfit that consisted of white moon boots, black skinny jeans, a red double breasted pea-coat and a Lover's white and black scarf. He didn't like gloves because it made his hands itch.
I kept checking the time because I was so anxious to go on a date with the hottest guy in New York who thought I was out of his ledge. Calm down, you're not even with him and you're getting excited. Just as he was about to start fantasizing again be felt his phone buzz and it was Blaine.
"Step outside; I'm here for you ;)"
Kurt was up so fast and across the room in what felt like less than a second.
As I opened the door I stepped side walk but I didn't see Blaine at all. I only saw the snowy white flurries on the ground and slowly falling from the white sky. I looked up for a second to look at the snow and just as I did I felt a tap on the back of my shoulder so I turned around and saw Blaine on one knee holding a single white rose.
My breath caught in my throat because I have never gotten a flower from a boy I have liked before besides all the flowers I've gotten at shows I've done before but not a boy he truly liked.
"I hope you like it, I didn't know what to get I just thought this was simplest." It was at its peak of beauty, fully bloomed and pure white.
"No, it's beautiful Blaine. I haven't seen a flower more beautiful in my life."
"Really?" Blaine's smile was so devishly beautiful that it made Kurt's knees go weak.
"Shall we go?" Blaine said as he got off the ground. Kurt realized Blaine was even more beautiful in the light, which he'd never seen. His teeth whiter His eyes were even darker green then inside the building. Like moss on a forest tree.
"We shall." Kurt grabbed Blaine's bicep with one hand and smelling the flower with the other. God they were perfect for each other.
"So where are we going?"
"I'm not telling!"
"We're almost there." Blaine says about 10 minutes later after long chat about nothing important but they both kept catching each other gazing at each other's lips.
"Ok, Kurt close your eyes and I'll give you a piggy back ride the rest of the way." Kurt obeyed smiling. He jumped on Blaine's back and closed his eyes shut tight. Blaine started running and laughing. So Kurt started screaming a laughing and joyful scream taking in the feeling of Blaine under him. His laugh. To no human Knowledge was there word to describe his laugh. It was beautiful and intoxicating. He wanted to bottle it up and save it forever.
Blaine stopped running and walked a leisurely walk, Kurt still on his back.
"Are your eyes still closed?" Blaine tilting his head up.
"Yes, I promise." Kurt wanted so bad to open is eyes and see where he was. But the surprise really meant something to Blaine so he kept them shut. As Blaine looked down Kurt rested his chin on the top of Blaine's head.
His hair smelled like raspberries, god it smelled good, delicious in fact, like he could lick it up. Raspberries? Who the hell was turned on by raspberries? Apparently, he was.
"Ok were here. Open your eyes." Kurt's eyes flipped open and all he could say was "oh no."
Blaine quickly set him down and turned to him in the same motion with a look of concern on his face
"Kurt, what's wrong?"
"I don't know how to ice skate." Blaine's concern faded into a smile.
"Hey babe, it's ok, I'll catch you." Kurt went weak in the knees and his was spinning again even though he knew Kurt was just flirting with him.
"Ok, this shall be fun." Kurt and Blaine They had gotten a locker for their phones so they wouldn't be interrupted and for the flower Kurt had gotten. They walked into the rink, Kurt holding Blaine's arm again so he wouldn't crash to the ground.
"So I thought we could get some hot chocolate later?"
"That sounds amazing." Kurt was so content like he'd known Blaine forever.
"Ok, are you ready to skate on your own?"
"Not really, I'm not very good with sporty things."
Blaine skated two feet in front of him and grabbed his hands, leading him down the edge of the rink. Everything was going just fine until Kurt randomly started falling but before his butt hit the ground, Blaine grabbed him and held him close. Blaine's hands were locked together under Kurt his butt. Their noses almost touching. Blaine leaned forward to whisper in Kurt's ear
"Told you I'd catch you." His voice was deeper, just like it had been on the phone.
"Thanks, let's go again." Blaine let go and grabbed Kurt's hands again this time he went a little faster than the last time. Kurt was catching on pretty fast and they were hand-in-hand skating slowly. They seemed to talk for ever about everything, Kurt even told Blaine about his life.
"So you have never been kissed?"
"Well yes but it was forced by a bully that I thought hated me and he just turned out to be gay himself. I didn't even see it coming."
"So it was a sneak attack?" Blaine lost footing and took Kurt with him landing in Blaine's lap. They looked at each other for a while Blaine looked Kurt in the eyes and very slowly leaned in ready to steal another kiss. Kurt had butterflies in his stomach again licking his lips in anticipation but Blaine must have saw the nervousness and asked
"Shall we get hot chocolate, I'm freezing." They got up and headed to Friddle's, Blaine's favorite coffee shop around.
As they sipped the hot chocolate and shared a chocolate muffin; it was Blaine's turn to talk more about his life. So he did.
