Please forgive all grammatical errors and spelling mistakes, I wrote this on my phone before posting, and Im not a big fan of proof reading- meh. Enjoy :)
It had been seven months since a baby named Elijah came into Kurt and Blaines lives. He was a bubbly and happy baby, who would giggle and gurgle every time his fathers would do something to make him laugh, or introduce him to their friends and family members. After three months of being off work to take care of Elijah, Kurt and Blaine had to go back to work.
They would usually go to work on alternate days, or keep him with Britney and Santana, who were more than willing to look after him. It was mostly Britney, who was surprisingly very good with babies, since she had a late shift at work, and was free most of the morning and afternoon. Today, however, Kurt was home with Elijah. After having fed, cleaned and changed Elijah, he sat down comfortably on the couch and took out his sketch book. His sketch book was full of designs and well- sketches. He had not shown these to anybody, not even Blaine. It was his dream to one day, and hopefully soon, start his own business with his own designs and creations. He could vision people coming to the opening of his store, fighting over items in a certain size. But now he and Blaine had a baby to look after, and it would be just plain impossible to open a store at this time.
Even though Blaine was going to almost be done with his second, and hopefully, just a successful, album, Kurt knew he had been working on it for some time now, and his fans had been anxiously waiting. Plus Kurt had gotten to live his Broadway dream, not once, but twice now. And now that he was working on costumes for Broadway, he couldnt help but wonder if now he had to set his eyes on a new dream. Kurt was young, he was ambitious, so why not? He would definitely have to talk to Blaine about it later. Speaking of Blaine, his birthday was coming up very soon, just a week away, and Kurt still had no idea what to get his husband, or what to do for his birthday.
It was impossible to think of what to do for Blaine, because well, if he was perfectly honest, Blaine was a literal five year old when it came to birthdays. His eyes would go huge over the cake, and he would insist on getting a heros cake every time. And not to mention that one time he tried to convince Kurt to have his birthday at Chucky Cheeses. Or that other time he cried because he couldnt get a bouncing castle. Kurt laughed softly thinking of his adorable husbands antics. Elijah gurgled slightly at his Papas laughter, which brought Kurts attention to him. "Well hello there, little boy," Kurt said happily to his son, playfully tickling him under his foot.
Elijah giggled loudly, talking in his baby tone to his father. "What do you want to do for Daddys birthday hmm, E? What shall we do?" Kurt asked the baby boy. "Do you miss him? Do you miss Daddy? Well I miss him too, E. But guess what, he should be home soon," Kurt continued to talk to the baby, tickling him, making him smile and laugh happily as the baby tried responding in his own language. "You look just like him, E, you know that? Yeah thats right, you look just like Daddy," Kurt laughed with Elijah, playing with him happily, kissing him everywhere his son would let him before he would use his hands and place them on Kurts face. Kurt kissed his tiny hands as well before he smelt something. "Hmm, I wonder what that smell is huh?" Kurt said suspiciously, checking Elijahs diaper, seeing his son had indeed given him a surprise.
He looked back at his son who was giggling at the look on his fathers face. "You find this funny, do you?" Elijah just giggled more. "Im gonna tease you about this when youre older," Kurt said carrying the boy upstairs and into his bedroom so he could change him. He hummed softly as he changed at which Elijah slowly drifted off to sleep. Kurt carefully put him into his crib, grabbed the baby monitor and headed towards the kitchen so he could make dinner.
Somewhere during the midst of his cooking he felt arms wrap around his waist and soft lips peck him behind his ear. He leaned back into his husbands touch. "I didnt hear you come in," Kurt said as Blaine rested his chin on Kurts shoulder.
"Well, maybe you shouldnt think so much while you cook, I could have been a serial killer you know," Blaine said laughing slightly, kissing Kurts neck.
"Blaine-"Kurt smacked his husbands arm rather harshly. "Dont say things like that, we have a baby in the house now!"
Blaine just hummed in response. "Im sorry, Im sorry. It was a joke, you know that. Anyways, how was your day?" Blaine recoiled his arms from Kurts waist and sat down on the counter next to where Kurt was cooking.
