Author's Notes: TBC

'Dad?!?' Blaine shouts when he comes home. No answer. That means that his dad, Burt, isn't home. Strange, because he hasn't been home a lot lately. He goes "somewhere." What does that even mean?

It's been three hours and Burt is still not home. Blaine feels lonely. He always feels lonely. First, he thought it was because of the death of his mom, but it was always there. The loneliness. As long as Blaine can remember. He has friends, so that's not it either. He is in the glee club of his school McKinley, called the New Directions, and he has a lot of friends there. But there's something missing.

'Where have you been?' Blaine asks when his dad walks three hours later into the room, out of nowhere. Blaine didn't even hear him arriving. 'I already had dinner!' 'Oh, the usual things. Work and stuff somewhere,' his dad answers. Blaine rolls his eyes. 'Yeah, sure,' he sayssarcastically Before he leaves he says: 'You're hiding something, dad.' Burt smiles. 'Not for long, kiddo.'
——————————————————————————————
. Blaine is talking to Tina and Sam when he hears someone shouting 'BLAINE!' Blaine turns around and sees something big approaching. 'Finn, what's up?' 'Dude,' Finn grabs Blaine by his shoulders, 'Did you know my mom is dating your dad?' 'WHAT?' 'My mom, Carole, is dating your dad, Burt.' 'What?' Blaine repeats, 'How?' 'I dunno,' Finn shrugs, 'Apparently it's been going on for a while. My mom told me this morning. Did your dad-' 'No, he didn't tell me.'
——————————————————————————————
'Carole Hudson?' is the first thing Blaine says when he sees his dad again. 'What's up with her?' Burt asks calmly. 'You've been dating Finn's mom?' Silence fell. 'How do you know?' 'Finn told me that Carole told him this morning,' Blaine shrugs, 'Why didn't you tell me?' 'I was planning to do it today. We were planning,' Burt explains, 'That's what I mean when I said "Not for long" when you asked me what I was hiding.'
'Why didn't you guys tell us before?' Blaine asks, 'Finn said that his mom said that it's been going on for a while.' 'Just a month of two, three.' 'JUST A MONTH OF TWO OR THREE?' Burt nods, 'We chose today, because I want to invite the Hudsons for our next Friday night dinner. If you're okay with it, of course.'
——————————————————————————————
That's how next Friday ended up having the Hudsons around. 'So,' Carole says, 'Finn told a lot about you, Blaine.' 'He did?' 'Yes. You like sports, don't you?' Blaine nods. 'And music,' he adds. 'He got his passion for sports from me and his music from his mom,' Burt smiles. 'But- if I can ask- how did your mom look like?' Carole asks Blaine, 'I mean, you don't look like your dad at all.' 'Well...' Then Blaine realizes he doesn't look like his mom either.
Elizabeth Hummel had beautiful green/blue eyes, like an exploding star, a pale skin andchestnutbrown hair that turned into strawberry blond in the summer.
Blaine looks at his dad, because Carole is right. He doesn't look like him either. Burt has no hair, but it used to be dark blond. He has blue/grey eyes, while Blaine has black hair, gelled back, and hazel brown eyes. Also, his parents aren't that Hobbit-sized as Blaine is.
——————————————————————————————
The Hudsons left around 11pm. 'Watcha think of her, boy?' Burt asks when they're cleaning up. 'She's nice,' is all that Blaine says. Blaine continues doing the dishes. 'Is there something bothering you, kid?' Burt asks his son. 'It's just...' Blaine starts, 'Carole asked all those questions. About you and mom. And me.' 'Yeah...?' 'I like sports and music, but I don't look like you, or mom, at all.' 'So? There's some Asian blood in your moms family, I think. Maybe you got it?' 'Oh, blood,' Blaine sighs, 'Remembersophomore year, when we did a blood group test for bio, and mine didn't match with yours. And you said-' 'Probably from your mom.' 'Yes that,' Blaine continues, 'But what if it's not?' 'What are you suggesting, kid?'
Blaine suggested a DNA-test. His dad laughed, but Blaine explained how much he wanted it and why. That Carole made him think about everything. That he always felt something was missing. He asked if he was adopted and Burt laughed even harder.
'Dad! This is serious!' Blaine says annoyed, 'I'm serious!' 'Yeah, I get it,' Burt says, 'But a DNA-test? Who's gonna pay for all that?' 'I will if I have to,' Blaine says satisfied. 'So, okay. This is no joke?' Blaine nods. 'I'll see what I can do.'
——————————————————————————————
5 DAYS LATER

'You called us here?' Burt asks a woman in white. She was from the Lima Hospital. 'Yes,' she says, 'My name is Mary. If you'd like, have a seat, mr. and mr. Hummel.' 'Why are we here?' Burt asks. 'The hospital has the results of the DNA-test you took four days ago,' Mary answers while walking back and forth. 'What is it?' Blaine asks nervously.
Mary takes a seat. 'The test pointed something out and we don't know how to tell you.' Both Blaine and Burt feel uncomfortable. What is going on here? 'What's it?' Burt asks after a minute has passed.
'You and your son are 100% sure not related to each other.'
——————————————————————————————
It took about half an hour to calm Burt. 'What do you mean? Not related!' he shouted, 'How can my son not be related to me?' Blaine is terrified. Did his mom cheat with some Asian guy and pretended Blaine was Burt's? But... 'Mom couldn't cheat,if that's what you're thinking, dad,' Blaine says calmly, 'Because I don't look like her either.'
Ýour son's right, sir,' Mary says.'Then what's it?' Blaine shouts. Mary swallows. 'It looks like your son has been switched at birth with a boy who was born at nearly the same time.'
