Chapter 18

The doors opened and a girl went in backwards with a man pushing her.

“We can’t do it, Mr. Holbrook,” the girl said but didn’t do anything to stop him. She continued kissing him.

“It’s late, the office is empty. Nobody is going to find out,” he said and moaned as the girl started to palm him.

“Table,” she said and they both fell on the table. Some papers and pens flew on the ground. That sound covered silent footsteps in the other part of the room.

“My neck, kiss my neck. The other side,” the girl instructed and moaned very loudly when the guy across the room worked with the safe. They had been working for so long to get into it and finally had the combination. They hoped that there would be something useful in it.

“I love it when you are so loud,” Mr. Holbrook said never removing lips from the girl’s neck.

“Only for you,” she said eyeing the guy, who showed her a thumb up with the right hand while holding a file of papers in his left. The girl pushed some more stuff from the table and with that sound the safe was closed. In ten seconds the guy was gone.

“No, I can’t do it,” the girl spoke after a few minutes, giving enough time for the guy to reach his car. “I’m sorry.”

She pushed the man away and ran out of the office, looking embarrassed of what had happened. But once she was outside, her face lit with satisfaction. She reached the car still smiling and got in. The guy was talking to his phone.

“Everything is here… Yes, we can prove all his corruption… We will be back soon…” he finished the conversation and leaned to kiss the girl.

“I love you so much, Rachel,” he said as the girl deepened the kiss.

“I love you too, Finn. But we need to get out of here,” she broke the kiss and sat straight.

Finn started the car and drove. “God, the noises you were making… I thought I would get hard in there or punch him and make out with you in front of him.”

Rachel giggled. “If it makes you feel better, I was thinking about you.”

Finn: Done.

Sugar: ?

Finn: We are done.

Mike: What the hell? Did you and Rachel break up?

Blaine: Mike, don’t jump on conclusions. What happened?

Rachel: Seriously, Finn? ‘We are done’?

Sugar: You broke up with Rachel and tell that to all of us before you even talk to her? That’s low.

Finn: We didn’t break up!

Rachel: It’s just that Finn has perfect choice of words as always.

Mike: So what’s done?

Finn: We are done.

Blaine: *facepalm*

Rachel: *facepalm*

Blaine: Don’t copy me!

Rachel: Don’t copy me!

Mike: Why don’t you stop your childish games and tell us finally?

Rachel: Fine.

Rachel: Finn and I…

Rachel: …are coming back!

Sugar: Seriously?!

Finn: Yes! Holbrook is going DOWN!

Mike: Congrats!

Blaine: Great job! Well done, guys!

Sugar: I can’t wait! We haven’t seen you two for ages and I want to show you Wes.

Finn: Wes?

Sugar: Oh, you don’t know yet. Blaine, Mike, and I are this year’s supervisors.

Rachel: That’s amazing! I wish I could be one of them…

Finn: Maybe next year, love.

Mike: *vomits*

Sugar: As if you are any different with Tina.

Rachel: Who is Tina?

Sugar: His girlfriend.

Mike: No she’s not. But I would love that…

Rachel: *hearteyes*

Blaine: *hearteyes*

Sugar: *hearteyes*

Finn: *hearteyes*

Mike: I hate you, guys.

Kurt was in one of his classes and Blaine took an opportunity to go to the gym. He always went there with Kurt but it wasn’t enough for him.

Once in the gym he chose a stationary bike for the beginning. He set the level and took the phone dialling a number. After a few seconds the person answered.

“Hey, Blaine!”

“Hi, Rachel. It’s good to hear your voice,” Blaine smiled. He really missed the girl.

“Of course it is, my voice is amazing!” she laughed and Blaine heard her sitting down on a bed. “So why are you calling?”

“Can’t I call you just because I missed you?” Blaine mocked her.

Rachel snorted. “Oh please… There must be a reason. Wait, does it have anything to do with that person whose supervisor you are? I mean, he has never seen me and I’m a good actress. So am I right?”

“As always,” Blaine laughed and set a higher level on the bike. “I would like to see how he would act in a stressful situation. Some uncomfortable questions and stuff like that.”

“Come on, you could come up with something more interesting. We could kidnap him or something. That would be exciting. Then we could handcuff him and set the building on fire. And when he gets out we could shout ‘surprise’! Oh, please, let’s do that!”

“Rachel, you are being ridiculous. He is a ‘white’. So I’m not setting anything around him on fire,” he said and rolled his eyes. Sometimes Rachel just got carried away.

“Is he your boyfriend?”

“How… Whatever. He may or may not be my boyfriend. It doesn’t matter,” he said impatiently.

“Oh, he is! I can’t wait to meet him. We will plan something. When do you want to do it?”

“I’m taking him to London on Thursday so maybe we could meet you there and talk about catching up next day. How does that sound?”

There was a moment of silence. “Good for me. Finn and I are supposed to go back to the base on Saturday morning. But we will probably go there in the evening on Friday. So it’s perfect.”

“Great. So about the plan…”

Finn came out of the hotel bathroom and entered the bedroom. “I heard your voice,” he said. “Who were you talking to?”

Rachel placed the phone on the bed stand. “Blaine called me. We are plotting something for his boyfriend.”

