Author's Notes:

Okay so I got a little excited again, and decided to post the second chapter today! The updates normally wont happen this quick but anyways, enjoy! And review away!

That night, while Kurt was doing his homework he heard his phone ringing. He sighed and pushed his glasses up his face, rubbing the bridge of his nose. Macroeconomics was going to be the death of him, he was sure of it. He reached for his phone and answered it without a glance.

“Remind me why I decided to take Macroeconomics again Cedes? I think my brain is officially mush. MUSH, I can physically feel it seeping out of my ears and onto my bed.” He said with a groan.

“Umm… Kurt?” a deep voice said with a chuckle.

Kurt froze, eyes wide and heart hammering.

Kurt smacked himself in the head, let out a deep breath and stammered, “Hi-hi Blaine… I was expecting my best friend, not you haha- I'm sorry!” Kurt hung his head in embarrassment.

Blaine laughed loudly. “Yeah I figured. You're taking Macro Econ?”

“Unfortunately.” Kurt replied with a sigh.

Blaine made a loud gagging noise. “Wow man that totally blows. I took that last year and it just about did me in.”

“Hmm, which part, the workload or Mr. Goldin's skin flakes?” Kurt shot back without thinking. He mentally scolded himself about a second later smacking himself in the face again. That was a stupid joke. A really stupid joke. God, what a stupid joke. He was just about to apologize and tell Blaine he would leave him alone forever when he heard Blaine laughing, hysterically.

“Oh God, I know right? Last year I was getting help on my paper and he leaned over to explain something to me, and like I kid you not, time froze and we both watched while mid-sentence one of his flakes came off of his face and it dropped to my paper, he tried to play it off by brushing it away discretely but we both saw it happen. I don't think it's something I'll ever be able to forget.” Blaine ended with a shudder, Kurt cracked up and soon Blaine joined in.

“That is so awful, God I don't even know what I would do. I'm not as nice as you, I'd probably start gaging right then and there.” Kurt said in between laughs.

“It took everything in me not to, trust me!” Blaine said back. It was then that Kurt realized what was going on, he was on the phone with Blaine Anderson. Actually, he was on the phone LAUGHING with Blaine Anderson. What world was this?

“haha yeah, well not that I'm not enjoying discussing the unfortunate skin condition of our school's economics teacher, is there a reason you um, called, Blaine?” Kurt asked, only a hint of awkward tacked on at the end.

“Oh yeah! I totally forgot haha! I called to see how tomorrow looks for me coming over for the project? We decided on Wednesdays and Mondays and I know tomorrow is kind of early to jump the gun but I like to get my assignments done as soon as possible, since I sortof have a busy schedule with football and everything. I don't want us to like put it off and then have you get stuck with doing most of the work cause I'm at a game being a douche or something, ya know?” Blaine chuckled.

Kurt was taken aback by his willingness to actually help out, he knew Blaine was smart and obviously a stand-up guy, but he just sort of assumed he would end up having to do the project on his own. He was a little shocked, but impressed. It was nice, having Blaine so eager to help.

“Yeah Blaine, sure that sounds good, 5 like we planned?”

“Yeah 5 is great! Okay so, awesome! Just text me the address and I'll be there!”

“Okay I will, Bye Blaine.”

“See ya Kurt!”

Kurt hung up with a smile on his face. He sat there for a minute, recalling the conversation he just hand and shook his head with a grin. He turned and his Macro-Economics book caught his eye. His smile dropped and he huffed out a breath. He tossed his phone aside and grabbed the textbook, picking up where he left off.

---

That night when he was getting ready to lay down, he grabbed his phone to set his morning alarm when he saw he had a text.

Blaine Anderson 9:47 P.M.