The night was drawing for to a close, they held hands on the way home. Kurt never felt like his life was so right, he felt protected near Blaine. No bully or anyone would ever touch him again. Blaine walked Kurt to the steps his apartment. They looked each other in the eyes.
"Ku-urt, Um. Can I Umm. Kiss you?"
"Blaine, you asked me?"
"Well yeah, you said technically you haven't been kissed before and I didn't want to ruin that for you."
Oh God Blaine, please do. You're the guy I wanted to share my first kiss with my whole life."
With that their lips crashed together, almost guilt that they both wanted it so bad.
"Blaine, you take my breath away."
"God Kurt, being your first time, you're flawless." Blaine was so sincere.
Blaine and Kurt were still passionately kissing and Kurt had enough, he knew Blaine was the one.
"Will you come inside?"
"Are-are you sure?" Blaine's was reluctant but he was too turned on to focus.
"Yes Blaine, I want you to come inside of my apartment, Rachel's not home. She's at school really late tonight to practice for her tests and it's only eight o'clock. Please."
The way Kurt pleaded Blaine couldn't say no. Kurt grabbed his hand and walked inside. Kurt took off his jacket and threw it one the floor near the door so all that he was wearing was a cream colored Long John Thermal shirt under his pea-coat. They both took off each other's scarfs and shoes. Blaine was pushed on the couch with so much force he had the wind knocked out of him but still managed to kiss him. Kurt was sitting on Blaine's hips where they sort of stuck out, hands in his hair. Blaine's hands on the other hand were feeling his arms near his face; anything he could touch to make sure Kurt was real. Blaine then slid his hands up the black of Kurt's shirt to feel his warm soft body. Kurt's breath caught in his throat when he realized Blaine was crazy for him as much as he was for Blaine.
Kurt started to take of Blaine's jacket. After that struggle, he went for his shirt. Kurt couldn't keep his eyes off Blaine's stomach. He kissed his nose, his eyes, and his lips but he always came back to the birthmark on the bottom of his ribcage. That's all that was happening, just kissing on the couch until Blaine went to take of Kurt's shirt. Kurt Practically threw his shirt off and on to the floor next to the couch. Skin on skin, Kurt never felt anything better in his life. His heart beating fast just laying on Blaine's chest. Blaine smelled like a mixture of raspberries and coconut. Kurt's hands moved slowly down to Blaine's jeans, starting to unbutton them, Blaine caught his hands with his fingertips.
"Blaine, I'm so sorry, I am just-"
"No. Are you sure this is what you want?"
"I've never wanted anything more in my life. With you I don't feel self-conscious." Something he just realized when it came out of his mouth.
"You make me want to be who I am and not be afraid of it."
"Oh God Kurt." Blaine unbuttoning Kurt's pant because even though Kurt had moved down he could still reach his buttons. Breaking half of the button in the process and laughing, trying to get each other naked at the same time. Kurt got up and grabbed Blaine's hand and led him to his room.
"I've never shared my bed with anyone."
"We could do it on the floor." Blaine had sort of a teasing look on his face
"Fuck no; my first time will be done my way." Blaine found it sexy how assertive Kurt was.
Kurt and Blaine didn't bother being quiet, they screamed and yelled with joy and satisfaction.
Kurt falls on Blaine's chest, both still trying to catch their breath.
"Blaine, how many times have you had sex like that before?"
"Zero, because I have never had sex before."
"Really? Because you're really damn good at it."
"Talk about yourself. Whoa."
"Sleep sounds really good." Blaine's voice was making Kurt even
More tired because of how deep Blaine's voice was when he was
tired.
"Hold on Let me text Rachel."
"Ok she said she was at her best friend's house so she would just stay there."
Blaine was the first one to fall asleep; he looked so peaceful and beautiful.
"This has been the best week ever. Why is Blaine into me when he can have anyone in the entire world?"
Whatever we are, a couple, one night stand, friends with benefits I didn't care at that moment, all I cared about was being wrapped up in Blaine's arms and drifting to a deep sleep.
Whatever we were we can talk about it in the morning.
Epilogue:
"So what do you think dad? Isn't he amazing?" Kurt said to his father over Skype sitting in Blaine's lap giving him a peck on the cheek.
"Yeah, Mr. Hummel, your son means the world to me and I have no idea how I lived without him, how lonely I was. I fell in love with Kurt the moment I laid eyes on him."
"I really what you're doing to my son, Blaine. He's a lot happier now and talks more. You really have my blessings. I hope you'll be a more permanent part of our family someday."
"Thanks, Mr. Hummel and... Kurt?"
"Yeah babe."
"Remember when you told me you hated your last name?"
"Yeah and still do by the way."
"Well maybe one day would you let me change it?"
"I want nothing more in the world to be your prince."
Comments
This was really good. I love it when they basically fall for each other the first time that they meet. The date was so awesome and it was so much fun to see Blaine take the time to make sure everything was perfect for Kurt even their kiss.