Finn looked shocked. “What boyfriend? I didn’t know Blaine had a boyfriend.”

“He does. Well, he didn’t actually confirm it but I’m ninety nine percent sure,” Rachel said with certainty in her voice.

The boy just shrugged. “I’m happy for him. So what’s the plan?”

“How about you get into the bed and we fuck you so hard you forget your name?” the girl said seductively moving closer to the boy.

Finn giggled. “I was talking about your plan with Blaine. And actually I would like to call Kurt... But you know, I could never say no to you.”

“It’s so great to finally meet you. Matthew has told me a lot about you. I’m very sorry but I’m in a hurry. I’m actually running late. But I do want to meet you again. Maybe for coffee or dinner?” Rachel found a piece of paper in her bag and wrote down a phone number. “Call me so we can meet. Oh, and Trevor, don’t forget to bring your wife, I’m dying to meet her.”

Rachel hugged both boys and left them alone.

“My wife?” she heard Kurt saying.

The girl made a mental note to tell Blaine that Kurt should take into account the distance at which people can still hear him. She took her phone and called Finn.

“That guy is gorgeous,” she said before Finn could even say ‘hello’.

“Hi, honey, I missed you too,” he mocked her.

“Finn, it’s serious. They look so cute together. You will see on Saturday. Oh, I can’t wait to get to know him better. The funny bit – his name is Kurt just like your brother’s.”

Finn giggled. “He isn’t the adventurous type. I don’t think he would agree to join the C.A.T. even if he got a chance.”

“But imagine if Kurt and Blaine dated. Wouldn’t that be awesome?”

“That would be a problem. As an older brother I should threaten Blaine to kick his ass if he hurt Kurt but we all know well enough that he is stronger than me. So it wouldn’t work…”

Rachel smiled. “As far as I’m concerned, you are the strongest,” she said softly.

“I love you,” Finn said and made a kissing noise.

“I love you too,” Rachel laughed.

“How was it?” Finn asked and wrapped his arms around Rachel’s waste, pulling her closer.

They were already in their apartment in the base. Thankfully, Kurt didn’t see her in the corridors.

“I had a lot of fun. Kurt brought his ‘wife’. They were both really good. They almost let some stuff slip but if I hadn’t known them I wouldn’t have guessed. I’m sure they will make it into good squads.”

Finn kissed her and they went into the bedroom so that Rachel could change.

“Did you find out if they are really dating?” Finn asked watching her undress.

“Yes. Apparently, yesterday was their three month anniversary. That’s adorable. Oh, and you should have seen Blaine’s reactions when Kurt was about to kiss his ‘wife’. It was hysterical!” she laughed.

“Jealous Blaine? That’s something I would love to see!”

Rachel put on her nightgown and sat down on the bed. “I will take a shower in the morning. I’m too tired.”

“Sweet dreams,” Finn whispered as she settled to sleep and kissed her on a cheek.

“Goodnight.”

The door bell rang and Finn ran to open the doors. He found Blaine standing there and pulled him into a tight hug. The other boy responded with the same enthusiasm.

“You know, Finn,” Rachel’s voice came from behind, “sometimes I think you love Blaine more than me. And same about you, Blainey.”

Blaine laughed and went to hug her. “So bad I’m gay. Otherwise Finn would have no chance at all.”

“Hey, I’m still standing here,” Finn frowned.

Both Blaine and Rachel laughed at him.

“Let’s go get something to eat,” Rachel said cheerfully and moved towards the doors.

“Rachel? Would you mind if I steal Finn for a few minutes?” Blaine asked.

“I will meet you in the cafeteria.” She winked and left.

Finn looked at him with an unreadable expression. “What’s going on?”

“Let’s go sit down.”

They went to the sitting room and sat down facing each other. Blaine thought for a moment.

“I wanted to ask you… How do you deal with this whole relationship with Rachel?” he finally asked.

“What do you mean?”

“When you are on different missions or one of you is in the base… don’t you worry about her? And when she is with someone else aren’t you jealous? And when she gets hurt doesn’t your heart break?”

Finn smiled sadly. “I love her. It’s all that matters. Yes, I worry every single second when we are not together. And I worry even when we are. Yes, I’m jealous but I know I’m the only one she thinks about. I trust her so I don’t see that as cheating. It’s her job. And when I have to be with someone else, I picture her with me. I guess it’s dangerous because I can always let her name slip but so far it’s working. And when she gets hurt I want to be the one who is hurt. I want to take her pain away. And there are moments when I want to leave and lock her somewhere where she could be forever safe.”

Blaine looked at him not saying anything. He had already figured that stuff out by himelf but it was different to hear it from someone else who had actual experience.

“Is it worth it?” he asked.

“Definitely.”

“I can’t wait to meet your boyfriend,” Finn grinned when they both entered the cafeteria.

“Oh, here he is, talking to Rachel,” Blaine smiled and showed him where the two of them were standing. “That should be fun. I’m sure Kurt has just found out who Rachel is.”

“Rachel?” Finn said in order to get her attention.

The guy who was with her turned around quickly. There was pure shock in his face when he set his eyes on him.

“Finn?!”

The world started spinning. It couldn’t be Kurt. Not his Kurt. But here he was – standing in front of him, wearing black pants and a white t-shirt.

“Kurt?!”