"Elijah and I went grocery shopping. He was surprisingly quiet all day, but I think he missed you," Kurt told him, stirring the contents in the pot on the stove.
"I missed him too. Did someone else miss me?" Blaine asked coyly, grabbing hold of Kurts hands. Kurt looked up into his favourite pair of hazel green eyes and smiled, coming to stand in front of Blaine as he put his hands over his shoulders.
"Well I have a good guess that someone did."
"Oh?" Blaine asked amusingly.
"Mmhmm," Kurt replied. "And I have a feeling that his initials are KAH."
"KAH, you say? Is he by any chance, Kurt Anderson-Hummel?" Blaine lowered his voice seductively.
"Mmm, you know it," Kurt whispered back. He leaned up to kiss Blaine from where he was still perched on the counter. Blaine wrapped his legs around Kurt as he deepened the kiss, letting his tongue delicately slip into his husbands mouth. Kurt, without looking, placed the lid of the pot on the stove onto it, and put the spoon in his hand on the counter where his husband sat, and carefully lifted his husband up from the counter.
Blaine held Kurt tighter around his neck, but continued kissing him all the same, letting his husband carry him to the couch. It was in this position, with Kurt on top of Blaine, his hands freely roaming his body, and Blaines own hands attached firmly to Kurts butt, their lips still very much intact and tongues active, that Elijah began to cry, calling for one of his fathers attention. Blaine laughed at Kurts expression and kissed him one more time before they both got up.
"Ill get him," Blaine said still watching Kurt with an amused expression. Blaine walked into the nursery, looking at his son who was wide awake and sitting upright, something he had begun to do recently, and looking at his father with big eyes. "Hey buddy," Blaine said walking over to his son and picking him up, giving him a big kiss on his cheek. "I missed you, E, did you miss me?" At this, Elijah gurgled in his language. "Well Ill take that as a yes then mister," Blaine kissed him again and again as his son started to giggle. "Alright now why were we crying hmm? You know what you just interrupted little man? I think you did. I think you knew didnt you?"
He continued to kiss his son and tickle him as he spoke, checking his diaper to see if he needed changing. It didnt, so Blaine figured he was hungry and grabbed his bottle from the table next to the dresser. "Alright, you hungry, E? I think my little man is hungry, isnt he? Come on lets have some milk, what do you say little man?" Blaine settled in the comfy rocking chair that Kurt had placed in Elijahs room and began to feed his son, who started to suck hungrily on the bottles nipple. "Wow we were really hungry then huh?" Blaine smiled. He began to hum soft lullabies for Elijah, who seemed to always enjoy it when his fathers would do that. Slowly Elijah finished his bottle and Blaine settled him onto his shoulder so he could burp. "Sleepy now sweetheart? Yeah I can see that," Blaine laughed softly at his sons adorable attempts to stay awake.
He kissed the top of his head and made his way back to the crib. "I love you, Elijah," he said before gently placing him into his crib. He turned around to see Kurt standing in the doorway. "Jesus Kurt, you almost gave me a heart attack," Blaine whispered as to try to not wake up Elijah. He laughed as he exited the bedroom and joined Kurt outside.
"I just came upstairs to tell you that dinner was ready. It didnt feel right to yell from downstairs," Kurt smiled.
"Well, thank you for your effort," Blaine laughed softly, giving Kurt a kiss as they made their way downstairs.
"Youre so good with him," Kurt commented casually as they sat on the dinner table.
"Yeah well, I learnt from you, I mean Im quite sure without you, I wouldnt even hold him properly," Blaine chuckled. "The way you taught me to, with those plastic dolls," he elaborated.
"I just- Im so thankful to whatever force is up there that you are the guy I get to raise our kids with," Kurt told him, holding his hand on the table.
"Well I am thankful to that force as well. I love you," he said, lifting his and Kurts intertwined hand and giving it a kiss.
Kurt smiled, "I love you too, B." And he got up to give him a kiss, casually deepening it, and forgetting about the dinner that was laid on the table, but not getting even close to doing anything as their son began to cry again, reminding them that he was still there.
God I need a drink. Oh hey, I can get one now, and it wouldnt even be illegal, thought Blaine as he sat behind the sound proof glass in the recording studio of Red Bedroom Records. The band,Searching For Mercy was recording, and they were having a very... off day. In other words, they were sucking... so bad.
