This dark place resembles a small black ball. It’s in your body from the first breath you take. It lives deep inside your stomach and feeds off of your selfish actions; the small and the big ones. It swirls around inside your body with the intent to make sure you get what you so deeply desire. But seen as you are a mere child, your great desires aren’t all that unobtainable.
So when an eight year old steals a bubblegum at the local store, it’s the darkness leading the child. When the little boy goes against his parents’ wishes and runs away at the mall, it’s the darkness making him. When the four year old pushes her sister down the stairs, it’s the darkness that makes her point to the older brother and say ‘he did it!’ It is also that darkness which makes the older brother hit the younger sister afterwards.
That is not to say that you can’t be held responsible for your own actions. You can, and you will be. Partly because almost nobody has knowledge about this darkness, and partly because it is a part of you. And it will always be a part of you.
As you grow older though, your darkness grows weaker. It melts together with your soul and becomes a part of your being. Every human has selfish thoughts, and every human lives out some of its desires at one point or another in its life; that’s why the darkness grows weaker, because it gets enough life to be there, but not to grow.
It is said that murderers and other criminals feel so strongly connected to this darkness, that they keep the selfish desires to such a high level that their dark place grows and soon fills their entire being with darkness. They act too much on their own desires. There are also those who suffer from insanity because their minds can’t contain the different thoughts and vibes from the darkness. They can’t figure out which desires to act on and which to hide away.
These people have an error in their soul; they’ve let the darkness way too close to their heart and it has taken control of them. Their soul has been painted black, and it won’t change back.
But just like there are people who’ve let the darkness spread in their body, there’s also people who’ve let the light spread. These humans are even rarer than the ones darkened by their inner shadow. People, whose light is so strong it outshines the darkness, are called pure.
Some say that the saying ‘pure hearted’ comes from this, even though most people don’t believe in it any longer. There shouldn’t be anyone in this world who’re pure all the way through their mind. But there is. It’s those people, who’ve got selfish thoughts, but who puts those second. It’s people who let themselves be controlled by positive thoughts.
The darkness in the human’s body will automatically be attracted to a pure hearted person. Just like light can’t be without darkness; like good can’t be without evil, the darkness can’t live without the good in people. It needs something to live off; something which place it can take.
A normal human being would feel attracted to the person, but wouldn’t think more of it than that. Looks have become such an important thing in society that most people would just think that’s what’s drawing them to this person. Really though, it’s the darkness moving around in the soul, because it wants this light. The more light, the darker the shadows will be.
If a person with the shadow spread in their body meets a pure hearted, the darkness will automatically take over; the normal human has been too connected to the darkness for it to do anything, but the human, whose darkness has spread, is too weak to put up a fight against it. The human mind is weak and easy to break - and why would you even fight yourself anyway?
There’s a thin line between feeding and over feeding your darkness. If you’re not careful, that line could be crossed.
But what if you never did act on your selfish desires? What if you never did anything wrong? What if you always did as you’re told? How would your darkness melt together with your soul? Where would that dark circle of emotion disappear to? How would it get outlet to your selfish thoughts? How would you make it shrink away? How would you keep it from taking over your mind - and body?
The answer is you wouldn’t. Because you couldn’t.
