Author's Notes:

Okay chapter 3! I just want to apologize upfront for any mistakes you might find! I dont currently have a beta but if anyone is interested in becoming mine, let me know! Anyways, enjoy! And dont forget to review!!

Blaine was feeling great. He was having an awesome hair day, he had time to stop by the Lima Bean this morning where the cute barista behind the counter had shamelessly written her number on his Medium Drip, he aced his English test this morning and didn't even have to dodge the third degree from Clark today for being late.

“Hey Blaine!” Kendra called from across the hallway. He smiled widely and waved to her.

“Sup bro!” Noah Puckerman said, passing Blaine and bumping fists as they walked.

He turned the corner and stopped at his locker, pulled it open and replaced his Chem book for his Statistics one.

“Hi Blaine!” came voice behind him.

He turned around, “Oh hi Britt. How's it going?” he said, leaning against his locker.

“Pretty good! I mean, at least for me it is, Lord Tubbington not so much,” she leaned in really close and cupped her hand to her mouth before she whispered, “I think he is involved in one of those gangs again. I can't be 100% sure, but I did find another pistol in his bed last night.”

Blaine nodded his head in mock seriousness, fighting off the grin that wanted to escape. “Oh Britt that is too bad, and after that intervention last month and everything? I thought you had really gotten through to him.”

Brittney looked completely miserable, she threw her hands up in defeat and hung her head, “I thought I did too! I mean it seemed like I did, I just, I don't know what else to do.”

Blaine reached over and rubbed circles on her back soothingly. “Oh Britt, it's important not to blame yourself, he'll figure it out on his own. Until then, you've done all you can.” He said, giving her a little pat.

Brittney looked visibly brighter after that, “Thanks Blaine you always make me feel better! Wanna make out?”

Blaine busted out laughing, “No Britt I think I'm okay right now, you should get to class though, you don't want to be late.”

Brittney smiled widely at him and gave him a quick hug, “Okay! Bye Blainers!” she said, and skipped down the hallway.

Blaine chuckled to himself and shook his head with a fond smile.

He turned to shut his locker when he heard some yelling.

Huh, that's weird..

He shut his locker and headed towards the noise, stopping dead in his tracks when he finally reached it.

“When are you going to get NO ONE wants you here? Spreading your disease, spreading your sickness?!”

Kurt stood, eyes shut and head down. Chunks of blue and purple ice spilling down his face and gathering on his shoulders. Around him were a group of his teammates, looking murderous. People were everywhere, watching. Not doing a thing to help, just watching. Blaine couldn't believe it. Rage filled his body and before he could give it a send thought he ran up to the boys,

“WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU GUYS DOING?!”

Everyone stopped they turned to look at a seething Blaine. One of the jocks stepped up and smiled at Blaine. “Hey man what's up-”

Blaine cut him off, voice ice cold, “I said, what the FUCK are you guys doing?!”

The jocks looked around, confused, “We're teaching the fairy a lesson?” one of them said.

Blaine's face, if possible, became even angrier. “You're teaching the WHAT?”

The jock looked a little scared, “The um…the fairy?” he said, looking around.

Suddenly he was slammed against a locker. Blaine gripped his jacket and pushed him upwards. “Don't you ever, FUCKING EVER call him that again! Do you understand? You guys think it's fun to harass people for being gay I'll show you how FUN it is to harass someone for being a homophobe, you GOT THAT you foul little prick?”  Blaine slammed the boy against the locker one more time and looked around the circle. People were standing there shocked, stuff like this never happened. People never stood up for Kurt or any of the glee losers, it just didn't happen. And the fact that Blaine Anderson had been the one to do it was enough to surprise anyone. “And for all of you people, the ‘innocent bystanders' who like to sit back and watch people get bullied, burn in hell. Come on Kurt.” Blaine finished, gently grabbing Kurt's elbow and leading him out of the crowd. The people parted wordlessly, heads hung in shame.