Not only was their pitch off, but their drummer was clearly stoned, half the band hung over, and from the looks of the giant hickey on the guitarists neck, they had a very busy night. They also had the audacity to put on Blaine, and blame him for having bad ears and not being able to hear just how well they were rocking. So Blaine was pissed.
It was his fucking birthday for gods sake. Werent people supposed to be happy on their birthday? And be served breakfast in bed by their husband? Or at least kissed by their husband? And was it fair that they had to change the most smelliest baby diaper that their son had ever, ever had? He had a good guess that birthdays didnt go that way.
Kurt didnt so much as even regard his birthday, and Blaine knew how bad Kurt was at keeping secrets, so even if he was pretending not to remember Blaines birthday- wouldnt he have been able to tell?
But no, Kurt acted as though it was just another day at work, come home, eat, attempt to be intimate, play with Elijah, feed Elijah, change Elijah, sing to Elijah, sleep. It wasnt as though he hated his day to day life, in fact, he loved it. He loved his job- sometimes, when he actually got to record something- and he loved his family. What he hated, however, was the fact that HIS HUSBAND FORGOT HIS BIRTHDAY!
Even his goddamn parents remembered to call him, and his busy fucking brother in god knows what part of America trying to be an actor. Even Burt called him and wished him. Just thinking of the people who wished him and called him made his phone begin to buzz. He told the band to take ten and excused himself to answer his phone.
"Hello?" he said, not even bothering to check caller ID.
"Hey frizz balls," said a casual voice. Santana. Santana remembered to call him.
"Good morning to you too, Santana," Blaine said to her, biting on his tongue ever so slightly.
"Geez Hobbit, and here I was being a good fellow gay and calling you to wish you a Happy Birthday. What happened? Was the blow job that Lady Hummel gave you in the morning not satisfying enough for the birthday boy?"
"You gonna keep mocking me or can I hang up on you now?" Blaine asked not even caring how unpleasant he sounded.
"Seriously whats got your balls in a net Im actually worried. I really did just want to wish you a happy birthday, Blaine, but you know me. I cant stand wasting a second being a bitch to someone. Its who I am. Can you tell me whats wrong now?" Santana asked him. She actually sounded worried and Blaine debated weather or not he should tell her what got his balls in a net.
"Its just- I- Kurt... he, well, he- he forgot my birthday. And well, you know how he cant lie and I know he actually has no idea, and I dont know. Did he drop of Elijah?"
"Yeah Porcelain dropped of baby Rouge about two hours ago. And I guess youre right, the coiffed gay bag cant lie for shit. He didnt even mention anything, like morning sex or shower sex, or how surprised you were when he did whatever new thing he does to you on your birthdays. He tells us about those, by the way, but hey, maybe Hummels just a really good actor now, I mean he was on Broadgay twice, right? So maybe hes just got something really cute planned for tonight, just the two of you? Who knows," Santana told him.
Blaine smiled a little, appreciating how Santana was trying to make him feel better, even if it was a comfort filled with insults, mostly about his husband. "Yeah I guess youre right," he said a little cheerfully, now a little happier at the thought. "Thanks, by the way. Thank you for calling. And for comforting me, really appreciate it."
"Yeah, yeah, Anderson, dont get all senti with me. Also if you wanna hit the booze tonight, let me know, I know a great gay bar, and it just so happens to be mens night," she said happily. He could practically see her winking through the phone. He also knew she could feel him rolling his eyes.
"Good bye, Santana, and thanks again. Ill see you later," he hung up, still in good spirits, now holding onto the hope that she had given him that Kurt had something planned for him after all. He never missed Blaines birthdays. Never.
Blaine realized his phone was buzzing in his hand again, this time checking caller ID, and seeing Sams name, a huge grin spread on his face. "Hey buddy!" Sam exclaimed as soon as Blaine answered.
"Hey Sam," Blaine said still grinning.
