Blaine.
Blaine ran through the courtyard, eyes scanning every inch for the familiar mop of blonde hair, his eyes fell upon Jeremiah and he all but skipped over to him.
"Jer! Oh my god Jer! Guess what! You'll never guess! Just try!" Blaine beamed.
Jeremiah didn't look the slightest bit interested and he sure as hell wasn't going to GUESS. "What is it Blaine? Im really busy right now, I don't have time for this. Tell me." He huffed. Blaine let his smile drop, suddenly more self conscious about his news than excited..
"Ugh.. well.. um, Mr. Johnson had me stay after class today. He wanted to talk about our plan for sectionals... you know, for the Warblers?" Jeremiah nodded, "yeah well, he's going to do something different this time, a Katy Perry song.."
"OH GOD, is that what this is about Blaine? Fucking Katy Perry?!" Jeremiah rolled his eyes and sighed annoyingly, "how many times do I have to tell you, SHE IS NOT MUSIC. The fact they even label her a musician is doing the word a disservice. It's appalling. Pop music is appalling. And the fact that you think I would actually care that your show choir group is performing one of her ridiculous songs is appalling. I mean really, how dumb are you? Do you even know me AT ALL?.." Blaine could almost feel himself shrinking. He fought back tears and looked at the ground
"I got it.." Blaine mumbled, he almost didnt even recognize his own voice as he said it, it seemed so weak, small, broken; Blaine hated it.
"you got what?" Jeremiah shot.
"The Katy Perry song.. I-I got the solo. I'm singing it at sectionals.." Blaine said timidly. Eyes refusing to meet Jeremiah's.
"oh." Jeremiah said through tight lips, "why?"
"I-I don't know... Johnson said he wanted someone strong, charismatic, and talented.. And for some reason he chose me.." Blaine said quietly.
"blaine, do you think that's a smart idea? I mean, sure! Your talented, but do you really think you can handle all of that? It would be so beyond embarrassing if you screwed it up.."
"yeah.. I know.. I don't know.. I think I can do it, I just, I dont know... I'm going to try.." Blaine stumbled.
"well Im sure you'll do fine. Just practice a lot." Jeremiah said coldly. Blaine felt so alone, so small. He hated it. He was never this guy, never someone who was so damn weak. A year ago he would have walked through these halls, head held high, a year ago he would have been ecstatic about the solo, a year ago he wouldn't be sitting here fighting off tears. He hated it. He hated being like this. God he was a mess. He looked up to Jeremiah with pleading eyes,
"You're going to come right?" he all but begged.
Jeremiah stared at him for a second. Stared at his hopeless face, his desperate eyes, and his quivering lip. It brought a smirk to Jeremiah's face, he reached down, cupped Blaine's cheek an gave him a small kiss,
"Sure Blaine. I'll come."
