Choo-choo! All aboard the Weschel train!
When Kurt and Blaine have ordered their coffee and sit at the table in the corner, Kurt tells Blaine that Rachel’s back.
“So, remember the invitation?”
“Natuurlijk,” Blaine replies. He and Wes have been talking to all the other New York aliens about refreshing the cover story because of it.
“What are you two doing upcoming Saturday?”
“I am free, but I have to check in with Wes.”
He hasn’t really spoken to Wes about Kurt since Wes reminded him about their upcoming leave. He is also a bit bitter that Wes didn’t realise how serious it was? Sure, let’s flirt with some humans and have some fun, but the moment Blaine wants to drop the L word, Wes backs away.
He hasn’t even said that he loves Kurt.
Wes knows Blaine likes Kurt.
But Blaine knows better.
Even now he’s watching Kurt talk excitedly about a new development in the fashion world and he knows he’s fucked, because even though Blaine is annoyed with his friend, Wes is still right.
But Wes hasn’t thought about one thing.
They don’t have to go back.
Wes is free, so when Saturday comes around, Wes teleports the both of them to the loft. Wes can always take one or two people with him and it beats having to take the train to Bushwick. Now Blaine had more time to get ready at home.
And by getting ready, he means stressing out about the situation.
Is it foolish that he wants to leave a good impression?
Kurt opens the door with a smile.
“Welkom!” he says and he leads Blaine and Wes into the loft. Kurt and Blaine talk a little bit in basic Dutch, which is going well. Blaine smiles when his eyes fall on the sticky notes plastered around the loft.
Wes is about to chime in when his face suddenly goes slack. He’s staring over Kurt’s shoulder and Blaine follows his gaze.
Wes is looking at Rachel with a look of, well… of awe. Rachel isn’t bothered by it and she introduces herself. When Wes tries to reply, he falters.
Blaine is dumbfounded.
He’s never seen his friend like this.
Kurt also raises an eyebrow.
“Well then, Mr. Wes,” Rachel says to Wes, completely ignoring Kurt and Blaine, “I think it is time to get to know you.”
“Weren’t you hear to do a background check on Blaine?” Kurt points out.
Rachel shushes him. She keeps looking at Wes with great interest.
Kurt and Blaine share a bemused look. This evening took a turn they did not expect.