"Happy Birthday bro! I would ask you about the blow job Kurt always gives you on your birthday, but I realized I didnt really wanna hear about it, so I wont ask you about it ... shit... well. Anyways! I have to run, apparently Ive got a meeting with some modeling agency and Mercedes wants me to look presentable or something. So Im gonna go now, but hey! You have a kick-ass one, you hear me? Im sorry I cant celebrate with you, but now we can get drunk together! How cool is that?"
"Super cool, Sam," Blaine said chuckling. "Thanks for calling man, and I will."
"Yeah. Wait.. you will what?"
"... have a kick-ass birthday? Like you just told me to?" Blaine said to him gently, because he was used to this.
"Oh! Right. Okay. Yeah, do that, love you bro!" Sam said cheerfully.
"Love you too, Sam, see you," Blaine said shaking his head as he ended the call, seeing that as soon as he ended the call with Sam, Rachel was calling right after. He sighed and answered and repeated that for the next hour.

He tried to pass the rest of the day as calmly as he could, though anybody would have been able to tell that today just wasnt his day- even though technically, it was.
Since the morning, he hadnt had a single cup of coffee, not even before he left for work because he realized he had slept in, and would be late. He had a surprising amount of work to do around the bar and studio. He didnt think it was possible to be able to do so much paper work for one bar and studio maintenance. By the time he could finally go home, he was so perpetually exhausted, but part of him was still excited because he would get to see Kurt and maybe a surprise for him? He didnt know. And his brain was still debating weather or not it could believe that.
And it kept debating and over thinking the whole subway ride home.
He tried to mute out the thoughts with music, only coming to find that his headphones had somehow broken. "How the fuck," he murmured to himself taking out the head phone wires from his pocket which was in two literal pieces. He gave up on that entirely and just decided to gaze out the window- which was no help- seeing as they were underground and all he saw was darkness.
Blaine pushed through the crowd at the subway station, not caring who he bumped into, and who he pushed. He just wanted to get home. It wasnt even as though it was a nice day out. It was fucking cloudy and Blaine hated it when it was cloudy. He fucking hated it. Eventually he realized he had to get on a bus and needed a ticket for that- which he of course did not have. He mentally cursed the existence of every living thing around him at the moment and grudgingly got a ticket for the bus. Why couldnt today have just been a little bit simpler for him?
There was no place to sit on the bus— so Blaine was forced to stand, that too, next to a man who decided he looked good without a shirt on. And by God that man stunk to high heavens. Eventually he got home by 8:30, which would have been earlier, had the bus not stopped five times before, at places where it wasnt even supposed to, and he hadnt had to walk all the way home from the buss last stop.
As he walked inside the house, he tried to notice anything out of the ordinary, but failed. Everything was the same as it always was. "Kurt?" he called putting up his coat on the hook. "Im home!" he said loudly in hooe his husband heard him.
"Hey," Kurt said with a smile walking down the stairs. He gave Blaine a kiss on the cheek and walked towards the kitchen.
Blaine watched after Kurt in shock. Kurt really didnt know or have anything planned did he? "Dont you want dinner?" Kurt asked him jokingly poking his head out from the door frame so he could look at Blaine.
Flabbergasted as he was he nodded numbly and walked to the kitchen. Again, nothing out of the ordinary, Kurt took out Blaines dinner from the microwave and set it before him. "Sorry I ate with Elijah. Hes sleeping now, in case you were wondering," Kurt said flopping into the seat besides Blaine.
Blaine looked down at his plate, at the fucking spinach and cornflour with Rice. He fucking hated spinach. He looked up at Kurt, looking for some hint that this was all just some stupid fucking joke, and they would go out ir have birthday sex right now. Instead he found nothing. "Blaine? Whats wrong? Why are you looking at me like that?" Kurt asked his tone getting scared.
"Are you fucking kidding me?" Blaine asked, not yelling, nut still super pissed.
"What?" Kurt asked getting shocked at Blaines tone. "Blaine, did I do something wrong?"
Blaine stood up, not facing Kurt, but he knew Kurt had stood up behind him as well. "Are you serious right now?" he asked him, finally turning around and facing Kurt. Kurt didnt respond, so he continued. "Do you even know what day it is, Kurt?" Blaine asked him, hurt obvious in his voice.