Blaine led Kurt to the nearest bathroom and sat him on the counter. “Oh my god Kurt I am so sorry! Are you alright??” Blaine asked, reaching up to flick some slushie off Kurt's shoulder. Kurt kept his eyes closed and mouth shut, he nodded. “Do you- do you have any clothes or something you could change into? Another nod. “Well would you like me to go get them for you?” Nod. “Okay, tell me your locker number and combination and ill be right back!” Kurt quietly rattled off the information and Blaine took off. When he was alone, Kurt hopped off the counter and turned on the sink, beginning the routine he was too used to by now. He washed the slushie carefully out of his eyes and ears, then dunked his entire head in to get it out of his hair. He grabbed some paper towels and patted himself dry. Blaine came back in, Kurt's bag in hand. Kurt smiled weakly at him and changed quickly in the stall. He came out when he was done, eyes trained on the floor.

“Kurt are you-” Blaine began to say.

Kurt let out a shaky breath, “You, you stood up for me.”

Blaine looked at him like he had grown 3 heads, “Of course I did Kurt.”

“But-but why?” Kurt said, eyes never leaving the ground.

Blaine's eyes went wide, “WHY? Why wouldn't I?”

Kurt started sniffing and said in a whisper, “Nobody ever sticks up for me… Nobody ever sticks up for the gay kid…”

Blaine's heart broke at that minute, Jesus, how log had this been happening? How long had Kurt been having to deal with this. He reached over and grabbed Kurt by his upper arms, squeezing firmly.

“Kurt look at me.” Kurt's head raised, his eyes wide, lip quivering, “You should NOT have to deal with stuff like that. You should not have to deal with some narrow minded, heartless, revolting asshole's issues. Because that's the thing Kurt, it's his issue. There is absolutely nothing wrong with you being gay, or in glee club, or being smart. Nothing at all. What's wrong is being a homophobic idiot with an anger problem. They are the issue, not you. I am so sorry I didn't step in and help you before. You don't have to worry about shit like that again. It will not happen, I promise you I won't let it happen, okay?”

Kurt's lip quivered more and his blue eyes shone with tears, “Why-why do you care? I mean- why do you want to help me?”

Blaine was caught off guard by that, he thought for a minute and finally said, “Aside from it being the decent thing to do, I've dealt with this sort of thing before, my best friend Nick is gay and growing up he got picked on relentlessly. I wouldn't let it happen to him, and I won't let it happen to you.  I like you Kurt. I mean, you're awesome! You're funny and smart and more fun to talk to than about 99.9% of the idiots in this school.” Blaine laughed, “I consider you a friend. And there is no way I would ever let a friend of mine deal with that kind of shit.”

Kurt was completely taken aback by that, he stood for a minute with look of complete shock on his face. Blaine was going to ask him if he was alright when he suddenly burst out laughing. And laughing. And laughing. He didn't stop until there were tears in his eyes and he was bent in half.

“What's so funny?” Blaine asked eyes glowing.

Kurt calmed down, wiping a tear from his eye and smiling widely, “It's just kind of funny I guess. The school's number one reject just got the coolest, most desirable, jock to admit to being his friend.” He started laughing again and this time Blaine joined in a little. “Irony at his finest.”

The bell rang and they quickly began gathering their stuff, laughing along the way.

Blaine rolled his eyes, “Please, I'd hardly say I'm all that, you're much cooler than me anyways.”

Kurt grabbed the door, holding it open for Blaine, “Well, in fashion sense maybe, helmet head.” He said, tapping Blaine's hard, jelled, noggin as he passed by him.

“Ohh, you better watch it Hummel!” Blaine said. Turning and getting ready to head down the hallway.

Kurt hesitated a second before calling out after him, “Blaine!”

Blaine stopped walking and turned.

“Thank You.” Kurt said, completele sincerity and appreciation in his voice.

Blaine gave him a small grin and nodded, “I'll see you tonight Kurt.”

Kurt smiled, “I'll see you tonight Blaine.”