1 cup of baking powder

3 tablespoons of baking soda

4 teaspoons of bleach

1 teaspoon of starch

Grandma Anderson's recipe for turning mush to solid. Commonly used for throw up, but should work fine on brain's too! ;) Don't study too hard, we need that brain for our project!! See ya tomorrow Kurt! :)

Kurt walked into Chemistry and quickly took his usual seat. He pulled out his book and began his daily act of pretending not to notice his classmates ignoring him. The warning bell rang and in ran Blaine, as usual. Kurt looked down in a blink, not wanting to make eye contact, sure Blaine had called him last night, and sure he texted him after but that was all in private. This is real life, and the reality of Kurt's life is that Blaine is older and very very popular, and Kurt is very very much not.

“Hey Kurt!” Blaine said loudly, clapping his hand warmly on Kurt's back. Kurt's eyes shot up and he instantly felt the entire room's eyes on him.

“Hey Blaine…” He replied quietly.

“How's your day going man? How was Goldin this morning?” Blaine said, a glint in his eye.

Kurt visibly grimaced, “Well he's in what appears to be stage 5 of his annual skin shedding, but with any hope by next month he'll have concluded his transformation and will be ready to unleash that inner butterfly we've all been waiting so desperately to see.”

Blaine threw his head back and laughed so loud and long that Kurt startled a bit. He looked around and saw the puzzled faces that covered his class's faces, the ones Blaine clearly hadn't noticed, he finally stopped laughing and looked at Kurt with a face splitting grin.

“Dude you are too much.” He said, laughing again and shaking his head. Kurt felt his face heat up in a blush.

“Anderson, here we are again, waiting on you to begin today's lesson, please help us on our way and take your seat.” Clark's voiced called out.

Blaine turned to the teacher and nodded, “Sorry Mrs. C! I'll see ya tonight Kurt.” Kurt smiled at the boy and nodded timidly. Blaine walked back to his seat and class began, Kurt unable to get rid of his blush or his smile, the entire rest of the period.

---

“Dayummmmm White Boy you are looking fine today!” Kurt heard a voice yell behind him, he smiled and turned around, coming face to face with none other than his best friend.

“Hey Cedes, you look pretty good yourself you know, I love the cheetah leggings.” He said, linking arms with the girl.

“Well you know I always pack the fierce.” Mercedes said, fake fanning herself, eliciting a giggle from Kurt, “No but really Kurt, you look great.” Kurt pushed his glasses up his face and looked down at his outfit, his favorite vintage Westwood vest on top of a plain white button up and his tightest pair of black jeans, with his usual Doc Martins. He did look great, if he said so himself.

“Well look who we got here! The fairy and his sista from another mista.” A voiced sneered down the hall. Kurt and Mercedes looked up and saw the familiar group of letterman jacket clad boys walking down the hallway, gas station to go cups filled to the brim with multicolored slush.

“Mercedes get out of here.” Kurt whispered to her through gritted teeth.

“No Kurt I'm not going to just-” Mercedes began to argue when Kurt cut her off.

“Cedes, GO. NOW.” Kurt said with a stern voice. Mercedes looked torn, looking at her best friends face and the boys heading towards them, uncertainty clouding her features. She finally nodded to Kurt and sped off down the opposite end of the hallway, pain written on her face. Kurt turned around and stood his ground when the jocks finally stepped before him.

“Well well well fairy. Here we are again.” The first boy said, pausing for a second before throwing the sushie at Kurt's face. The cold hit Kurt like a brick wall. No matter how many times it happened, he could never get used to the immediate pain that getting hit with a slushie caused. He felt it seeping into his hair and down his face, catching in his glasses and trickling down to his white shirt.

“When are you going to learn? When are you going to get it?” Another voice yelled. Followed by another smack of slushie.

“When are you going to get that we don't want you here?” Another slushie.

“When are you going to get NO ONE wants you here? Spreading your disease, spreading your sickness?!” Smack, went another slushie.

Kurt lost count of how many he'd be hit with by now. He was humiliated and he knew that getting all of this dye out of his skin was going to be nearly impossible now. He shivered and willed this to be over soon. Bracing himself for another icy hit, he heard a voice loud and booming come in behind him.

“WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU GUYS DOING?!”