"Of course, its Febuary 6th," Kurt said dumbly until he looked into Blaines eyes and the realization hit him like a brick wall. His mind took him back to a time where he looked into Blaines eyes, with the same sadness and hurt. They were in high school, and Blaine had just angrily slammed his locked shut, not noticing Kurt behind him. He opened his mouth to speak, to explain, but Kurt cut him off, looking at him with the same upset eyes, and frown, "they forgot again, didnt they?" Kurt asked him softly.
Blaine didnt meet his eyes, and looked to the ground nodding his head pathetically. Kurt pulled him in for a hug. When they were at Dalton the previous year, Blaine had confessed that his parents had stopped calling and so much as remembering his birthday since he turned 9. After that, he didnt get so much as a nod in his direction as he left for school in the morning, or even a gift card like Cooper always got. Kurt felt bad for his friend at the time of his confession, and did all he could at that time to distract him. A year later, Kurt had the same idea, but a different form of distraction in mind. He knew Blaine didnt care much about his parents not remembering his birthday, but it still hurt him.
"I got you something," Kurt said pulling away from Blaine and reaching into his bag.
"Kurt, I told you, you didnt have to get me anything," Blaine argued.
Kurt just smiled and met Blaines eyes for a brief second. "Sush would you? Im your boyfriend. Weve been together almost a year do I ever not do anything you tell me not to do?"
Blaine smiled too and shook his head. Kurt pulled out a single red rose with a ribbon attached around the end which held a letter enclosed in an envelope. He pulled out another object, which was a box, wrapped in Harry Potter wrapping paper that Kurt knew would make Blaine happy. It contained a frame which had a picture of the couple the night they first made love, when Blaine had insisted they capture the moment before it had even started. The box also contained a bronze locket, that opened up to the same picture of the two of them, and another of them at Dalton.
"Dont open that here," Kurt told him softly, handing him the box and its contents to his boyfriend. Blaine nodded knowingly and took a sniff of the rose and smiled.
"Thank you," he whispered, looking straight into Kurts eyes.
"Always, Blaine."
Later that night, after paying Finn twenty dollars to sleepover at Pucks that night (Burt and Carole had flown to DC for the week) Kurt made love to Blaine, not letting him think once about his parents and the love they didnt deserve from him. Before they both fell asleep, Kurt told Blaine the same thing he wrote on his card, the same thing he told him every year after that; "Always expect me to remember your birthday, always expect me to do something for you. Okay?"
"Okay," Blaine replied, glad that every year since then, Kurt had kept his promise.
Until now.
Kurt snapped back to reality and looked at Blaine, guilt building up and burning inside his body. "Oh."
Blaine nodded and smiled at the floor sadly. "I guess its okay you didnt do something this year, my parents actually called me this year. And Cooper too," Blaine said dryly meeting Kurts eyes.
"Blaine, I-" Kurt started.
"Im going out," Blaine decided, cutting off Kurt and turning and walking out of the kitchen. He was already in the process of putting on his coat when Kurt had followed him out of the kitchen.
"Wh-where are you going?" Kurt asked worriedly, catching up to him.
"Its my 21st birthday, Kurt, where do you think?" Blaine asked him sarcastically, not really meaning to make his voice sound so pissed. He just needed alcohol to get him through the remainder of his crap day.
"Right- right of course... I just thought..."
"Thought what, Kurt?" Blaine stopped and stared at Kurt. He knew they had promised, to come home a little earlier, drink a little less once Elijah was born. Now he was starting to wonder if maybe they had a baby too soon. No, Blaine shook his head and turned away from Kurt. Elijah and Kurt were the two best things that evvr happened to him. He had to shake away these stupid thoughts. "Ill be back soon," Blaine said over his shoulder before slamming the door shut behind him, leaving Kurt feeling worse than ever.

"Hello?" Santana said as Blaine called her whilst sitting in the taxi he had hailed.
"Does that hitting the booze offer still stand?" Blaine asked her. She sensed his tone. Damn it, Lady Hummel, she thought to herself.
"Yeah, yeah it still does, frizz," she told him.
Blaine knew she could probably tell what had happened and nodded. Realizing he couldnt see her, he said, "Im picking you up in ten," then shut the phone, focusing on the increasing number of buildings outside the cars window as the taxi drove further into the depths of New York, leaving his suburban house behind.
Blaine knew he always lost control when he drank, but tonight he didnt care, he drank and he drank, and allowed himself to be pulled into the crowd of other drunk dancers grinding against him.
"Hummel, I hope you know what youve done to him," Santana said into the phone, watching Blaine and the men dancing with him, far too close for her liking.
"Santana, I know, and I forgot, you dont know how terrible I feel. But what am I supposed to do? He wont forgive me.. not today.." Kurt told her.
"How about you get your ass down here and seperate your fucking husband from the swarm of drunk men fucking grinding against him," she said angrily, not believing her idiot friend.
"What?! Ohmygod Santana, please, just get him away from them, please, what about Elijah? I cant just leave him here!" Kurt practically cried through the phone, holding onto it like a lifeline, unable to stop picturing the images Santana just put into his head.
"Fine, whatever, Ill get him out of here, just- fucking do something, Kurt, before he tells someone else the damn sob story about how his husband told him to expect shit from him every damn year for his fucking birthday and this year he fucking forgot. He cried for a fucking hour, youre lucky I didnt ounch him."
If Kurt felt guilty before, it certainly didnt compare to how he felt now. He didnt know just how much Blaine relied on him to make his birthday special, so he sure as hell wasnt going to dissapoint him now. He checked his watch, it was half an hour to twelve. "Keep him there, Im on my way."
Santana couldnt help but smile at the sudden confidence in Kurts voice as he hung up. She set out towards Blaine, still too drunk to notice the men dancing with him, touching him. "Okay, Hobbit, youre coming with me," she said, pushing away the men.
"And who might you be, girly?" one of the men had said, who was clearly sexually confused, and made to reach out and grab her waist.
She took a hold of his wrist amd whipped around facing him, still keeping a firm hold of Blaines hand with her other hand. "Listen to me, creep, Im from a little place called Lima Heights Adjacent, you wanna know what happens in Lima Heights? Bad things! And I swear to you if you so much as touch me, or my friend, I will stab you in the throat. That goes for all you, shows over, move."They obediently parted, allowing Santana and Blaine to go through, averting their gazes out of probable fear.
Santana dragged Blaine to the parking lot, which was when he finally took note of his surroundings. "He- hey, why- whyre we out- out here- San? I was- I was dancing," he said staggering as he leaned against Santana.
"Youve had too much to drink, Hobbit," she said watching him, more to herself than to him.
"I- wan- wanna go dan- dance some more, San, will you let me dance?" he asked her like she were a parent.
She took his arm and helped him stand properly, noticing a yellow cab pull up in front of them. A tall, skinny man emerged, holding a few packets in his hand and saying something to the cab driver. Kurt rushed forward and dropped the packets to the floor taking Blaine, and now supporting him by the arm Santana was holding moments before. "The cab will take you home, Ive already paid him. Elijah is with Rach. I cant thank you enough for taking care of him, San," Kurt said as he put his arm around Blaines waist and wrapped Blaines arm around his shoulder.
"You know its not a problem, Kurt," she said. "Just take care of him. His breath smells like something died in his mouth." she kissed Blaines cheek and Kurts too, before gracefully sliding into the cab.
"Kurt? Wha- whatre you do- doing here?" Blaine asked groggily.
"God, Blaine... how much did you drink..." Kurt said worriedly. He sat Blaine down next to a car, keeping the packets he had next to him. He hailed another taxi and pulled Blaine up, helping him inside. He ran back to grab the packets, hastily checking his watch: thirteen minutes till twelve. They could make it. He all but shouted the address at the cab driver telling him to be "FAST."
In the car, Kurt made Blaine drink a lot of water, which sobered him up quite a bit. "You didnt have to come," Blaine said quietly as Kurt nervously checked his watch for the tenth time.
"Sush," Kurt said to him. "Finish the water." Blaine obliged reluctantly, still determined to be pissed at Kurt. Nine minutes till twelve.
"Were here," the cab driver announced.
"Thank you," Kurt said, handing him the cab ware, pulling a more sober Blaine out of the car, as well as the packets.
Blaine eyed the place they were now standing in front of. Eight minutes till midnight. "Kurt- where the hell are we?" Blaine asked him. "This is a shut down star bucks in the middle of-" Blaine took a spin trying to figure out where they were, which looked like one of the creepy isolated areas of the island. "In the middle of lord knows where..."
"I know, come on," Kurt said laughing, grabbing Blaines hand and running inside the shut down store. He led them up a staircase which took them to the two-storey rooftop and pulled Blaine to the edge. Six minutes till midnight. Kurt opened one of the packets and took out scented candles, lighting them along the small wall of the rooftop which they were leaning against. He didnt light them, but instead took out a box which opened to Blaines favourite chocolate lava cake- with oreos. "I made this a couple of days ago and put it in the freezer... I wanted to be ready," Kurt confessed. He lit smaller candles around the cake, not in the middle, and instead lit those, and Blaine could see the message written neatly in icing in the center: Happy Birthday Daddy!
Blaine held in a breath. "Kurt...I..."
"Sush," Kurt smiled, holding out a cake knife. "Theres one minute till midnight... make a wish," he whispered.
Blaine looked at his husband over the light from the flame ignited on the candles on his cake. He looked into the blue eyes and held Kurts hand, his cloudy thoughts, becoming clearer. His mind slowly unfogging, and in that moment, Blaine knew his wish.
Kurt cheered as Blaine blew out the candles, and leaned over to kiss him on the cheek. Blaine turned his head just in time to catch his lips, and deepened it, Kurt melted into the kiss, but jumped apart as Blaine smeared cold icing onto his cheek. "Thats for forgetting my birthday," Blaine said smirking, licking off his fingers.
"Mmhmm, and because its your birthday, you can lick it off, too. If you want, I mean," Kurt said cockily.
"You know I want to," Blaine replied just the same way. Kurt inched closer to Blaine and caught his lips in a deep kiss whilst delicately smearing a line of icing onto Blaines cheek.
"Thats for getting super drunk and letting other men drunkenly touch you," Kurt said mockingly, but he did not look pissed. "Come here," he motioned to Blaine and took a carefully folded blanket out of another packet and laying it on the ground behind them. Kurt brought the other packets and the cake onto the blanket on the ground, as Blaine laid the candles around it. Kurt slowly lit them all up and sst down next to Blaine on the blanket.
"I got you something. Well, actually, a few things," Kurt said, opening the last packet and revealing a box, not wrapped, but it had a ribbon tied around it, so it held the lid on. He also produced a card, sealed in an envelope.
Blaine opened the box, peering inside at the contents. "Kurt!" he gasped. Kurt gàve him an encouraging nod as their eyes met. Blaine took out a sticker from the Lima Bean, Ohio, a torn pocket from a unifrom, from a school called Dalton, two stuffed puppies stitched together at the lips, Puppy Love, he had called it. He took out a bowtie covered in small Christmas Trees, he took out an eye patch, a picture taken in front of Kurts locker, Blaines head on his shoulder. He found more stuff inside, love letters, goofy pictures taken im photo booths, all from different days, but the last picture of each all ending with the same passionate kiss. A coffee cup, with Klaine written on the front in a black marker, a ring made out of gum wrappers. It was all them.
"Look at the lid," Kurt told him. Blaine did as he asked, and saw the word Courage, spelt on the front, in the exact same way it was written in Kurts locker. Blaine looked at the side of the box and noticed a faded drawing on two names, Kurt+Blaine, in a heart, an arrow going across it. He smiled before looking at Kurt.
"I had it prepared. I have something else for you too, but its at home. Im sorry Blaine. God, I am so, so, sorry," Kurt said softly, taking Blaines hands, running his thumb over his knuckles gently. "I was so overwhelmed, with the amount of work I had, and I know that it isnt an excuse, I just- I forgot. I know youre hurt, and pissed that I did, but I am so, so sorry."
Blaine ran his thumb over Kurts cheek. "You still haven chocolate on you," he said laughing lightly.
Kurt laughed with him, "So do you."
"Youre human, Kurt, youre made to forget things, and make mistakes. Its okay. But thank you, for this, it really made a difference, I love you."
"I love you too, Blaine. I always will," Kurt whispered before meeting his lips with Blaines.
"Its freezing up here," Blaine murmured against Kurts lips.
"I know a way to keep warm."
"Someone could come up."
"Were on the rooftop of an abandoned Star Bucks, who would come up?" Kurt mumbled against Blaines neck. "Besides... I locked the door," Kurt grinned.
Blaine pulled back amd stared at his husband in shock, his expression then turned into a grin. He pushee Kurt back gently over the comfy blanket and attacked his face with kisses. He abruptly pulled back again. Kurt whined at the loss. "Wait- wheres Elijah?"
"With his godmother," and he pulled Blaine back down to kiss him again.
"Mmmm," Blaine moaned into the kiss. He felt his way under Kurts shirt and hastily pulled it up. They only seperated to remove Kurts shirt. Kurt shivered at the cold, but stopped as Blaine lay on top of his again. Kurt himself began to unbutton Blaines shirt. Blaine shrugged it off, ripping off the last button because he knew Kurts fingers were fumbling over it because of the cold.
He rubbed their erections against eachother and quickly unbuttoned Kurts pants. He procceeded to kissing Kurts bare chest, licking around his nipples in a way that he knew Kurt liked. Yanking off Kurts pants he kissed his way down to Kurts thighs. "Blaine," Kurt mumbled before flipping Blaine over and undoing his pants. Pulling them off and ridding Blaine of his underwear as well, Blaine shivered for second before Kurts warm mouth had taken him whole. Kurt expertly sucked on Blaines length, holding onto it. He licked the front, swirling his tongue around in a way he knew made Blaine weak at the knees.
Blaine grabbed a fist full of Kurts hair, moaning his name, not caring which hobo on the street could hear them. Kurt bobbed his head his cheeks sucking and taking Blaine whole. "Kurt- Kurt Im going to come!" Blaine moaned. Kurt smirked despite Blaines length beimg completely in his mouth. He slowly stroked Blaines entrance, not inserting a finger just as yet, just slowly stroking it. "Kurt!" Blaine yelped then came inside Kurts mouth completely. Kurt swallowed everything he had to give, then came up and met Blaine in a sweet kiss. Kurt reached inside the packet and brought out lube and condoms.
"Turn for me?" Kurt asked Blaine softly. Blaine turned to Kurts command. Kurts lips ghosted over Blaines back and neck, stopping at his earlobe and sucking on it. He opened the bottle of lube, squirting a considerable amount onto his fingers. "Tell me when youre ready," he said, biting on Blaines ear lobe seductively.
"Always," Blaine panted, as Kurts thin finger delicately entered his hole. Kurt slowly added another. Placing scattered kisses on Blaines back, he added another, scissoring them. "Kurt," Blaine said. "Kurt- now..." Kurt kissed his neck and obliged. He took out his fingers and rolled on a condom. "No," Blaine said.
Kurt stopped, confused. "No what, B?"
"No condom," Blaine told him. He smirked, removing the rubber and slicking his length with lube.
He carefully entered Blaine, loving the delecious moans coming from him. He was so close. He entered Blaine completely, knowing from the loud, "Kurt!" that it was okay to move. He began thrusting in and out of Blaine first at a slow pace but picking it up as Blaine kept encouraging him. "Fuck, Kurt," Blaine moaned loudly. "Fuck- Kurt- faster- shit."
Kurt thrust faster coming in amd out of Blaine, moaning whenever he hit that sweet spot. And then Kurt was coming entirely inside Blaine; yelling his husbands name as he came. He collapsed next to his husband, panting with him. Blaine opened his arms and pulled Kurt in. Kurt kissed Blaines side.
"You know, its only gonna get colder," Blaine whispered.
Kurt nodded. "And we have all night."
"And a chocolate cake thats still uneaten..."
"Mmm, Blaine Anderson, I love the way you think."
"Thats Anderson-Hummel to you, sir," Blaine grinned down at Kurt.
"Who are you calling sir Mister Twenty One year old?" Kurt smiled at him, drawing patterns on Blaines chest.
"Shut up and come here," he whispered before cupping Kurts cheek and bringng him in for a kiss. And he smiled into it, because this was just what he had wished for;
I wish nothing would change.
